Oda isn't one to give strong characters OP abilities, if anything he nerfs them like Law. I would love for Kidd's awakening to be electromagnetism manipulation, but having full control over a fundamental aspect of reality is just too broken for any piece of literature . If the person who had Kidd's devil fruit was a weak af like a perona or a buggy then maybe because they wouldn't use it to its full capacity. Makes me realise tho, Oda sacrificed having a universe of broken, planet destroyers for balanced, tangible and well written characters. And I will always support that decision.

People just don’t understand the story. Timing is everything. While Luffy was training for 2 years kid was already in the new world facing Yonkos. Had Luffy not trained he’d be getting whooped the same. It’s also funny that people forget how Luffy got absolutely Zero diff’d by Magellan. Luffy has actually lost plenty of times vs Smoker and Croc as well. Even vs Cracker he was shameless running away and recuperating every couple of minutes. Luffy even ran away when Kizaru was destroying his crew. This is the difference between Kidd and Luffy. Kid is to egotistical to ever run away but Luffy knows when he’s out classed. You have to respect kids determination if nothing else.

I'm on the Kid fanboy part. I absolutely love him. It disappoints me sometimes, but it's more the fact that we don't get to know him for real, than anything else. One point i've become to think is that Kid is NOT AWARE that he has emperor's haki. We know he has it because Kaido said so, but Kid himself... does not look like he knows it, or know how to use it. One thing i like to compare about Kid and Luffy is that he did not train for two more years before going into the New World. He went in and caused havoc. My man went against Shanks, fought unprepared against Kaido and went in and out of Whole Cake taking what he wanted successfully. He has grown strong fightning, not training. He problably does not know a lot of things, but he's tough and i want to see how much.

Eustass has so much potential to be one of my favorite supernova. I'm sure I'm not the first one to think about this, but I like to imagine that Kidds fighting style is similar to Drive Knight from One Punch man, just more chaotic. I love Kidds giant junkyard punk robot but I want to see more forms like a punk crab/spider for agility, a hover bike for speed, a punk skull knight/centaur with a sword, lance or flail or something. He has the potential to be so badass and I can see why his bounty would be higher than Luffy's pre time skipp. He'd basically be Luffy's gear 3rd with more versatility and destructive capabilities as long as he has metal, which he could be carrying around constantly in the form of a vehicle like Smokers three wheel thing and he just disassemble it to make giant arms or whatever he wants. I'm sure (G)Oda will impress us with whatever he decides to do with Eustass.

Yeah I think when the story’s over it’ll do a time skip speaking of the battles after. Kidd will be like Whitebeard was to Roger. They’d have serious battles but be able to talk as friendly rivals still. The thing people never bring up is how much respect Kidd has been shown to give Luffy throughout the series. At every big move Luffys ever made it’s always shown Kidd praising his actions.

Kid can’t touch luffy based on what we’ve seen. Luffy has the destructive force to put kaido on his ass using gear 3rd.. which isn’t even his strongest form. And on top of that he has the ability to literally see in the future. G4 luffy with adv armament and future sight would destroy kid based on what we’ve seen. (Coming from a kid fanboy so no bias)

Somehow I see kid filling the Whitebeard role. Edward Newgate does not have the D. initial and was the rival of Roger. Kid also doesnt have the initial but is the "rival" of Luffy. Not saying that Kid will be as strong as Whitebeard but that's the parallel I see.

Kid has been useless so far. However, Oda drew him on that battlefield, gave him a connection to shanks and made him a direct rival to luffy. His importance will matter, and I'm keeping my eye on whatever he does or says.

idk why u think kidd has been "useless". The guy got to reunite with killer, beat the crud out of apoo then went to the top to fight kaido... That's literally Kidd being Kidd, just doing what he wants/feels. He is not a part of the alliance so he isn't obligated to contribute to the plan especially the fact that he said and realized that he will never consider to work with outsiders again. Imo what really separates Kidd and Luffy is Luffys ability to make allies out of strangers and enemies like Mihawk mentioned at Marineford. That gives him the edge because those people will ultimately help him when he is in a dire situation, while Kidd given his ego tries everything alone or with his crew.

Personally i have high expectations of Kid. When he was introduced he had a higher bounty than Luffy, now you could say that is just because Oda wanted to reveal that just because you have a higher bounty that does NOT mean you are stronger than someone with a lower bounty, however it could also be a way for Oda to say this character matters, he is important. And considering that in a way Kid is an opposite of Luffy being much more violent and willing to kill anyone that makes fun of his dreams which is to find the One Piece so obviously the same ambition as Luffy's, which in my opinion goes to show that Kid is like Luffy but isn't at the same time if that makes any sense , similar to Blackbeard's case. Now of course i like this character for example i like the design , even more after the time-skip. Now i do not really understand why people hate Kid so much, is it because he is a member of the members of the worst generation and like the majority of them, when compared to Luffy they are not impressive ? I don't see hawkins getting this kind of hate, nor Bege. Now i do think Luffy does have an advantage over Kid right now , he was trained by the former right hand of the Pirate King for two years (1 and a half and then for the remaining year he trained on his own i believe). He obtained advanced observation Haki from fighting against Katakuri, and then he learned Ryuo. I think we can agree that Kid is perhaps in a similar stage to Luffy when he just got reunited with his crew. Strong obviously , and has Haki, but not to that advanced level (as far as any of us know) And yes he was defeated by the Red haired Pirates, or at least got seriously hurt, and even if it was from a subordinate and not the captain, we do not know when this happened, could a pre timeskip Luffy hold his ground to anyone of yonko commander level even if it was a lower level ? So the point being , he was defeated by a Yonko twice now... it is expected even for someone like him, Luffy got one shoted by Kaido. Im making this comment to express my expectations of Kid to of which are to become a great Pirate close to the level of the Pirate King or in other words a Yonko or the equivalent to that if that tittle is no longer a thing later on and i would like to understand why people dislike him so much, yes he killed civilians but... Doflamingo is a thing and people like this character.

Oh jeez, I assumed the same thing. I can't tell you how many times I read "Useless" kid or heard people saying they hated Kid without a good reason. I came to the same conclusion that Kid isn't expanded upon as a character. Hell, I've read great fanfics of One Piece where they give more focus on the kid pirates, making them ruthless pirates that I wish was in the main story...but that would probably turn One Piece in to a Seinen manga/anime and I don't think we're ready for that. lol

Kid is my favorite character in the manga. He has balls, potential, and style. Every anime/manga has the goody two shoes happy go lucky protagonist, which is fine, but i tend to fall in line with the outlier characters. The Kids, the Sasukes, the Killuas if you will. What i like about Kid is that he's so lowkey. Everything about him is lowkey we dont really know what hes capable of but we get little spots of his character here and there and this is what ive noticed. He's an intellectual, and a bit smarter than he gets credit for. He pays attention to the world around him with a keen eye, and Oda shows us this by having Kid comment on most of the major battles in the world, always giving his two cents. A pure brute savage that dont take no shit wouldnt have so much to say about political happenings in his environment, so i think thats a sign that there's more than meets the eye for this character. His abilities have a ridiculous ceiling, and i think ive got a pretty good theory of just what they'll come to be. From what we know its electromagnetism, manipulating metals and irons from his environment to use in battle right? I think his awakening would be absolute control over the power and range of his electromagnetism. Instead of a struggle to pull all the metal in from his environment, it all becomes as quick and easy as a snap of a finger. For example, the size of what hes pulling and how far its coming from wont matter, he could use a nail to lift an entire ship, or pull someone towards him using something as little as an earring, or propel/launch himself or objects at blinding speeds.

Kid's devil fruit could possibly be telekinetic but being magnetic is more probable. The 1st option could mean, he is not only limited to metal but he just likes using metal as his offensive element. That could be a loophole for Kidd to attain flight as well... I only thought about it after recognizing how he builds his armour after collecting them, a magnet cannot arrange or rearrange metals after attracting them but that might be possible with telekinesis. He could fire knives, cannons or bullets to home/track their targets. He could have the kind of effect Fuji has when he uses his df on people but instead of pull up/pull down it pulls/pushes in general Like is said it is more probably magnetism, like 90%. But it is possible for him to have a different df that has the attraction trait as a bonus .e.g. Kaido's fruit, Brooke's, Douglas Bullet and a few others

I've believed in Kid from like the very beginning. He's actually my favorite Supernova with Law being my 2nd favorite. I love characters like Kid and Grimmjow who are extremely wild and tear shit up along their way. I've also seen Kid as being one of the few parallels to Luffy in some ways, and it's definitely inevitable that they WILL clash after Wano because only one dude can become Pirate King. I'm very excited for these upcoming chapters because now we'll get to see if Kid will live up to the hype.

I think another problem with Kidd is that he essentially is the low budget version of Douglas Bullet from Stampede. That movie might not be cannon but it still showed basically the maximum extent of Bullet's powers, and Kidd's are the same, only that he can only control metal. I just can't see Kidd ever getting to the level of a current Yonko.

We didn't know everything about Law until the climax of Dressrossa and he was prevalent in the story: sabody, paramount war, punk hazard. Kidd will get his moments to shine and we will get his backstory in this arc, we just gotta be patient.

Can't wait for Kids Flashback when we see his interaction with the Yonko crews and his true intentions. Him invading Totto land an his fight against the sweet commander and finally revealing who it was, as well as his fight with the Red Hair pirates and how he lost his arm. And obvously his first fight against Kaido and how long he lasted out in comparison to Luffy. I'm pretty sure he has some Red porneglyphs as well and maybe awakening (awakening being his boost like advance Ryou is for Luffy, basically the equivalent).
