I agree with the brand legacy but when it comes strictly to which of these is better proven technologically as an ev I would say Ioniq 5N is the one. Can that Porsche run Nurburgring twice without heating up? Ioniq N5 has proven so many times not only on tracks but also against so many "Supercars". What is Porsche afraind of?

Nice garage, and it looks like you prefer Ev cars over the ICE cars, lol

I hear some of my commentry made in the previous vid. Just to be clear, I don't doubt the Porsche actually feels different/more quality. Just saying it should considering the price and the brand. While Porsche has problably one of the most valuable brands full stop, let's not forget Hyundai Motor Group (as Hyundai, Kia and Genesis together, it's complicated) is the second most profitable automaker in the world and the 3rd in revenue, they are no longer a little off-side manufacturer even if it may seem so in our perception. Anyway, I care about the performance and actual driving, and for what it is, the 5 N exceeds expectation by far, even if a Taycan is even better experience (but not necessarily better track car). So nothing is wrong with the world when we say the Porsche is a nicer experience. Ref depreciation, now everyone is in a 'everything EV depreciates' narrative, but that is not entirely true. Some EV models tend to hold value more, the orignal tesla roadster, and e.g. the BMW i3 dispite 'old tech', we had quite a few here in Sweden and many are sold on export as they are sought after. Probably a few more I didn't think about right now. Most EV's are a tech only product, just like smartphones indeed, but I would say the 5N is a bit different, as it has a more 'mechanical' user interface using lots of buttons instead of tech touchscreens only, and that there is actual hardware old school engineering to its driver experience and proper track performance. Lastly, being quite niche still (performance track family EV??) nor having the brand yet, there probably wont be many made. Fast forward a decade or so (i.e. not next year), the N brand stronger, people getting over the range anxiety thing as infrastructure has improved and quick chargers are everywhere incl tracks, and when all other EV's will literally be self driving ipads, I think there is a good chance that a car like the 5N will have a following larger than the supply, for people that haven't forgotten the art of driving oneself. Bit like a digital camera space, on one hand the higher end ones with lots of manual controls and raw (pun intended) performance can keep an appeal even used even if they don't film at 8k/120fps (=tech), while the point and shoot digital cameras have been wholly replaced by, indeed, photographing smartphones. Yep those again. Literally nobody wants pay for a used point and shoot digital camera when the phone in the pocket does it better. To keep the comparison going to photography, I also think a lot of ICE car owners are overrating the depreciation resistance of ICE cars. At some point, they will slide to become the analog camera equivalent as new generations grow up with electric cars and gas prices keep rising. Only some very special analog cameras, I mean ICE cars, will keep their value, but many ICE cars that are appreciated today, may become completely unwanted as soon as the demand for them undercuts the (large) supply. Appreciate the discussion, enjoy the cars :)

The porsche obviously is going to be more refined, they've been at it forever and it's reflected in the price. I don't think it's a knock on the 5N at all. The N brand in general is going for a more playful experience, i think their marketing slogan was smiles per mile or something.

I just did a testdrive with the Taycan Turbo S and the Ioniq 5N back to back. Both are great cars, but very different. The Taycan really drives like any Porsche. The way the steering feels, is just like no other brands. The Hyundai, feels like a very, very, very fast hot hatch. It's a fantastic car if you can only own 1 car, but it doesn't feel nearly as direct as the Porsche. And I owned a Hyundai i30N and a Boxster GTS, so no brand bias here.
