Hi, I did find you because I love the enyaq and I was interested in see how a family trip would go with it. Yours situation is similar to mine so I can relate to what you show with the kids and being able to take that many cargo, schedule long stops to be sure having enough juice and all that. Good Job on reporting your trip experience! Several things I loved about you. English is flawless even for the kids! kudos on that! Also, it's not so common to find videos showcasing the countries you were passing, so that it's a bonus for me, a long time travel lover that's sitting at home to much of his time :/ Also, I can relate to the skoda infotamente software quality issues. it's seems like they slacking that they on Quality control, right? But to be honest, Skoda have a very troublesome position inside the VW group, but clearly they are driven towards gettng a neck on neck quality competition with their Germans siblings, which in turns forces them to put some on purpose flaws on they products so that they can scape the heat. I could not imagine how much angry calls Skoda excecutives have had from VW about having a truly competitive and cheaper Id4!

Thx Jose! We didn't want to put it public initially, however i thought there must be other families out there who are asking themselves the same questions about EV's as we did. Regarding quality control, I believe the issue is the whole software. It hasn't been thought through (and i doubt again that anyone driving a car was involved) and now that its used in so many cards(Skoda, VW) they cant just completely rewrite it. I would assume it was a huge investment and no one will willingly admit that they coded together a piece of gar****. With proper software this car could have been a real Tesla 3 competitor.

I recommend to stay at the hotels with charging possibility. Last week I stayed in one in Warsaw, underground parking was 50 PLN but charging (AC 11 kW) was free. It was a good deal. In both main hotel seraching apps you can filter by having a charing facility.

Thx for the tip. I tried finding a hotel in Warsaw but after reading comments found out that most of the hotels advertising actually don't have it. Which hotel did you stay at ? Might use it for the way back.

Thank you for sharing this. it is exactly what I was looking for .. I also ordered an Enyaq but I am quite worried about the software and the powerpass .. that should be the thing to focus on.. hopefully, it will get better .. enjoy your holiday :-

Happy it helps. Will try to do a short video just about the SW and issues encountered so far. My Powerpass card should arrive next week so can report more on that later. From what I can compare to(Kodiaq) they didn't improve the software (my guess is they use the same "platform") although the hardware seems capable enough. Talking to dealerships, they are having also massive issues on the new Octavias with the SW. Honestly, I don't understand how Skoda can build such a nice car but leaves the user facing UX so blatantly poorly designed. Comparing Skodas interface to for Example Tesla's - no, you cant even remotely compare....

@@evfamily-fullycharged2561 hi... It was very helpful.. thank you again. And you are right about Tesla software being currently the standard (supercharger infrastructure included). I had a Tesla M3 for a year .. so.. personal experience .. I am going to try a ioniq 5 soon .. let you know if you are interested .. have a good day :-)

@@evfamily-fullycharged2561 ciao.. i did the driving test and you may be quite right about the trunk being not enough or not big as the enyaq. The driving is smooth and nice. Cockpit design not of my taste. Plenty of space for the passengers. Outside design is a matter of taste but is quite ok just I am not a fan of the Tesla like door handle .. quite problematic in winter (I tend to be a rather practical person). The car is deceptively big. Infotainment it is ok (not really anything special.. but that's just my quick impression after an hour test drive) charging I hear (couldn't test) is one of the best in term of charging speed even when the car is quite charged .. hope it helps ...still I will stick to enyaq but I am glad ev models are keeping coming ..

Hey! Very informative. Going to Poland from Norway real soon and just wonder how your experience with Greenway in Poland were? I know I am late and you might not answer. But I hope you have an answer! :D

I do not know if you know already but it is not recommended to charge above over 80% on fast chargers as the car throttles above 80% and charging is slow :) how are the Skoda handling charge above 80%?
@evfamily-fullycharged2561
@evfamily-fullycharged2561 3 жыл бұрын
I usually charge to 80%, however for a trip into the "unknown" i wanted to make sure we have some extra charge for eventualities. You see that the battery management software slows it down from about 74%. However truth be told, i don't think it drops below 28kW from 80% onwards.

@@norfoc Never. Its our first EV and to be honest, there were times we almost ran out of gas with our previous car(no pump for 200 km) - crazy in these times!

Haha love the kids 🤣 “3, 2, ……..1,….we are here!!!” 😉👌🏻 Car seems to be doing fine. Were you using airconditioning? Also, I’m sure the country side does have hills. Were you using full regeneration? (B) And of course, 300 kg is a good load, that always costs a little, with any car. But overall it seems you guys traveled comfortably. I will also receive my iv80 somewhere in oct-nov, looking forward to it. 😁

It was actually flat. Highest hill in Latvia is 312m :). Yes, was using AC and drove only with regeneration and on "economy" mode. It's very comfortable to travel in, no questions.

I never stopped talking :) (I believe she is also reading this, ha, ha, ha). Ordered Powerpass card a day before departure as my dealer didn't mention it at all during the whole process. Found out by chance that I have 1 year subscription included.... From what i tried, PP doesnt seem to work through the app, you need the Rfid card.

I read on a few German forums that they had similar experiences. After letting the car sit for 24h without driving and out of range of the key(?!!!) it apparently works again for them.

In Lithuania we have free 50kw charges. Some of them with reduced power, but I think it worths. The standard price at Ionity is insane :)

This looks like total misery. The infrastructure for EV's remains in a pathetic state.
