Fantastic video! My comment is gonna be a bit long, apologies in advance. It's currently September of 2024 and later this month I am signed up for a 2 day motorcycle course that, if I pass, the MVD will give me a motorcycle license. I slowly got into motorcycles over the course of 2 years ENTIRELY because I have been using an ebike since October 2022. Using it for literally everything except grocery runs and long distance trips (which are very rare for me, maybe once every two months and only for an overnight trip). I'm still anxious about the class, but others tell me not to worry. My goal is to purchase an S2 Del Mar around my birthday, early February. I'm nearing 40 years old and am probably subconsciously going through some version of a midlife crisis, but in reality I am kinda like, "you know what? Forget what everyone else says, I'm living my life how I want." -- I have been eating up any and all videos on KZbin regarding the Del Mar or electric motorcycles in general, and it's REALLY quite amazing how fast other bikers, upon me telling them I want an electric one, they downplay the idea and often try to convince me it isn't worth it. I'm always curious as to why they feel the need to say what I can and cannot do with the money I work for. 7:30 - Dude gets it, damn does he nail it here... MOST of the reason I want an electric motorcycle is for these reasons. I LOVE the fact that it is quiet, that cannot be overstated. I already am a person who loves anonymity, so the thought of just zipping around town in total silence (I also usually travel at odd hours for work and for things like shopping, very early morning stuff) is alluring. The torque also gets me too, the Del Mar's torque makes me smile every time I see a video on it, so I can only imagine what riding it must be like. Not to mention, I'm not exactly mechanically inclined, the idea that there is basically zero maintenance (and from what I understand if you need any, you just take it back to the dealer), no oil, no air filter, nothing, that's extremely tempting for someone like me. Of course, there are tradeoffs. I'm seemingly 5 months out from owning one of these, however I'm ALREADY scouting out multiple level 2 charging points in my area for the "just in case" thing... Unfortunately I live in an apartment, so level 1 charging is not an option HOWEVER my apartment has 12 level 2 chargers that were built when this place went up, so everything is brand new. Not to mention my job (a mere 5 miles away) also has free level 2 charging. So for a day to day charge thing? I see zero issues.... Though I am extremely curious that if battery technology does improve, would LiveWire make the older models upgradable? So like, for example they're claiming in BEST case scenario that the current Del Mar (bearing in mind weight of rider, type of riding, wind, hills etc...) can get 113 city miles (in reality we know it's like between 60 and 90 miles)... If somehow 2 years from now they develop a FAR better battery that a double that range, would the battery be swappable to older models? We know for a fact they'd charge a hearty price for it, but this would show they really want to take care of their customers rather than just say to older ones, "yeah that sucks, you should buy an entirely new bike!" Who knows, I may chicken out at the last minute and get a gas bike instead, but I'm for sure going down the motorcycle path now.

Hi Matt and Libby! Wonderful and insightful. I have driven the bolt and a few Kia/Hyundai EVs and have loved them all. I currently own stock and keep buying more shares in Ford, Rivian, and in battery technology QuantumScape as they seem like they are well positioned for the future of transportation. Who else should I be looking at in your opinion? And Libby, when can we make more music? 😅
