Plugging in your EV will become near impossible very soon, unless you can charge at home. A charging system at home costs around $10,000 above the cost of the car.
The Electric Grid is simply not equipped to handle so many new EV. We are burning more coal to make up for the shortfall in demand. Industry is making bad decisions for our planet.
I have a design idea that may help. A solar panel that can be retrofit to any EV that can charge your EV while not in use, which is about 22 hours per day.
I will begin a series of build videos that will explore how you can build your own.
Should you still have questions, I answer every comment and email.

Looking forwards to your DIY photovoltaic cells. People need to understand that Oil and even power companies are spending millions to keep us dependant on them. EVs are 1/2 of the solution. They are not the problem. The grid problem is not what you make it out to be. The grid is almost entirely not government owned in the US. These owners would love to sell us more electricity and will upgrade their equipment to do it. You have swallowed the fud that somehow all the upgrade needs to be done with government funds, right now. The key here is that we need to grow the EV fleet at a reason pace. We may need to throttle it at some point unless we can get more solar. Bring it on.

Hi Dan. Long time no hear from you. Great to have your input. Thank you so much. You are absolutely correct. The grid needs to increase more than double, and I don't see that happening for 50 years or more. EV needs to not be tied to the grid at all.

@@GEOsustainable Bingo. It is a crime that the US is harnessed with expensive photovoltaic prices. In my opinion the 50 years is due to the organized resistance not funding or technology. The powers that be want our money. Decentralization is key.

I wanted to ask you, as a chemist, because I am chasing my tail with this question, if embossing powder is PMMA or polymethyl acrylate? I was thinking (something best kept to a minimum lol !) if, nail acrylic powder, which I am fairly sure IS PMMA, would melt with a heat gun in the same way embossing powder does? and if so, would it be worth trying as its a whole lot cheaper than embossing powder? I will check back every couple of days to see if you saw this and know the answer, otherwise I will put notifications on and try to catch you in your next video. Congrats on the Million you deserve much more views!

I am not a Chemist, more of an Alchemist at best. I am a former Electrical Engineer, that fell over a Research and Development job and was a paid inventor most of my career. I wore all the hats, so to speak. The video you commented on previously was made with milk, so it is Casein. The one where I precipitated Acrylic from floor wax is pure PMMA. I am positive the nail acrylic will melt nicely. Precipitate the Acrylic from Nail Polish the same way I showed you how to extract it from floor wax. 25% solids or higher is best. I prefer working with the Embossing Powder I made with milk, as it does not melt under heat and is far easier to grind up. Acrylic is like grinding rocks, but I think folks like that is melts and gives a raised texture to their creations. Acrylic is waterproof. Casein is not waterproof. Thank you, it did take far too long to make 1 million, so glad I stuck with it. I am just having fun, so what the AI thinks is unimportant. It will be out by Jan 1. Starting the new year out with a bang.

There are some things you should consider. I drive a Chevy Volt PHEV that runs 99% on electricity, charged on a normal US plug with no special charger installed at home. It has a 14kWh battery, that trickle charges every night at about 3kW. It has a smaller grid load than my air conditioner. On long trips I simply put gas in the tank and it has a 600km range (battery+fuel). Today, a PHEV is the most economical and environmentally friendly option. More cars can be made with smaller batteries, and even when charged from carbon sources, they are still more efficient than an ICE vehicle (in most cases). I've had this car for over 5 years now, and would be happy to share my utility bills, gas receipts, total mileage, and answer any other questions!

The opening comment makes it hard to get started. It cost $500 for my Tesla charger and I installed it myself worked great for over 5 years. Y0u clearly do not have an understanding of power generation. The power companies have a gigantic amount of reserve power for off-peak charging and the EV adaption is something the power gen market has been needing for 20 years. You also need to research how much it cost in electricity to refine a gallong of gasoline. My research shows that taking the right amount of crude oil and refining it into gasoline for your car that can operate the car for 300 miles at 30 mpg takes about over 200kW of ELECTRICITY. My Tesla Model 3 Performance only needs 72 kW of battery power to cover the same 300 miles.:)

Do you live in a 250 unit apartment building in NYC? Do you? No, it is clear you do not. You have no idea of the problem if this is your argument. This reserve power you speak of is produced with coal. You're funny, saying to an Electrical Engineer I don't understand power generation. Not many cars get 30 MPG. Stay tuned and learn how I am going to solve the problem for EVERYONE, not just Tesla owners. Your numbers are revealing. I do hope you watch my next video, I give away a patent design. What opening comment? Saying hi folks?
