This was filmed in January 1996. Eva started to walking with a cane in June of 1996 due to hip pain, 5 months after this recording. Sadly, she learned she had cancer from melanoma and passed away in November of 1996. We lost the most beautiful, promising female singer for generations. RIP Eva and thank you for staying you during your too short life.

Don, if you want to experience another "10" song by her you need to do her version of "Over the Rainbow." Find the video of the same show as this one. People who don't care anything about the song are captivated by her perfect singing and guitar skills. I dare say that it is probably one of the best all around performances that I have ever seen.

Eva is one of those artists that just draws you in every time you watch and listen to her. Her live rendition of "Over the Rainbow" from this same 1996 Blues Alley performance never fails to get to me. (It was filmed in Jan 1996, nine months before she died that following October of melanoma at aged 33.) "Autumn Leaves" is also another magical performance by her. Great reaction Don. By the way, these VHS video performances of her show at Blues Alley weren't even discovered until 2000, four years after she died

You will want to watch other covers from this venue, Live at Blues Alley. Songs to check out are Stormy Monday, Autumn Leaves, Fields Of Gold, Time After Time, I Know You By Heart, Over The Rainbow, Nightbird, Songbird etc. She died at 33 from melanoma cancer exactly 10 months after the recordings at Blues Alley. Thank you for sharing and keeping her memory and music alive.

She had a voice straight from Heaven!! Add my name to the list of people she moves every time I hear her. Sad to think that she was only here for a short time.

To scottandal: She is mesmerizing for me. Sad, but we still have her music to enjoy.

One possibility is that the images of walking under the shadows and within the thicket suggest limited visibility, the potential for getting lost, potential confusion.

This is a song written and recorded by Buffy Sainte-Marie. This is a good cover. She left out a verse or two.

So it’s not country, but Chris de Burgh did a tribute song for Eva called “Songbird” that is a heartbreaker.

Eva passed away at 33 not 30. This was sung in January 1996. She passed away in November 1996. This song written by Buffy Sainte-Marie in 1968. You should get some facts straight ahead of time.
