Eva has always that mature presence about her even when she was very young. As did Rita and Andrea. Love them all!

I am mad about Andrea, Eva and Rita! They melt my foolish heart in every single song and make me feel quite insane and young again...

I think there's a whole cadre of us out there, Mr. Mike ... They are quite lovely to start with. Then, there's those voices and that singing ability. And if that were not enough ... they reach down and pick up something brass and you go ... WHAT?

Love this group. All are very talented. The group has a certain informality (even imperfections) that makes them REAL and enjoyable. I know each one. I love the girls and admire the guys. The appeal here is that you feel like you are in a night club and close to the stage. You want to talk to them. I am a fan of Charlie Parker and I notice that many of the songs you play are the same ones he played.

I absolutely adore this band and so I would like to make a suggestion about horn comping with a singer. You can blow more freely as long as you are in a different range than the singer. interwoven lines that drop out when the singer enters, set her up with a phrase then give her some space. If you do play at the same time as the singer plan a harmony to her melody rather than play the same note. in other words either support her melody with a harmony or set her up with interwoven phrases. Listen to horn comps in big band arrangements. Your instincts are great and always go with them. this is just helpful tips i've acquired from twenty years of arranging small cabaret combos and backing up singers with trumpet. Disclaimer: Always check with your bandleader (Joan) before taking advice from strangers. :)

I see that on this piece but you'll admit there is vast improvement overall.Each singer usually had to play an instrument to get there.

Someday she'll play it like Jack Sheldon.

These young ladies become incredibly sexy although most of them would not meet model standards. Why? Because they are consistent. They breathe Jazz, they live Jazz, they are Jazz through and through. You just have to look at Rita Payes around 1:00 to see what I mean. This concentration. This living with the tonal lines of the others. Dedication at its best.

Wow impressive! Just a thing. Maestro Terraza playing a 'CASIO PRIVIA'? come on tv guys!!!. He is a humble guy but he deserves and stenway at least.

He normally appears on a quality Yamaha concert grand or a top Shigaru Kawai
@paulsj92454 жыл бұрын
I suppose that they had to bring their instruments to this TV studio - a tad difficult with a grand ;) Otherwise, a pianist's fate is to play what is present at the venue. At times, I had to commiserate Ignasi!
