This man is a “hero”..., this man is a “gift” to us all..., most likely from a higher being... He is the “epitome” of what a doctor is/should be..., and a great “bedside manner” (at least what I believe bedside manner is)... Wow, so glad you did this, what a fascinating subject ... what a blessing in this day and age to meet such a dedicated Dr ... and Eva was blessed to have him do the surgery ... my grandfather was a maxiofacial surgeon in the 30's to 70's fixing malformations and putting people back together after accidents/trauma ... today I care for my older brother who had a brain injury in the Navy 40 years ago, epilepsy and 40 years of meds have left him functioning at an 6 year old level ... not much can be done, but at least the meds have gotten better to control his seizures in the last 20 years ... Eva looks so happy, glad it all worked out well ... and thanks for doing the video ... I learned a lot ... our overall health is everything ... and the "pumpkin war's" story at the end was terrific ... put a big smile on my face

GREAT Video Mike, Years ago I was a Biomedical Technician working in the local hospital repairing Medical Equipment. And spent a lot of time in the Surgical Suites while they were doing Brain Surgery as well as other surgeries. I give those Doctors a lot of Credit for their Dedication. Some of those surgeries were 16 to 20 hours long.

You will never know how many folks you may have helped. Thanks to Eva's willingness to share her Young Lifes painful experiences, many others may be spared this painful experience. And as a mother Melissa bares the pains from 4 children, each with their own pain and suffering. Thank you for sharing this story on your channel. I am 49, and I have recently been diagnosed with 1.9cm Chiari. My surgery is next week. He will likely remove part of the top 2 or 3 vertebrate. I have never had surgery before, not even a broken bone. I do not even have debilitating symptoms; mostly just a tingle in mid-back and shooting down arms when I sneeze. I am not afraid. I know I need the surgery. I just do not know everything about it, yet. I am very grateful you posted this. It feels like a very down to earth perspective that I cannot get from the videos produced by the medical community. And I found it very comforting... more closely tied to a community or a support group. Thank you.

Mike, I love your interviews! This was one of the best! Dr. Friedlander learned at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston MA. What an incredible hospital and staff! Both our kids were born there. My daughter had neurosurgery at Childrens in Boston and her surgeon also performed this operation on our friends daughter. Amazing surgeons doing amazing things and making a difference in peoples lives.

I watched the video with some reservations for the first few minutes and then I was hooked!!! Absolutely fascinating and very informative. To my knowledge, there is no one in my family that suffers from any of the symptoms that were described, but I will keep the memory of what you did on your video always and it may be of help to some one that I meet down the road. I can relate with Dr. Friedlander. Both of my brothers and my sister are pharmacists, as well as myself. I also realized that the 6 years I spent in college at Purdue University was an investment in my future. I am proud to say that I've been in pharmacy since 1982, when i was still in college, and am still practicing today. It is very satisfying helping and educating patients about their medications.

This doctor is fantastic. I love how he explains things. I think that people are apprehensive because they don't understand what is going to happen to them in the procedure. He made me feel I would travel to the hospital where he practices if I needed a procedure he specializes in. Thank you doctor for what you do and fixing our dear Eva.
