I'm sensing a pattern. Uldren Sov was guilty of mass genocide, the murder of Cayde-6, and betraying his own people, yet he was granted the Light, and Savathun was guilty of using the Darkness, ending countless worlds, and she almost destroyed the Last City, and the Traveler found her worthy. I like that, I like Uldren and Savathun, and I hope that Savathun returns, and I think that maybe there can be peace between humanity and the Hive. Variks, Mithrax and his House of Light, the Spider and his syndicate, Empress Caiatl and her struggling Empire, and now a Hive God who was granted the Light, I like that.

Not sure about the Vex tho. We kind of destroyed their heart in D1. But I can imagine the Vex joining the Witness.

Jesus. Savathûn dying in front of the Traveler actually has me feeling kind of emotional. It’s the acting, the music, and the animation. But what really hits me is what Savathûn is doing. She seems to realize there’s a good chance the Traveler won’t bring her back. But she doesn’t care, because even if she dies here and now she refuses to be subservient to the Witness anymore. She’s willing to give up her own life just to be free and possibly even to try and do something good in her lifetime. Since Immaru got away it seems pretty likely that Savthûn will return at some point. If she does, I really hope we can work with her.

@@Mr-Moron Highly doubt that, but okay, it is another possibility, but I really feel bad for the hive now, they were alike as of many other lost civilizations, tricked by the witness and the deep, and got mind corrupted and only seek for blood and lost her memory of what really happened, and what she did was simply a puppet controled and led by the witness, himself. They were once just a peaceful race becoming dark only by being tricked by the deep and the traveler and the witness.

I feel like they might come back to tell us the truth about both the Traveller and the Black Fleet. Both of them have some deep connection with both entities. Eramis is obsessed with getting revenge on the traveler as she was there to witness everything that took event during the whirlwind. She also knows how to wield stasis thus she might have some sort of idea about the Pyramids. I’m thinking when we seek for the truth, we will free her from her stasis form and get her to tell us everything she knows/has discovered about both the entities. And then when another problem arises, Savathun comes back to meet us and then she tells us what she knows too.

Bungie did it... They rekindled my love for what used to be one of my favorite games. I quit in August and didn't play again until last Tuesday. The Exercise mission was a true disappointment and ruined all hope for Witch Queen. At 2:26pm I logged into D2. No wait, no bugs, no crashes. It was as smooth as butter. Then I began to play and as I played I began to smile. I had more fun the first 3 hours of Witch Queen than I did playing the whole of the last two expansion DLCs... PERIOD! Thank you Bungie for proving me wrong. I often hate being wrong, but in this case I couldn't be happier! Can Bungie keep the momentum going? I freaking hope so, 'cause I'm having a blast. Destiny 2 is currently my favorite game of 2022. That says a lot being that it was the game I was disappointed in and hated the most for the past 2 years.

Once upon the time, I said Savathun is fully aware of what she is... I was wrong. She beat Mara by seeing herself in her and accepting what she is, constantly a step ahead of everyone and acting like an old friend... we know she did this to troll us. But all of us including Savathun were dead wrong... she had that capacity to be resurrected as a guardian from the very beginning. Savathun, flawed and manipulative s she was, has the capacity as a hero buried there after a century of sin. She never steals the light (she believes she did). The traveler gave it to Sapona of Fundament willingly in hope that she can still be redeemed. It is also the ultimate test for humanity... can they see goodness inside the person like Savathun and forgive her to unite against the Witness. In a war, you need every card to win. Savathun cunning and Hive guardian is indispensable for what come next. But are humanity capable of the greatest feat of the light. To shine upon and darkness and accept the human underneath. The monster is sent to the graveyard and the traveler just play monster reborn.

I say we somewhat failed the test, for now anyway. There's much bad blood between humanity and the hive, even if Qrow (indirectly) said to Savathun that she could still be forgiven. I still think us enforcing our claim to the Light was ultimately necessary out of necessity for Humanity's survival. If the Witness shows up on Earth again and we have no light to back us up, were screwed for good.

If she sealed away the traveler, humanity would have been lightless and defenseless.

What makes it even more tragic is that a follower of the light, the Leviathan, basically told the three sisters to return to the travellers light for that reason, and to stop the World Gods from escaping their prisons. They ignored it and made the deal with the Worm Gods instead.

It's kind of morbidly hilarious when you think about it, in the absolute worst way. Prior to the past couple of years (in terms of storylines and lore churned out by the seasons we've gotten), we only saw the Fallen and Hive as our worst enemies, even above the Vex and Cabal, just because of how much utter MALICE they had for humanity. And we slaughtered each other for centuries feuding over our philosophies, many of which included how we perceived the Traveler. And now with Witch Queen, look how much has changed. With Mithrax, we now have Eliskni allies within the City, and they're pretty fucking baller (Eido must be protected or else there will be war). Their Splicer abilities also offer a new pathway to the Light we didn't have access to before. And out of everybody, it turns out the mother-fucking HIVE were supposed to receive the Light potentially BEFORE either the Eliksni or humanity did. And the only, ONLY reason they didn't get it is because the Witness and the Worm Gods suckered Sathona into choosing the Deep, when there was literally no reason to. God, Mithrax and Savathun just need to be drinking buddies so they can commiserate over how badly their species got fucked over. No fucking wonder the Witness is described as the ultimate enemy of Destiny (from the leaks that came out in the summer), it really is just an absolute fucking shitter.

I’d honestly like to see a movie about the origins of each race in the game: A story about how Aurash, Sathona, and Xi Ro became Oryx, Savathûn, and Xivu Arath and created their dynasties, seeing the Fallen when they had the Light and how they became bands of pirates, Emperor Calus’ reign and what Cabal civilization was like before, and did you they say anything about the Vex’s origins? I recall that Panoptes was the first Vex in the solar system who was responsible for changing Mercury I think

If you think about it, All of Savathuns past actions, along with Oryx and Xivu were not their own choices, they were all lied to by the darkness, then once they had the worms, their choices were forced to be made based on what the worms wanted to be done or they would die. They took the Darkness in order to survive and save their world, but it came at the cost and lives of many other worlds. The traveler likely understood Savathun was held against her will, saw her life, her plan and saw her scheming to remove the worm so she was no longer held captive by the darkness. Savathun was Devoted to her people of Fundament, she was brave enough to seek the darkness, and she sacrificed pretty much her soul, her peoples free will, everything to save them despite the disaster being a lie, her actions weren't selfish, she was trying to protect her people from going extinct. Now that Savathun no longer had her worm inside her, she could finally be chosen by the Traveler like what was originally intended, and now the Traveler hopes she can be useful in defeating the darkness. We all have a part to play in the Travelers game, Guardians shouldn't forget, they had an ugly past too, full of tyrants and warlords, that the Eliksni do as well, and so do the Cabal. In the Travelers eyes, no one is exempt from redemption.

thank god its full spoilers on display. i was totally gutted when we find that sagira didn't make it, was hoping like ghost did that we would find her safe again but im glad that bungie gave us some closure on her. the way everyone kept saying stole the light i knew it wouldnt be that from second 1as with out the worm she was good as dead and as we saw in the red war you try to take the light you get burned up. what i didnt expect was her acting like she remembered the entire time only for us to help her get the memories back like she had planned all along and the big reveal that the hive had been tricked the entire time and that they were supposed to have had the light instead of us just blew my mind.

Feels like they're pushing the narrative to a point where the Traveller will have an actual physical embodiment, similar to how the Darkness has the Witness. I understand people are more attached to the story if there is a face behind an ideal, instead of shapes, but I don't like how it always boils down to everything in the universe taking on a physical appearance (SW is another example of this, with the Clone Wars & Rebels series, where the same thing happens with the force). Also the whole design of the Witness is amazing, except the eyes

If uyour talking about the Father, Son, and Daughter, to be fair they were more like incarnations or deeper aspects of the force. I don't think they were meant to be one in the same. And can we all agree that the Traveler is low key an a-hole. The thing jumps ship every time the darkness shows up. The only reason earth didn't suffer the same fate was because the War Mind Rasputin did something to force it to stay. Now what the Traveler did to make the Black Ships go away Bungi will need to do a lot of hoop jumping to make it make sense.

Correct me if i am wrong.. The witness is speaking to the Traveler in the end? Because if that's the case, then what possibly "you left no pieces left to place" could mean? Did traveler trying to create something with all characters that are "disappearing" in the last moment? "This time there is no escape, so that mean Traveler is actually running from Witness for some reason? "Pale heart hold the key" does that mean Witness wants something that is inside the Traveler, a source? I know that Traveler is a sentient machine, but still..

Yes and kinda no not the biggest fan for it I mean it could look cool but for now it's pretty terrible The eyes are goofy the ears are kinda awkward and the shoulders just make her look skinny and weak and the skirt makes her look like a wizard Also I get her design is based off Seth the egyptian god of war but like it doesn't convey that at all
