My bottle is just OK. Very light on flavor. Also barreled in 2014. To me, Heaven Hill bottled in bond is much better in every way. We just started getting it in Washington and I found it at Costco for $48.

the 2015 are bangers, 9 year 2 months, 32 bucks, great summer sippers. They are everywhere now, im in NY. in oak jan 2015 barrel march 2024, barrel 538

There are a bunch sitting on the shelf at my local Total Wine. I'll probably head in there pretty soon and pick one up.

There are 3 bottles on the shelf in Palm Desert, Ca. Total Wines. Vintage is 2015 and bottled this year. The price point is around 30 for a nearly 9 year product. Think I will pick one up just because.

A very fair review. It's not bad but not something I reach for. Mine was barreled in 2014. Are you going to review at least one bottle for each of the Distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trial?

That would be a great idea. I am not sure what distilleries are on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, but I do have a total of 14 single barrel bottles to review during this current Monday series. I'm sure some of them or most of them will be from distilleries on the trail.

@@whiskeyisajourney If you do the Kentucky Bourbon Trail theme and get to Town Branch I got to say their Bourbon was a let down for me. However, they make the best Kentucky single malt, especially if you can get ahold of one of their single malt single barrels. Their Ryes are hit or miss.

I liked it better when it was a $35 bottle. Last trip to KY, I saw it for $53 everywhere. Both my bottles were bottled in 2014. 🥃

As always, great video, Peter! I agree that this bottle is a little lacking. Do you think that is due to the proof? This bottle was one of the first bourbons that got me excited about the journey and specifically finding some flavor notes. It was a sweet vanilla banana nut bread for me. It was light, but I think I appreciated that getting started. The low proof and now the limited distributions is a bummer.

Yes. For me I think it's the proof. Based on the place I am in my journey, I am leaning more towards higher proof bottles. My favorite low proof bourbon I've had is the Woodford Reserve Historic Barrel Entry release at 90.4 proof.

For me in my area, these were kind of scarce. Deadwood came still real. They all got scooped up. I got one back and put it in the bunker then today when I go to get some lotto, I saw the store got a case of the 2015 vintage. The price was $41 now. I may open both now and compareZ

I see them on the shelf again after being absent for a while. I think I will pick up another bottle and do a comparison. Keep exploring different whiskey if your budget allows. There are a tremendous amount of good bottles out there at a good price .Cheers!

I thought they were supposed to be distillery release only or Kentucky release only, but I walked into Total Wine here in Phoenix yesterday and it's sitting on the shelf after being gone for a few months. I wonder if they changed their minds.
