FIXING BUBBLES IS EASY MY FRIENDS!!! STEPS: 1. Use dermal or some sort of grinder to drill out the resin that is directly over the entire air bubble. 2. Clean off any dust that was produced by the grinding. Make sure it is 100% clean and dry. 3. Coat with another layer of resin. This will fill in the hole evenly and you won't see the grind marks as the resin turns them invisible. I've done this many times over years and never had any issues with it as most resins are self leveling.
@EvanAndKatelyn5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the tips! We did try something similar but ended up making marks on the surface as well that were really hard to perfectly buff out

Years ago my family had a serving tray with coins embedded in the clear resin that covered the surface. Every Halloween we would put candy on the tray - but not too much of it so that the coins were still visible. Oh what fun we had watching children try to take coin money instead of candy! Eventually they would give up and opt for sugar treats but not before they tried everything they could think of to to enrich themselves with those so-hard-reach coins!! I still laugh thinking about it - I wish it was October...

Not to cast shade on your lovely art piece, but since you titled this as a “serving board” I really think you should note that the resin recommended is *not* food-grade safe for any extended contact. What that means is, according to TotalBoat’s own website, the slow hardening resin contains BPA, which has been linked to female reproductive toxicity. This *should only* be an art piece and not used for any food service. You can use food-grade safe resin, but this example doesn’t use food-grade safe resin. Same goes for the jacquard alcohol inks. They’ve not been tested for food safety, but to assume they are safe for extended food contact isn’t a good example to set. Overall, I love your work, but in this case - and for future videos - please use only tested food-grade safe materials for items coming into extended direct contact with food.

Bro chill. I don’t understand how people can’t just enjoy content and not stress yourself out over details like if it can be used for the original purpose. People buy expensive cook ware (fine china, custom made pans and cutting boards, etc.) for decorative purposes and have been for decades.
