Evander wasn't goat but he always gave 110% every fight. Best conditioned heavyweight ever. He never stopped pumping. You had to knock his brains out to stop him...

Holy was a dirty fighter, elbows headbutts, holding when he felt threatened or hurt.and how did he get bulked up so fast,,and Lennox was hardly at his peak when he fought him

WTF are you talking about you idiot? Evander was the SAME SIZE his entire heavyweight career. His body shape and size NEVER changed. Even as a rookie cruiserweight he was a huge muscled up adonis. Even now 10+ years in to retirement and in his 50's he still looks exactly the same. you want to see a dirty, head butting, elbow throwing scumbag in the right, wathc ANY Mike Tyson fight. Tyson was the dirtiest fighter of all time. Holyfield was NEVER accused on intentional head butts by a single ref his entire career.

I agree with Big Junz. It would be interesting to watch the Mercer - Tyson fight

I loved Holyfield growing up. He was a family favorite for us. But I've gotta admit that when I watch his fights now my opinion is a little different. He was kind of a dirty fighter. He would often lead with his head and then bring it up so that the back of his head would hit the eye or the nose of his opponents. Also, he would hit late, both after the bell and at the ref's breaks. You can see he did here when Mercer takes the knee for the knockdown. That's what lost him the gold medal and even though that was a different story you can see why it was called. He was a great boxer, puncher, fighter and champion without a doubt. I don't ever question his heart or work ethic but the man did bend the rules when he could...

You're right Evander was a dirty fighter but he was still a great fighter even tho imo he got lucky in some of his fights by using diry tactics

Old school fighters were trained to keep their chin and head low and in their opponents chest. When both guys are doing it they clash heads a lot. Its not dirty, it the way they old school fighters were trained for over a century. I have seen every fight of Evanders career and I never once saw him internally head butt anyone. No ref ever accused him of internal head butts or even warned him of intentional head butts. There is a big difference being fighting an aggressive hard nosed physical style and being a dirty fighter. You want to see a dirty fighter who Intentionally head butts people in every single fight? Watch a Mike Tyson fight.

Well, Holyfield went to full 12 rounds against someone like Alex Stewart... that guy lasted only few secs against Tyson. Then again, you cant explain how Mercer struggled and lost to Jessie Ferguson and 40+ years old Holmes. Ferguson also beat Douglas before Douglas beat Tyson. I guess every boxer came into a fight with different preparation and different physical condition. Also, style makes fight.

Holyfield fought stewart twice the first time he knocked him out, the second time he wanted to go the distance cause he was about to fight Bowe the second time and wanted to prove he could box not brawl with him.

From what the video showed, Mercer was winning the earlier rounds then got tired and evander started winning. My problem with evander is that he uses his head as a third fist.

I've seen every fight Evander ever had and I never once saw him internally head butt anyone. You want to see someone throw INTENTIONAL headbutts and elbows to the head in every single fight? Watch a Mike Tyson fight.Tyson was the dirtiest fighter I ever saw. Ironically it was Tyson who started the headbutt accusations againt Evander, after Evander had gone through 90% of his career and NEVER been accused of head butting. Tyson, after headbutting everyone he ever fought, cried like a little bytch that Evander was headbutting him.

Someone asked about a Mercer vs. Tyson back then. My money would be on Ray Mercer. He was brave and bad. He was under rated . I don't think Tyson could have stood up to what this guy dished out. He was very hard to hurt too.
