43yr old black guy here. You know you’re not the only one!

Do black guys not normally like white female singers? I'm just asking the question as I really like Beyonce and other black women. I just never feel the need to write that I am a 37 year old white guy and Beyonce is still my favourite singer in pop music. Just saying.
@carycoller31404 жыл бұрын
@@vxrdrummer I'll put it this way. I don't know any other black men who listen to her, or for that matter, have even heard of her or Evanescence. Same for Linkin Park. I love that music too but no one in my circle of friends or general acquaintances even knows who Chester is. They all think I'm odd. I consider myself musically open minded, except for rap, which I detest.

I’m a black guy under 30 from the hood who grew up on rap and I love Evanescence, Paramore, and Three Days Grace. And I know for a fact I’m the only one out my circle who bumps that type of music. So you’re not alone bruh...lol. I bump their music heavy in addition to my regular rap/R&B rotation. Ppl are always surprised when those songs play in my car cuz I guess I don’t fit the “look” of someone they expect to like that type of music. But I mess with all type of music if it connects with my spirit. Music is universal.

It's so good to see her face! Ev's music for me is like.. there's this string of feelings that are "forbidden" and unwanted and not talked about by people.. and when I hear their music I feel relieved, and validatet somehow. I do relate to these tumultuous feelings, and I'm glad she's brave enough to put them out in the world in form of healing sounds.

Amy is such an inspiration to me.... Evanescence was one of the first bands I ever loved, definitely the first rock band I got into. Her voice and message, and the fact that she came on here with no makeup on, just real and unedited, just wanting to talk about music, and give us music to help us keep our heads up is awesome. I hope I get to see evanescence again and I am so happy that they’re still putting out music despite it all!! Stay well Amy and James 🤘🏻

The last few minutes of that interview seriously hit HOME! I'm the same age and I've been having the same kind of inward, internal struggle with 'Life', acceptance, choice, mindfulness, questioning purpose & place... I've recently been fighting to find myself after a severe depressive episode (episode meaning years) under which I absolutely came so very close to giving up & honestly, it's still a daily battle. I suppose it's a tad relieving to know it isn't just me fighting this same sense of 'disillusionment'... Even if I'm technically doing it alone 💔 cue tears 😢 Awesome interview ♥️

What an amazing interview you’ve done with Amy; I’ve always known her to be such an exceptional woman both professionally & otherwise but my goodness she really has quite a fantastic way when it comes to expressing how she’s felt over the last couple of years Musically I’m beginning to notice a slight change in direction; unlike previous albums like “Fallen”, “The Open Door” & the self titled “Evanescence”, their upcoming new album “The Bitter Truth” will have more diversity & a surprisingly darker, heavier Rock vibe previously non present on their last releases “Lost Whispers” & “Synthesis”, but also surprisingly it’s combined with Electronic elements that’s gonna re-energize their music both for long time fans & first timers

So many people come across in a interview like "I am so damn Good just ask me" and somewhat put a mask on so they don't show us common folk the real person behind the face but our Amy certainly doesn't do that and I(and I'm sure you do too) feel so privileged. Compared to 10 years ago she has come out of her shell for us fans to see the true shine of her soul and her lovely natural self as a down to earth person that she would be if we all knew her and sitting round having a coffee and a bickie with her.. Love her for that too.

She has a high IQ, talks fast, thoughts occur quickly. High functioning.
@Stand-Alone-Complex4 жыл бұрын
I'm annoyed by the fact that you associate intelligence and IQ (outdated anyway) with talking fast and thinking quickly. I got news for you... lmao. Thinking fast and speaking fast has nothing to do with being smart, yes I'm sure its attributed to one form of intelligence, but verbal skills can be taught and exercised. There are also really genius ppl that talk slowly so that they can generate even more intellectual thoughts before speaking as that us their technique. Low and high speaking functionality ultimately though doesnt prove anything. She is smart though, but I already knew that from her artistic contributions alone.
