"Am I too lost to be saved", "Do you remember me, lost for so long", "Will you be on the other side, will you forget me?" I feel these questions deeply in my being/existence, that's why this melody resonates for all of us who are trying to understand life beyond us.

@@ggmode9819 You are wrong, Tourniquet was neither intended nor meant to be a Christian song, it is dedicated to a girl who committed suicide, the lyrics were written on paper, supposedly her last words. The song is addressed to the soul that left unfairly, Evanescence created the song in memory of the girl who committed suicide. The song's lyrics are about a young woman who is struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. She feels like she is trapped in a dark place and that there is no way out. She eventually decides to end her life. The song is a powerful and emotional ballad that addresses the issue of suicide. It is a reminder that suicide is a serious problem and that it is important to reach out for help if you are struggling.

@@nikolasd7387Evanescence's song "Tourniquet" is a cover of the Soul Embraced song "My Tourniquet". A christian melodic death metal band. Rocky Gray (the drummer of Evanescence) played in that band as well as in Living Sacrifice, another christian metal band.

I will never understand how suicide is a "sin". It's the last resort of so many people in incredible pain. If heaven exist, and if that person was good all their life and the only sin they've committed was ending themselves, they should be allowed in heaven.
@hoshi-61907 ай бұрын
@@marianadamelioIt's because according to christianism, it's as if God gave you the gift of life, and you decided to throw it away. But I agree with you, many people that didn't deserve hell must have went there through suicide, which is really sad. So we should always try to find happiness in life despite our situation, because "killing the pain" will just make it worse. And even if you aren't a christian, there are always people that care about you and great things that can only be felt while alive.

This is my favorite Evanescence song, bar none. So underrated. Everyone turned away from them when the biblical ties started to come in heavier, but I truly don’t mind… and where I am now is much different spiritually than when I first began to enjoy this song. I didn’t believe in god, I loved this song. I do believe in god, I still love this song. Masterpiece.

I believe in a very different sort of God than the average christian.
@blazinga12008 ай бұрын
Yeah, I more or less don’t believe in god like I did when I was younger. For me, it’s that I long for the grave and think about dying every day. The only thing is I don’t know what will happen when I die. I don’t fear it at all…obviously. I just don’t know what will happen when I do. I don’t think life is at all what I was led to believe. The funny thing is, I can state with absolute certainty that the Christian god does not exist but I still love the song. So yeah…I am like the other commenter…I don’t believe in the Bible but that doesn’t take away from the song at all.

This song is about a girl who attempted suicide and is now asking God to forgive her. It brings up the question of whether or not you can enter heaven if you take your own life. A tourniquet is a device used to stop bleeding, usually by choking off an artery so the blood can't flow out. In the song, God is the tourniquet.
