There is a lot going on around the world right now. Nurses here in the Philippines were banned of going overseas to serve outside their country. Then, they’ve been overworked and underpaid in their own country while fighting the ongoing pandemic, it’s like leaving them no choice but to work uncompensated. This song touched my heart as a Filipino Nurse. Thank you Evanescence. 🥰

How does not wearing makeup change anything she has to say? She would be just as authentic with a face full of makeup. Her choice, her style, her words/music. Her appearance and what she chooses to do with her own body has absolutely nothing to do with it.
@allangochin3760
@allangochin3760 4 жыл бұрын
@@Nika-cl2gg I feel it just shows intentionally to make this rawer. Amy usually always has makeup on and this aesthetic of this video is more raw and dark but is meant to be a light of hope. Kinda like a war feeling setting. Plus Amy lately in the videos hasn't been wearing makeup lately, which obviously she doesn't need to, she's absolutely gorgeous without any. Makeup in culture and society has become something that can be taken to gain power and control and represent independence, such as back in the day's women wore red lipstick During World War II, red lips had their bold second act of defiance. Adolf Hitler "famously hated red lipstick," In Allied countries, wearing it became a sign of patriotism and a statement against fascism. Also in other countries. Really interesting to read about! like if you notice a lot of women in the video are not wearing makeup. Remember besides this video being about voting and using your voice to make a difference in your country, the band has several female artists featured in it, since she said it was also the power of Women! :) I feel these videos as little easter eggs if you really look carefully. Like if you notice in beginning Amy raised her arm in the air with the firecracker ( i think that's what it is) and it almost looked like she was holding up in the posture of lady liberty. For the record, I've been deeply analyzing this video, and a lot of it is coming from what I've learned in school and from research myself and little things catch you eye, so this could possibly not be exactly what she intended to do, or could be! :) But it's pretty cool to think about and wonder how much thought went behind making this behind the scenes and what's going through their head when they planned the video.

But when people are gonna follow their duties ? It’s all about rights but duties ? No one even know those exists. To be a citizen is to follow ur duties too. I don’t see any of those people doing it , since they are protesting outside without masks. I like the instrumental of the song tho. And the lyrics are good in another context.

@@allangochin3760 Sorry for the late reply. I really like your take on the music video. And the facts about makeup in WWII are very interesting! And I understand what kind of vibe Amy was trying to achieve by not wearing any. I realize that makeup is an artistic device. I just didn't like the attitude of the original comment saying that by wearing makeup you somehow lose authenticity or lie to your audience. I think that is ridiculous. We needn't shame women for their choices concerning their body and face.

*["Use My Voice" Lyrics with Evanescence]* [Verse 1] Cover my ears and close my eyes Just long enough to stop the noise Go on, take everything and throw it away But I will use my voice [Refrain] Woah, woah, oh Woah, woah, oh [Verse 2] Drown every truth in an ocean of lies Label me "bitch" because I dare to draw my own line Burn every bridge and build a wall in my way But I will use my voice [Chorus] Woah, woah, oh Whether you like it or not, you're gonna take what I got Woah, woah, oh If we can't talk about it, we'll just keep drowning in it Give me credit or not, I give and I give a lot But don't you speak for me Woah, woah, oh No, don't you speak for me [Verse 3] Never mind me, I'm a waste of your time Never gonna fit in the box that you need And I can read between the lines, yeah Gather your friends and wave your gun in my face But I will use my voice [Chorus] Woah, woah, oh Whether you like it or not, you're gonna take what I got Woah, woah, oh If we can't talk about it, we'll just keep drowning in it Give me credit or not, I give and I give a lot But don't you speak for me Woah, woah, oh No, don't you speak for me [Bridge] Whether you like it or not Whether you like it or not Whether you like it or not Whether you like it or not One day soon It's gonna fall back on you No more lies We're gonna break right through Like it or not [Chorus] Woah, woah, oh If we can't talk about it, we'll just keep drowning in it Give me credit or not, I give and I give a lot But don't you speak for me Woah, woah, oh No, don't you speak for me Woah, woah, oh (Whether you like it or not) Don't you speak for me

Now THIS is the music video we've been waiting for since the debut of her new singles. I totally wasn't expecting to see Lzzy or Deena in this either which makes it even more epic! This year is so important far as voting goes. I'm so proud of Evanescence, Amy in particular, finally coming out and expressing their views on the current situation of her country and decided staying silent is no longer an option. Some of you may disagree with her stance but that is okay! Her intention is to make sure everyone get out there and vote this election and take her music will always be intended to draw together different colors and Creed to enjoy the art together. Evanescence will always be my absolute favorite band as no others' lyrics has resonated with me as closely as theirs do. Each new single this year is like a reflection of what's currently happening with our world now. So this November, I encourage you all to get out there, USE YOUR VOICE and VOTE.

I saw them live today, and it was fucking beautiful. She gave such a beautiful message before singing this song, that we're all in this together, and to never let anyone take away your own voice. I can't believe I actually saw her live, it feels kind of surreal.

Honestly Evanescence deserves more nowadays, but still the band is already history. Whatever they do, whatever they earn, they will always have some CLASSICS. I admit I don't listen to them everyday, but I listened to all their discography and although my fav. music/singers are others, they are AMAZING

@Anna Cecília I love Evanescence. It is Quality music and its raw form. I've been her fan since I was a kid. XD I'm just so use them only pushing like you said these pop and kpop songs and we dont see these rock bands that are amazing being pushed. She did do a song for the newest Gears of War in which I love so much. All her die heart fans have her back. XD these new age folks dont know what they are missing.

Anna Cecília I’ve listened to evanescence since 4th grade and I’m 17 now. All of these rap songs Megan the stallion writes about sex, and all of these other innapropriate and disturbing songs artist make today, like what’s the point in those lyrics? I’m so confused how society is making these songs that have absolutely NO concept and need to listen to. Evanescence is the only rock band I listen to. When I try to listen to other bands, I just always think if evanescence because I don’t want tot get addicted to another band because I LOVE evanescence so much! I might intrigue my consent with Halestorm and Within temptation because it’s usually always the underrated bands that have the BEST lyrics and the BEST and POWERFUL music to it! Amy lee is the reason why I am still alive. Attempted suicide 4 times but I don’t even know HOW evanescence has saved my life. Just me having that mind set of sayimg “I have got to share this message with Amy Lee one day”.. and listening to the meaning of her lyrics (even tho it’s very metaphoric and it took me a few years to understand the meaning of fallen and the open door and self titled... basically all the albums including new one)
