The title seems a little misleading - I expected a rundown of meta/broken builds throughout each game instead of just picking notable weapons/builds that were seen as broken at the time. If I had to add a few of my own: Dark Souls 2 - Mundane Santier's Spear, Warped Blade, Pyromancies (Flame Swathe was very abusable at the time) Dark Souls 3 - Lothric Knight Sword (Buffable and Infusing made it hit like a truck) Elden Ring - Rivers of Blood, Sword of Night & Flame (...yeah they need no introduction before their nerfs), if you want DLC representation - Impenetrable Thorns (the thing was absolutely insane before the nerfs)

The black sky eye in Bloodborne is broken because it's the only thing that doesn't have a soft cap at all and will scale all the way to 99 arcane and just cost 1 bullet and kills everything from range. The damage it has for a tiny eye pebble is hilarious.

I think a weapon worth mentioning was the Star fist/Iron balls build as it is a PvE monster that is easy to obtain early on if you're up for some NPC murder in Liurnia and obliterates boss health bars like nobody's business.

In regards to Bloodborne; I always thought the Church Pick from the DLC, was underrated. I think due to not being as flashy as other weapons in the game. I feel like I don’t see at the top of a lot of lists, or discussed often. However, it had a fantastic moveset in both forms and was unique in that it had both the serrated and church affix bonuses. I don’t think any other weapon had that. My personal favorite weapon. ❤

About the DS3 Dual Greatswords. DS3 was mostly a standard experience from day 1 till today. I only remember Estoc as the weapon that was killed shortly after release and the Dark Sword was another meta lost to time. But the Ringed City DLC changed a lot with patches. The angels of the DLC had *MINIGUNS!* people running today are lucky they didn’t see them pre-patch. Then there is the Greatswords I mentioned at the beginning… THEIR TRACKING WAS INSANE!! And also the poise damage! The first attack was a homing missile, super hard to dodge. And then if it connected, unless the enemy was a Havel, you would be free to connect THE ENTIRE DUAL WEAPON STRING! Of course that was patched in like the second week of the DLC and today against competent players you can only use the first 2 dual attacks otherwise you’re just asking to lose (stamina cost + punishments).

DS2: the most broken build is just everything at lv30 (lv up hp later). With this: I-frames from attunement Dark Orb, Resonant MACHINE GUN, Soul Arrow and bows with strong poison for spamming Poison, Dark and Toxic Fog Great Magic Weapon (and crystal for dlc and late game), Dark Weapon, Resonant Weapon, Sunlight Weapon (through spices or extra levels) and, if you want, Flame Weapon (Chaos Blade is better though, just buy fire resin) Yearn for enemy spam (aka play on easy mode), heals for hp and for effects, Repair, tons of AoE for big targets and gank bosses (no diff Authority with a single Fire Storm, Soul Greatsword, Scraps of Life, Darkstorm, Soul Appease or, my personal favorite, Heavenly Thunder) Sacred Oath and Great Magic Barrier for bosses and hard parts Rapier for bosses Manslayer for regular enemies and maybe bosses on late game Great Club access to murder the horses in Frigid Outskirts Sunset Staff for insane dark damage and good casting speed Whatever chimes you like (going lv 50 is such a waste just to equip the dragon chime which is not even that good). You can still probably get some points on vitality to wear Vengarl armor AND light roll. With this, the world is yours, you can do whatever you want and DS2 gives you enough souls to do this very early, and you can always start with Ascetic and farm the Rotten for instant builds without killing a single boss. For rings: always a Dragon Ring, Serpent Ring +1 for extra levels (or a soldier ring if you want to wear some piece of armor for extra drip after getting your levels), Stone Ring (trivializes things like Alonne Knights and the knights in Shrine of Amana) or a defensive ring against bosses, and either Chloranthy +1 or the Southern Ritual Band +1. Damage rings don't really help that much in this game. You are not dying to any specific level or boss because you lack those 35 points of ring of blades +1. There is also the power stance Smelter Hammer build, but you guys are not ready for this conversation.

I mean Bleed in General is absolutely nuts in Elden Ring. While it may not be as OP as it was at base you can still start with Samurai, shred the earlygame with an Uchigatana, grab a 2nd one if you really want. Then just level dex primarily to boost your damage. Later you can get Rivers of Blood or Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear depending on if you want dex or strength.

With the right gems you can not only completely negate the health drain of the chikage but also "false fire" the damage granting increased damage to beasts/anything weak against fire without changing the damage type. This was done by adding a gem that increases fire damage %, instead of one that adds fire damage.

Honestly most weapons in ER can become so ridiculously strong that you could argue for a spot on the list here, anything with innate bleed becomes a slaughtermachine with the right ashe of war, most katanas specially the unique ones remove healthbars in seconds, any big weapon making use of dualwield jump attacks doing 3k damage a hit, hell even standard straightsword spamming square off with like a crit build does unreasonable amounts of damage with a single fp bar.

I feel the need to add the Church Pick in Bloodborne. As a weapon with both Piercing/Thrusting damage AND "Righteous" damage, making it good against both Beasts and Otherworldly enemies. It was also infusible, had great scaling and made excellent use of some of the best gems you could get.

The Dragonslayer Greataxe from DS3 deserves at least an honorable mention. It had a ridiculous damage output and it could stagger enemies really easily with the skill, while also turning most of them into pancakes It's still one of my favorite weapons in DS3 and I tend to go back to it whenever I don't feel like relearning a bosses moveset. I just press L2 and let the weapon do the heavy lifting

Dark souls 2: basic rapier is good but I usually upgrade to the Espada ropera ASAP and then the Ice Rapier for final. Can’t forget to infuse the rapier and sunset staff with dark for EXTRA damage for dark hexes build. Otherwise tried and true:Swing a Big Stick build, Greatsword +10 lol

DS2's MLGS did pure magic damage, could be infused to do even more magic damage, and for a while could be BUFFED just like most weapons, including Crystal Magic Weapon, which would make it do absolutely obscene damage thanks to being 1 damage type combined with how DS2 handles weapon buffs. It was so strong it got patched into being one of the only weapons that couldn't be buffed period. There used to be a video on here of a guy doing duels in the arena and literally killing people in 2 hits (which were a true combo).

Grave Wardens were better than SsTb before the Rouge nerf. By a wide margin. Pyromancy was and still is leagues ahead of sorceries. Rapport, Hidden Body, Pestilent Mist, Dorhy's, Chaos Orb and Black Orb gives you the best toolset for literally every encounter. And you can use everything with Pyromancy Flame and Crystal Chime with no drawback. I'd argue miracles are better than sorceries because Great Heal heals more than an Estus and literally has triple the Estus efficiency. Stake, GLS/SLS and Dorhy's cover all your encounters while sorcs have to deal with magic resistant enemies and dark sorcs have low efficiency until that big boy from Ringed City.

Got the ice rapier last night in DS's 2. Possibly the best weapon in game. It's 2 shots most dlc enemies and I've barely put anything on dexterity. Killed the giant lord (ng+9) in 2 minutes.

In dark souls 2 the miracle side of hexes was the broken one, like sure the dark orb was very cheap to cast, but it has nothing on resonant souls. In dark souls 3 the paired greatswords weren't all that broken, they looked cool I guess, but any big weapon was generally better option due to not having long animations. Like dragonslayer greataxe which was the predecessor to elden ring's ashes of war spam. I just find the paired greatswords a strange pick for "evolution of broken builds" when all they had going for them is their look.
