Second: the blue tint is an anti glare coating. It is basically a screen protector which can be removed if you don’t like the blue tint. The LCD panel and digitizer we use are still matte 🙂.

@@Lodreus Nothing, I feel this is the same thing as the $600 Amazon/eBay kit. I bought this based on this video, and so far not worth it. Steering wheel functions show an AUX error when you use them, the screen is not that sturdy, and the boot is really slow. Also, if you are a CarPlay person versus Android, it’s really a pain, you have to go into a screen, turn on an app, which takes another 30 seconds to load. So total time to load CarPlay from start on is roughly 1 minute. If you are an Android person, this probably works great. Apple CarPlay, look for something else. Also, every time you start your car, you have a 30 second load screen with a giant “Motive Supply” screen… which kind of sucks.

My issue with these android screens running aux input to the original headunit, is the inferior sound quality, it really sounds crap compared to playing music through connect apps/a2dp streaming. In a basic stereo/hifi 676 it might be okay, but for a 677 logic 7 or a B&O system, the depth and resolution of the sound quality will really suffer. There need to be a fiberoptic output from the Android unit to make the sound great.

I ended buying a similar unit (autotecpro) because it was a little less expensive even with the navigation splitter cable and USB cable. I oredered the blue screen but glare is still an issue. Looks super sharp at nightime though. I was a little anxious about the screen being too big but that wasn't the case at all. Definitely like the resolution of the screen and the CarPlay feature is awesome. It definitely takes about 45 seconds for the car play to load up which is a little annoying but definitely worth it. Wasn't difficult to install at all given the videos available online including this one which was very helpful.

Screen quality is one of the issue which was holding me back on this. BMW original screen is pretty sharp and even glows when hit by direct sunlight. Finally I bought MMI box to keep original screen.

I decided to upgrade my screen and I must say I was a little disappointed. The resolution was all wrong, I can't voice control Siri from the steering wheel and I still have to use the aux for audio even though I have the same unit as you. To make it worse the OEM backup cam doesn't work when I put the car in reverse. I spent 4-5hrs installing only to have to undo all I'd done and put back my MMI and OEM display. Upgrade with caution. I just can't do without my backup camera working and so I undid everything.

Android unit needs GPS input as well. So you need 2 gps antenna’s or at least 2 connectors (1 for OEM, 1 for android). We deliver these with a standalone extra gps antenna as well offer a GPS splitter which splits original antenna signal in to 2 connectors. Hope this helps.

Yes, you can. In our experience, only OEM parts get stolen. We are in business for 4 years now and only have 1 report of a stolen unit, well not the unit itself, but the complete car with the unit in it was stolen. It was a 130i, which get stolen often here, so we do not think you should worry. If it DOES get stolen, we will help you out. We are enthusiasts ourselves, not just in it for the business :). A couple of questions. I have a 2011 f10. After installation. I have a few issues. No sound, no original menus, no backup camera. And also, my original screen came with two connections behind. The pink that you removed and a black rectangular shaped. There's is no place to install this black connection on the new unit. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you, Jay

Hello, when you disconnected your battery, did you just disconnect the negative terminal? Or did you disconnect the positive terminal module as well? I'd rather not disconnect both if I don't need to. Quite a bit going on on the positive terminal module. Please let me know if you just disconnected your negative terminal to do the install.
