Wow, their chemistry is off the charts! Thank goodness for the Asian press tour, where they finally put Chris and Seb together for interviews. At this point, it seems Evanstan is much more real than Stucky. I do hope we get to see them together again onscreen, especially in the upcoming Infinity War movies or any other projects that go their way. On their most recent appearance together at Wizard World Philly, Chris seemed to be in agreement with a Stucky comment that Cap really loved Bucky and even flirted with Seb onstage briefly, suggesting, "Honey, should we just get outta here?" Seb then looked adorably embarrassed and self-conscious, said he needed some water and became kind of speechless after that, while Mackie had this knowing smile for the both of them the whole time. :)

HMMMMM... very interesting... I had always thought that because of Seb's innate sincerity and security with himself, that he would be the one who was more interested/willing to be closer to Chris than "work colleagues" (I mean, he would want to have a sincere personal relationship/friendship, etc, outside of just work). But there are so many telling moments in this video... Chris is the one who wants to hang on a little longer when they hug (like at 4:11), and Chris is the one that initiates contact/dialogue with Sebastian onstage, in every instance except the Jimmy Kimmel Show, where Chris is already seated and Seb goes up and puts his hands on his shoulders. How interesting~~~ Maybe Chris is getting a little jealous of all the Stackie chemistry happening on this press tour? (sure looks like it at 9:22--never realized before how agitated Chris became after that enthusiastic Stackie hug XD). This video is gold... please make more if you find more clips! ^___^

I've been watching their interviews, trying to 'analyze' their 'relationship'. Some people said they actually don't along at all. That's certainly untrue. Yes, they don't joke around as much as Seb is with Mackie but they are definitely friends and they sure got along. The vibe they gave me's like Bucky & Steve you know. Brothers who'd been in the trenches together (in this case, filming the movies, working together through those long grueling takes). I see a warm kind of partnership. There're times I think Seb actually looks up to Chris and Chris looks out for him. They truly care about each other. I also think the way they are around each other onscreen and off-screen are very different. Those interviews we saw of them being paired up in China, most of them were actually edited. From what I read, they're lotsa fun when put together. Just that they had to put on a serious face for the camera. I may be wrong but that's what I think. =)

I've been trying to analyze their relationship too, Phyllicia! As a rule, I never ship real people wantonly, but there's something about their chemistry and odd synchronicity that strikes me as genuine attraction, particularly from Chris's side. So here's kind of what I've been thinking. I know Seb has a long-term GF but Chris is famously pretty single (dating a co-star girl right now, but during the filming & press tour, he was single). In general (and many apologies to Chris, I don't mean to "slander" him or anything--these are just my thoughts), I get the feeling Chris is closeted and still coming to terms with his sexuality (which is part of where his insecurities/anxiety onstage stems from, as well as his hesitation to sign on as Cap and have to live a very public/scrutinized life where a huge franchise somewhat depends on him possibly suppressing his chance to explore that part of his life) and Seb is exactly his type/someone he feels a strong attraction & affinity for. For him, I think the attraction was instant (if one-sided) since The First Avenger (the fact that he hears "hot co-star" and *immediately* and seriously thought the interviewer meant Seb says something). Seb, though, is probably mostly straight, but strikes me as an empathetic kind of lover--open-minded/looking for true emotion, etc, which includes sexuality (as we can see in how comfortably he embraces playing gay characters as he explores their/his truth). Mostly, I think he's interested in his acting career right now, not so much "finding himself" like Chris is (though Chris has that leisure since his stardom is super-solid now). That said, I think you're right that Seb definitely respects/admires Chris as an actor, honestly likes him as a person, and is very loyal to him, both as himself and out of respect/affection for Bucky. I think it's not easy to really get close to your fellow actors on such a large movie set like the MCU films, and Seb does appear to be a bit of a social introvert (Mackie implies he rarely accepts social invitations to hangout, etc), so it probably hasn't been easy for Chris to try to pursue him since they only see each other on set. And like I said, Seb is more career-focused and also has a steady relationship atm, so I think Chris has decided it's a dead end for now, and it's better not to pursue it/bury his romantic feelings in favor of his career as well. That said, when presented with the chance to have Seb around (as in the press tour, etc), you can see how Chris lights up and can't help but, uh, have a lot of contact/eye contact (as this video captures so nicely ;-)). So in short, as of now, I believe they both, to a certain extent, recognize the inherent possible attraction between them, but due to life and societal circumstances and their own career priorities, neither of them will pursue anything deeper between them (though Chris has more interest in it than Seb, I think. In fact, I get the sense that Chris being the big, sappy romantic he is, would actually go for it if Seb showed any sincere interest, regardless of the danger it would pose to their careers; but again, I think Seb's got no interest in jeopardizing his current, still semi-tenuous shot at real stardom, even for True Love or whatever ;-)). THAT SAID, nine months of shooting together on Infinity War starts this November, and I think Chris has reached this unprecedented new high of confidence and self-assurance/self-possession/comfort with himself and has been a bit bolstered by the very public displays of Stucky support recently. So even though he will certainly respect Seb's choices/not jeopardize his career if that's what he chooses, I think he'll be more comfortable than ever getting closer to Seb during filming and after, which is all I really ask. Lots of cute antics on the press tour/convention circuit; a Hemsworth/Hiddleston level of playful closeness... I think it's quite possible. ;-) Sorry for the ridiculously long, rambling post! ^^;;;; But yeah, that's kind of what I've been thinking is the current State of Evanstan. XD

First of all, I want to say damn, I love your analysis! I'm not really that good in using words to express myself but that's exactly what I thought! I'm pretty new to this fandom actually. I mean I'd been a fan since the very first Marvel movie, but this is the first time I really sat down & watch the interviews. The first one I watched was the Q & A they did in Beijing with Chris, Seb & Mackie. My first impression was Seb's like a HUGE fan of Chris. Finding the things he said funny, laughing like he's the funniest person on Earth. (Frankly, quite a few times, I don't get the joke.. ^^;) He supports his views, he even speaks up in defense for him (even when he may not agree with it. i.e. Comic con panel where he asked Seb to back him up on the driving.). I mean there are many great actors on set. Robert Redford, Samuel L. Jackson, RDJ. Not that Chris's not a good actor but Seb just acts like Chris's that 1 shiny star you know. As I watch more, I start to see, Chris's the one who initiates contact. A few times whenever the question's directed to Seb, Chris would say something, tease him, etc. You can see Chris listening & paying attention whenever Seb speaks. He looks like he wanted to know more about Seb. But Seb seems hesitant to share stuff with Chris. Like he thinks Chris won't be interested? I don't know. I just got that feel. But yeah, Seb's definitely loyal to Chris, no matter how close he seems to be with Mackie. The bond is there with Chris. Something I think Mackie won't be able to replace. You can see that in the latest comic con panel. The way he stood & waited for Chris to come on stage before sitting down. (Impatiently) waiting for Mackie to finish rummaging through the bag of plums & then immediately turning to offer them to Chris. The way his body always leans toward Chris. The little things. You think Seb's a social introvert? To people he's not familiar with, maybe. But with friends he's comfortable with, I think he can be quite fun too. Not sure about the chance of Chris being closeted. He's linked to quite a few female stars before, wasn't he? People who saw him at a party said, he was the one flirting with the girls while Seb & Mackie just enjoyed themselves, joking with each other. You are right about it being a huge film set with so many actors around, especially for Civil War. But they do have quite a few scenes together. I'd like to think they spent some time sitting down, going through the scenes together. Especially with all the fighting scenes, they had to work on those together beforehand. Yeah, can't wait for Infinity War to start filming. Hopefully Seb will be in it too. I don't think he can be in both Infinity War & Black Panther at the same time.. ^^; With the above being said, I do hope they get closer in the future as friends. Once you bring romance into it, kinda spoils things. Just my two cents. I'm happy with the bromance right now. P/S: Are you on Twitter or Tumblr?
