EVAP Canister and DTC P2422 on Acura or Honda

This video explains how an automobile EVAP system works. It shows how to test an EVAP canister. It shows how to solve DTC P2422 on Acura and Honda vehicles. Although the P2422 DTC says "EVAP Vent Valve Stuck Closed", the EVAP vent valve may not be the issue. There can be an obstruction at the end of the vent hose that can be sucked out easily with a vacuum cleaner.

That was a very thorough and detailed explanation of the evap vent system operation and diagnosis. i have a similar problem as you had, p2422 and while refueling, nozzle would click off repeatedly. i will inspect the vent hose at the rear subframe side for obstructions.

repair is complete, the canister was plugged- no air came out when air was blown into the port where fuel tank vapor hose connects, also vent valve solenoid shorted, .2 ohms resistance. bought a used unit, tested good - air comes out easily. hope this helps someone out there. (2006 acura tl)
