I did the whole chase the border site anomalies for a bit when I came back to EVE about a year ago, used a pair of Prospects and base out of Amarr space as they have more 0.5 adjacent to 0.4. The main thing I found was to just go hyper spatial rigs as the travel was the limiting factor. If I was to do it again I’d probably go with a hyper spatial Deluge then just throw a barge plus fit in the cargo and just forego rigs, repackage and zoom about.

A tip for surviving ganks on an orca in lower security HS for larger fleets is to keep a blackbird on grid with jams and sensor boosters so when the gankers aggress you target and jam the ships so they can’t get as many volleys off before being concorded… it can prevent enough damage for the orca to survive. I’ve seen it multiple times when my corp lived in HS.

IMHO there should be ore anomalies that ought to be scannable and not shown in the Agency, with an option to sell the bookmark in the market (if the scanning would be difficult enough or in stages).

Maybe there could be a way to allow new characters to have a limited increased protection from CONCORD while also limiting the use cases of it. Thinking of some kind of restrictions on it not allowing total immunity for hauling, etc. I'm sure this could be implemented.

The main reason gankers are so rampant in Hisec is because it's economically feasible for them. In my Hisec pocket, there's many miner fleets with a main in an Orca and then 10+ alts in expensive mining vessels. Ice belts are drained dry in less than 2 hours and those rare border asteroid fields are empty in 20 minutes.

I always gun mining using L4 missions reprocess the junks and build ship below BS class to sell. Got most materials but have to mine in HS for trits and pyerite.

I saw on your solar system map it was listing the number of pilots in your system. Is that a built-in feature that I have to enable? Mainly wondering to potentially monitor an incoming gank fleet.

It's a map filter, but yes, it's built in, and it's delayed. Your best bet to avoid gankers is watching local and d-scan.

I think Eve Online needs an iron man mode. Something like hardcore WoW… Its like that scene in “The Hurt Locker” when he is just frozen on the cereal isle, with so many choices that don’t really matter it’s daunting.

Never jump out of your home system to mine. The time it takes you to travel means you are wasting time mining. I mine a system in high sec. 6 belts a day in a 13-belt system. If you jump 20 jumps to mine isogen or noc, you could mine basic ore and sell it to buy the necessary minerals.

For me, the risk vs reward for ganking is out of whack in high sec. Very little risk to the gankers, and a lot of risk to the ganked. My biggest point of contention is the reality that small corps have no hope in high sec of maintaining structures. This was not always the case until CCP added cores to structures with guaranteed drops. There's very little risk and a guaranteed payout for the people attacking the structures. Bottom line, is only the large alliances, cough null sec alliances, can have structures in high sec.

I think that 1.0 & 0.9 should be non combat-ish GREEN only, and can only use venture to mine for 90 days or possibly 6 months.

the only time I have ever used Insurance was when I was running the missions at the beginning of the game and doing soldier of fortune missions. Other than that, I don't have any insurance on any of my ships. I agree, with the docking, it never made any sense to me from a lore perspective. I also had someone say security status should be account wide so if you have a negative 10 on your main all Characters in that account are negative ten on that account. I am fine with Ganking really. it's a big part of the ecosystem and without it Industry would die. It should be like all things in eve though, high risk high reward low risk low reward. I guess is what I am thinking.

I have heard that Eve Echo's has been destroyed by making high sec too safe. So there needs to be a seriously careful balance before changes are made.

If you believe that highsec is safe, then you are severly mistaken. Eve online is a PvP game. PvP starts when you start the game client and lasts until you end the game client.

I have been saying that forever. People say they want more people to play the game, but will also go out and gank the new players and laugh when they quit. Which, in the long run, will hurt the game.

when i was new and trying lowsec rat killing a person warped in to me started firing at me , then he asked me if i was new i said yes. he then warped away. donated me 20m isk and said good luck at new eden. i didn't knew you could contract someone at that time. always wanted to thank him. but never saw that hero.

@mehexi just the other day I was mining with a new character and left my tech 1 hornets. Another miner picked them up for me and traded them in station to me before I realized I left them. I gave them 20 Mil isk for being nice. We can make Eve a better place :)
