This game stole 3 solid years of my life before I ripped myself away from its clutches. it was the first MMO I ever played and it immersed me completely. I dip my toe back in every now and then but there is nothing like that first experience of everything being new and full of wonder. I will say the devs have done a great job of keeping the game up to date and it has changed dramatically from when I first played it. Thank you for the memories Eve but I am glad we decided to go our separate ways, you were just too controlling for me :P

I played eve HEAVILY from 2007 to 2009. I popped back in about a month ago and was utterly blown away by how much better everything looked. I always played as a trader, by the time I gave it up I was placing and modifying buy/sell orders all over the sector without having to fly to any stations. I had become a shipping magnate with about 20 haulers I worked with regularly. When I started getting bored I said what the heck, let me start a totally unwanted trade war with the big boys in Jita. I started flooding the market with super cheap Caldari battleships. I burned thru about 10 billion ISK in about 2 weeks by undercutting the crap out of all the other producers. I had no reason to do this other than to watch the market burn. It caused pricing shockwaves in everything from 250mm railguns all the way down to basic raw materials. I was utterly shocked by the mess I made, and quite satisfied. It did cost me everything I had earned but it was so worth it :) Could only do it once tho....

So after a century of mankind's largest colonization effort, involving millions of humans working together to build a new society, they still didn't have the resources to sustain their societies at pre-collapse levels? I would've thought 10 years would be plenty enough to build the necessary infrastructure/agriculture, especially given their advanced tech which far surpasses what we have today.

@@jostinmendez1026 I think CCP underestimanted the hate they received for not releasing it on PC. Basicly they created a divided playerbase on two games that supposedly were to be played together, which in itself was an amazing concept. Unfortunately, the intersection between PS3 gamers and PC gamers was miniscule, and I think few Eve players would buy a PS3 just for Dust 514 and even less PS3 gamers would buy a PC just for Eve. They were separated communities and often not in good terms. It's also possible that a deal with Sony was the only thing that made it possible for CCP to greenlight Dust 514. If so, what gave birth to the game was what doomed it too. But I agree, CCP had as some time an incredible potential if you add Valkyrie to the equation. You could have Eve battleships / carriers fight for control of the space around a planet / citadel, while human pilots could fly transports and supporting fighters (in 3D) to hotdrop player controlled troops on the surface / inside the citadel, to destroy defence structures and conquer it from inside. Just thinking of the possibilities is mind blowing.

So if anything, this is what the Kobalians lived through and this is how they existed until their great fall. The Reimagined series never really went into how long the Kobalians existed before their great fall or how big their empire was, just that Kobal was the LAST to fall before falling into darkness and the 13 tribes split up.

@BobSmith-dk8nw4 жыл бұрын
At one time ... like maybe 2011 they had ambitions to have players avatars able to walk and interact with each other. They called it Walking In Stations - but outside of the Captains Cabins they never got any further. Then the graphics on the Captains Cabins went to shit - and they didn't care enough to fix it so they just did away with it. It was fun to walk your avatar back and forth a little bit but that was all there was to it so people would play with it for a few minutes and then forget about it. Those of us who remember it do so fondly as we could take screen caps of our avatars but it was a lot of trouble and I believe cost you money to change their clothes and such. So once you created and dressed your character they were pretty much stuck that way - unless you wanted to spend some money on them. (IIRC). All that is left of that is in the Character Information you can look at. You click on a character and select Show Info - which gives you a large version of their picture - but - then you can select something like 'show whole character' and it will put a 3D image on the screen of the whole character's body - which is breathing and independently looking around. You can turn this image and look at various sides of them - but this is about it. Also left is the Character Creation page where you could do body sculpting on your character to change their muscles and expressions - this hasn't changed since they introduced it as part of the preparations for Walking In Stations - but that's it. Those of us who can - take some pride in sculpting our characters, giving them flat stomachs and well muscled arms and legs as well as in the appearance of their faces. Of course - this is mainly for female characters being created by male players. Then - they also had a game called Dust 514 which was a shooter - but - it was a separate game. And - they decided they wanted to use that game to branch out into Console as opposed to PC gaming. So - it was never really part of "EVE" though there was a pretense that it was. They have Planetary Interaction (or something like that) but it is just you putting little circles on a planet graphic - you don't go down and land on the planet. So - for the most part - it's pretty much just a space ship game. .

So, humanity now has the chance to be immortal. The premise of this game/movie is that, they then go to war. The possibility of becoming permanently dead is possible if the current body is completely obliterated, not recovered etc. Yeah. Okay Fine.

I mean, what? Only few people ever become Capsuleers, the ones that are Immortal. And they stay immortal, as long as they are in a Capsule, because then upon death, their brain is scanned by a neural burner, killing the brain and transmitting the state of consciousness to a clone. Regular crew members and NPC ships still only have mortal crew.

The plot of the 2019 cinematic adaptation of EVE ONLINE, set in the world of NEW EDEN, revolves around aspiring actress Eve Harrington showing up in the dressing room of Broadway mega-star Margo Channing. Margo takes Eve under her wing, only to realize that Eve is a conniver who uses and schemes against her. The story involves stages of decision-making as the characters navigate their relationships and ambitions in the competitive world of Broadway.

It's a shame that after the wormhole collapsed, much of the technology, especially spacecraft was forgotten for thousands of years. It's also a shame that prior to wormhole collapsing the tech wasn't advanced enough to locate the Milky Way, Sol System or Earth in relation to New Eden? It would be kewl if people of the Sol System had evolved the tech and themselves, enabling them to locate New Eden in relationship to Earth and travel there. What a surprise to all, especially the civilizations of New Eden when strange spacecraft appeared, its advanced tech (or not) ready to introduce themselves. ;-)

@@TairnKA In truth we don't know. Your statement about strange spacecraft appearing and such is happening now. And it is to the point that they want to over throw the empires. The base ideas for the Eve was taken from Descent:Freespace game(1998), there are a lot of common in those two games( in lore and cinematics mostly), also in a small details those who not played Descent:Freespace/Freespace 2 could not notice that.

I love that comparison, Freespace was one of my favourite space games when I was growing up ! It is interesting that the game has adopted the descent name as I always knew them as Conflict Freespace 1 & 2 but the story in the game was incredible !! Such a shame we didn’t see a Freespace 3 !

The answer is : the resources at earth is not enough to make million spaceship at space. So we need exploration space at another universe to find new resources .
@soulsreaper71455 жыл бұрын
we could mine astroids for the resources, there is a asteroid we know of not that terribly far from earth that has over a sextillion $$ worth of gold on it and theres other astroids like that with platinum and diamonds, that's why president Obama wanted nasa to start a division to start figuring out how to pull astroids to the moon to mine or if we could mine them in space itself but for some reason trump cancelled it, imagine how much money the gov would have if nasa was in the buisnesss of minning astroids

@Marciel Luta One country alone cannot acquire the resources necessary to successfully establish thriving life on other worlds. Space is big, and China is small. If you take any point in history where we've explored a new frontier, you'll notice that people come together to explore the unknown whether it be one person sent by many, or many people as one. We've done this before, as we've done for thousands of years.

games changed massivly since that 14day crap. if you didnt see any its cuz you didnt actualy travel that far. if you dont have the attention span to learn EVE then its not the game for you. millenials dont do well in EVE as you actualy have to WORK for it. EARN it. Millenials quit within days due to "too much reading" there is no 14days trial now you can play for FREE. millenials still complain its too hard and get nothing for free.

@@adblock4life166 Wow, that's clearly not the case. Whatsoever. Just look at when CCP tried to shake up the game with the Black Out months ago. Most of community just decided to not log on because of the changes. And this wasn't the "MiLiEnNiAlS" you have this massive hate boner for, this was the veterans in Nullsec that have been playing this fucking game for over a decade, so your theory kinda falls flat on it's ass. Long story short, Eve Online can easily to summed up with one word: *NICHE.* This game is niche as fuck, man. The game caters to a subset of gamer and only that subset. It's a spaceship simulator sandbox MMO about fighting and making money, while screwing whoever you can along the way. A very vast majority of gamers just aren't interested in this kinda of gameplay.
