I've been doing some WH exploring myself recently. When entering a new system I also found it tedious to scan down the entrance hole, but what I've started doing now is dropping my probes immediately, centering them on my ship and setting their range to minimum, then if you scan it instantly finds the entrance hole. Alongside bookmarking it I've found this works quite well as it means you can see it and also have one less thing on the probe scanner to pay attention to.

I did not know you could do that with the probes! Im definitely going to be trying that next time!

Even if you bookmarked the wormhole exit, there is no guarantee that it will be there when you warp back to it, as others might have rolled it while you was busy doing sites and whatnot, or maybe your ISP or power suddenly goes out long enough for that WH to collapse naturally. Therefore you ALWAYS need to have some means of scanning while daytripping into WH, if your ship can not fit scanner for some reason (or you don't want to as it will severly compromise it's utility), bring an alt with you into that WH which can. You can simply safelog that alt right after you entered the wormhole so that you don't have to worry about it getting spotted/scanned and killed, but remember the rule - scanner always goes in first and leaves last. Back in the old days when I lived in a WH solo and there were no citadels, I had to keep an alt logged off inside my WH at all times in case I get podded out of WH and that logged off alt will be the only way for me to get back in to my stuff.

Oh man, please please use safe spots by making a bookmark while warping, then the people chasing you can only use combat scanners which will show up on dscan. When you were 100km off the wh I knew they would be able to get you since they could also just warp 100km off the wh, but it's a good learning experience if anything

I will definitely use random bookmarks to escape, never actually thought of that.

@@Expedishun First thing I do entering Jspace (after saving the exit, ofc;), assuming I'm going to spend any time there; is to create a safespot - well off grid between celestials. After that, you can use that safe to create a 'deep' safe - which is off the laneways between celestials. Using the system map is a good tool to determine the optimal spots to create your BMs while in warp. Rinse and repeat until you have a handful of more secure locations to bop between while being hunted:)

Couple of hints (that i use): - Always check remaining "lifetime" before entering a Wormhole (WH). - Always assume that the wormhole exit will collapse when you are in the WH especially if "Large Ships" can pass thru, as if anyone lives in that WH they will most likely guard it by collapsing the exits on purpose (another reason why you probably should stay in a WH with structures). - Always bring at least 2 sets of 8 probes, even if i have taught myself to never close the scanner map with clicking the "recover probes" button, you can still loose probes if you internet lag out/dies or similar. - Definately watch a "ninja gas huffing" video even if you arnt after gas it will show you how to make a safe point in space with Control+B, how to pre-align etc. - There are tools to help mapping your route thru WHs, but im lazy & just call the first exit "E1" & then if i dive deeper into another i call it "E2" etc. - This one probably takes a bit of experience, but once im in a WH at my safe spot i do a quick single or 2 overall scans in what appear to be the center of the anomralites just so see how easy they appear to scan. If i dont get a single "easy" scan it usually a sign that the WH has already been explored & only the tougher gas/relic/data sites are left & i quickly dive deeper. I you do get a couple that "easy" scanable one make note of them & scan those down first.

Jump into a crapply little explorer like a heron and go nuts you can easily find 10's of millions from data and relic sites, let alone if you're able to find a highly valuable gas cloud that you can mine in a venture. I recommend not going into a wormhole as a solo miner but they can be used as bait very effectively such as a proc with multiple cloaked ships around it but I just wouldn't recommend using a barge or exhumer in a worm hole unless there are literally no exits and you live there which probably isn't going to happen unless you've rolled the hole/s already. If more valuable mining is something you would like to do i would just say join a null sec corp whether it be one of the big ones or one of the smaller ones (if you do join a smaller null corp it is probably in a alliance with the larger group/s around it). biggest take away from this video i got was just mark your wormholes which is literally the most important thing you can do. hopefully this video will help newbros

Yea, I go in with a Buzzard, and if I want to mine gas, I come back with my prospect, and do it that way. I'm in a Null Sec corp, currently mining some Merc and Ice. When I get some time to sit down, I will be going exploring and maybe gas mine for a while.

@Expedishun Жыл бұрын
Oh that’s cause of a little thing called, “living life on the edge”
@TheLime-wd3yu Жыл бұрын
@@Expedishun 😂 I would rate bringing a Hulk into a wormhole as living on the edge, doing it without dscan is sprinting around on the edge wearing a blindfold. Dscan is your only tool in wormhole space. If you're at a site you scanned down there's always the chance that someone already scanned all the signatures in system and is just waiting cloaked for someone to show up. There's no way to predict or prevent this, but you can at least dscan the site before you warp to it to see if there's anyone sitting uncloaked. Warping to any anomaly in the system that doesn't require probe scanning is the biggest risk, if you don't need probes to find the site expect a combat recon or cloaky ship to just appear on top of you at any time since they can use dscan to find you and you can't use dscan to protect yourself. Avoid the anomaly ore and ice belts at all costs, if someone jumps into the system and sees a barge or exhumer on dscan they're going to immediately check all the belts. Where dscan gets really useful is for new signatures that pop up in the system after you get there. If you scan down a site and you only see 8 probes on scan, you know you're the only person at that site. If you see another set of probes appear, there's someone else actively looking for it. If you see combat probes at any time, leave the system. That's someone fitted for ganking (or an explorer who doesn't know how probes work) and you should assume any site already in the system is a trap. Lastly, if you're within range of your entrance wormhole you can use dscan to check if someone is trying to roll it. If you see a battleship like a Praxis, a hauler, or a heavy interdiction cruiser appearing and disappearing off of scan it's someone rolling a wormhole. If it's your exit, you better hope you're in a quick align ship and get out ASAP!

Almost forgot the most basic rule of dscan- if you're undocked in a .4 or less system with unknown players in system with you- check dscan constantly. Especially in wormhole space.
