It's strange that nobody has mentioned the 4-year 20,000-mile warranty. Pretty much end to end except for consumables like tires. I've had a Delta X for 4.5 years now. Using the two lowest gears 90% of the time, I still get anywhere in town within 25 minutes or less at between 14 and 18 mph. My EVELO was definitely worth the cost. The company does not know I'm endorsing it, but I like it that much. I also don't know of any company in America who will match this warranty with the same coverage.

Although I think you are right on nearly all things about the Omega, being that I've owned what I think is the competitor's bike for a year now it didn't cost $8000 and still doesn't. Of course, I could be wrong and it's a different competitor. Me being a person who loves to pedal, would like to see a throttle on my bike, but having put thousands of miles on it already, don't really miss it. The torque sensor is one of my must-haves on an e-bike. Now with that out of the way, is the Omega a good value? Absolutely. Riding an e-bike with basically a CVT transmission lets you forget about shifting and have fun like when you were a kid.

Ha, this has a lot in common with my Atlas. I laughed when you talked about the seat, which I upgraded a few hours ago. Now it's like riding on a cloud. Anyone interested in the Omega or Atlas should know the additional battery is not available immediately. It didn't matter to me as I don't need that kind of range. I'm waiting on my rear rack, though.

After further though, here's some constructive criticism for them; The technology seems great but put on that platform, it isn't worth it to me. For the price, I'd want a larger diameter headlight, so I appear nearer rather than farther away to cross traffic. It should be able to pulse or flash. A larger and better located rear light. Also, able to flash. A rear rack so I have someplace to put my jacket. A choice of saddles upon ordering. Here's an idea. How about a factory provided Apple Air Tag holder? Lectric included a nice strong folding lock for my $1K XP 3.0. As it is, I don't see it worth the money to me, but I do wish them good luck and will keep them on the radar.

Well, first off it tick's a lot of my personal boxes, Belt Drive, Check. Overall Design Asthenic, Check, Mid Drive, Check. Automatic with get out of Jail, Check. Power 750 minimum, Check. The $ is the stumbling block...I could go $3500, but S4,600 plus Axe likely $5000 delivered a box is sadly a box I can't check . However, down the road (pun intended) I'd imagine once R and D have been satisfied and Market Competition moves in this direction the $ may or likely come down to my ability. Overall though I really like the concept though I'd also like something with mild to medium off road possibilities as I'm thinking lakeside trails and regular street, hill riding.

The prices these EV companies are PUSHING to get the industry to is honestly pushing me to get my M classification and a gas-powered motorcycle. I love my ebike, but I'm not going to pay $4.6k for WAY less miles, less power, and less speed, when I could just get a motorcycle for less.

My thoughts exactly. Bicycling is a completely different ethic from ICE riding but you can choose from a very large variety of motorcycles for $5K...
@scb2scb2
@scb2scb2 Жыл бұрын
@edwong3 Why would i want a ICE bike when i want to drive around dutch cities and bike paths ? Makes no sense many people want to bike and some want to get a better quality bike and are willing to pay for having things automatically done like 'shifting' (i put it in air quotes since it doesn't really shift from gear to gear but uses a planets to continues change transfer). By the time someone gets his ICE motorcycle out and going i am already probably 50% of the trip i want to take. The whole idea is to make bicycle riding quicker/nicer not to change into a car on 2 wheels or even a real car with 4 wheels... I don't use this brand but a Riese and Muller (german brand) that uses some of the same parts as shown here and it costs even more because other parts are well better and you pay for that nothing is free in bicycles these days.

For an extra $50 you can purchase a handlebar mounted shifter that pairs with your phone app to let you do the shifting manually. I love my Omega, though the riding position is a bit higher than I would prefer. Also, it took me awhile to figure out that I could choose a "0" (zero) power assist, instead of the default lower level of "1" one) when I prefer standing up pedaling. If you have any power assist selected other than zero you get the funky feeling at the bottom of your pedal stroke where your foot slushes through with no resistance. And, while I like the power, it would be cool if they came out with a 1,000 watt upgrade motor. :-)

Oh hell no, thats one of the best features of the bike and why the higher cost to get that automatic shifting. That would be like swapping out a vastly superior automatic on my car for a manual transmission.

I think if I had an automatic bike or ebike I wouldn't want a fixed cadence but more like a cadence range, with a slower cadence when I'm pedalling lightly and a higher cadence when pedalling hard, to be closer to how I would operate manual gears. you have higher output when pedalling faster. but I understand it could be hard to tune the transmission since if you push harder and the transmission "shifts" to a higher cadence, you now have less pedalling resistance which would make you naturally reduce your effort, so it could end up hunting for the right gear, and be even less intuitive than the dumb fixed cadence setting. it might work with a very progressive rpm /torque curve ? this is probably ok for commuter and average climbs but I wouldn't want that on a emtb..also if you are looking for a good workout despite using an ebike, pedalling at different cadences makes the workout more complete by working on both strength and cadence whereas constant cadence would be more like running on a treadmill at a constant speed
@47f0
@47f0 8 ай бұрын
I've seen an optional wireless cadence selector that goes on the right handlebar if you want to go "manual" - keeping in mind that manual on an infinitely variable transmission doesn't mean shifting from one gear to the next so much as just tuning the ratio.

I think it’s about $2,000 overpriced. If the extended battery puts it around $5250-5300, another 2 grand will get you a Sondors Metacycle, and there is no pedaling, and it’s road worthy. Enough said.

There is just not enough gotta have it in the technology to justify the price. It's a nice enough bike - looks slow but that could have just been the way you rode it - but it is not worth an extra $2000 to not have to shift and have a gates belt drive.

We had this on a cargo bike (I worked as a delivery driver). Absolute garbage. You can adjust when exactly it changes gear but you will never be able to predict it. And when it shifts in the wrong moment you get that pleasant metal crunch sound. Also there is no way these are cheap. Sure internal gears need less maintenance than external ones, but considering the massive price difference and the fact that the work to maintain external gears is barely nothing, it's just a waste of money. And the feeling of perfectly shifting into the higher gear yourself is just chef kiss Seriously, if normal gears bother you the problem is not the bike. It's you. Like? "People who are intimidated by shifting"?? I swear if gear shifting already throws you off, you shouldn't even ride a bike for the safety of everyone. Same people that can't read the road signs while riding because it is too complicated for them
@scb2scb2
@scb2scb2 Жыл бұрын
Nonsense it doesn't have 'gears' at all that can do 'crunch' sound since it uses balls and oil to transfer power there is nothing to make a weird sound while it slides from low too high or back. The automatiq box just controls the angle on which the balls transfer power and create the different settings. When pulling away from say a stoplight you go 'through' the 'gears' in matter of a few seconds to the needed position while keeping your cadence without sound. I can only talk about how its used by Riese & muller (with bosch integration) since i own that. Being dutch i can perfectly 'read the road' and have used normal and internal hubs all my life the fact i now can go way smoother riding without shifting means i can always have 2 fingers on each brake at all time if i want claiming a extra action (shifting) is somehow proof i am a 'better' rider is just silly. Also the moment if shifting (or better sliding i guess) is totally predictable and i am always amazed it changes at the same moments i would have done it. The 'you can adjust it when it changes gear' makes me think you have used a different system maybe a normal internal hub with some electronic controls like vanmoof or others use not a enviolo planet based system. There is one point that is true the whole system of enviolo hub, automatiq box and integration with a controller is not cheap these parts alone cost about 800usd/euro. So will probably only be used on bikes in the $3500 to $8000 range.
