Welcome back Girl!!! (Note the capital g....respect!) 2017 was all that and a bag of chips! I graduated under grad, flew to Socal room internet at a medical device company, got on lets make a deal while I was over there, took a train back across the country to start grad school ...and avoid that 6 month mark, got my firat apartment (s/o to adulting also these bills can suck it), nailed my first semester (what up 3.7) and ended the year with a booked trip to Uganda and Rwanda for the new year (fun fact: those 2 weeks on the equator were also the snowiest in new england so win-win)....now I'm back to make 2018 my fav year yet! I already got some travel scheduled in...ita gon be great! I can feel it in my shondo 😂😂 #nevertoolatetobeatkabozi

YOU WENT TO KENYA!!! Im so happy for you, I watched your instaglam stories like "wow we are really having a great time here." Even with crap moments from 2017 I did have great moments. I finally went to Barcelona and quit a job with a passive agressive boss. I learned that I don't have to keep staying in crap situations, especially for the sake of "enduring well" or "not being a quitter." Some things in life have an expiration date and I'm learning to end well and start saying yes to what's important to me.

Goals for 2017: graduate law school (did that shit) go abroad again (went to Boston, same thing right????) save $3,000 for the bar (nah Sis) Get a summer job working at a law firm (yes for Douglas Hicks Law) journal everyday ( not exactly had my time, but I’m getting back to it) move to LA (Sacramento SAME THING RIGHT? 👀 nah bitch) rebuild my summer minimalist wardrobe (nope) maintain healthy relationships (mmmm I agree, told all the toxics to go and they did.) My theme for the year is : FLINT! I'm hoping to be tough as nails in the face of adversity! (I def. was that, lost lots of family coming out as lesbian. I have (honestly) remained quite graceful through the process) Thank evelyn for giving me a constant space to look for my growth. Btw, YOU TOOK A BREEEEEEEK FROM GAINFUL EMP-LOY-MENT. LORDT. 2017 was interesting. Hadn't given it much thought until now. My son turned 3. I hit 1 year at my job and i couldn't be more miserable. I accepted responsibility for my lack of healthy choices and the consequences therein. I spent time with good friends periodically throughout the year and tried my best to just be a good person ya know? I will say this lack of gainful employment you speak of is sounding real tempting right now because folk subtlety threatening my job yet again is grating my spirit. Anyway i wish you all the best Evelyn. Following you fully for the first time from January to January has been a blessing. I followed to naturally curly, which introduced me to a plethora or uh uh a cornucopia if you will of dope brands and practices that i now enjoy and employ such as my face routine. My 2017 was ok. The best part was I FINALLYYYYYY got a job after being home with kids for 4 years and finally graduating. 2018 is gonna be my year though (except January. I threw the whole month away.) my guiding word for 2018 is wellness and so far I’m using that word to help so many daily decisions. I hope your travels are great!!

Eveyln I have been reaaaalllyyy stressed out by this new semester of university I'm going through, I have a bunch of stuff due tonight/tomorrow that I was feeling like I could not complete and shouldn't even try to do. Watching this just took all my stress away and made me feel like I can get through it. I literally teared up in relief in the middle of this library lol. I love your perspective, thank you for sharing it and may God bless your new year and help you mine the lessons and knowledge you needed from 2017 to aid you in achieving your new goals! I also journaled consistently throughout this year and stopped putting so much of my shit on social media and it's been amazing. Even though reading it back and realizing that I didn't do as much as I wanted to in 2017 was a little disheartening.

My entire being had to still in an uncomfortable, 90 degrees, left shoulder balancing act in my bed, and my head all the more still in this unforgiving pose of discomfort as I prayed by the grace of God that my unstable, SOLE bar of WiFi would not extinguish before your video came to light. I think the year end recap are my favorite videos of yours because it just reminds me that life is unexpected and it won't always take you where you wanna be but hopefully you'll end up where you need to be. I'm in my mid-twenties and in the middle of earning a law master degree and with every passing day I realize that I don't want to work in the law field and I have no idea what to do with my life. Thinking about the future gives me anxiety but your videos are soothing. I wish I was as daring as you are but in 2018 I'm working on finding a goal or a passion to work towards.

2017 was so freaking stressful and overwhelming. I got a new job and on top of that went back to school so it was just a lot going on and your girl is tiiiiiiddddddeeeee(tired) lol. My mental health started getting worse in 2017 but I'm very proud of myself for putting myself out there. I don't usually try or take the initiative to do anything but that changed. I started meeting new people and making connections, did things that scared me....I could go on and on but I truly accomplished some great things. I hope 2018 goes better and I accomplish a lot more.

I've been here since the pre-Post Grad Life era and just looking at your trajectory, all I can say is 'You are a true Inspiration, Evelyn'. Although 2017 was a HELL OF A YEAR, I learned a lot about myself and how I navigate personal relationships. But in 2018 I'm graduating from college with a degree in Neuroscience and French Studies and will be well on my way to medical school in the next two years. Ain't God good. :)
