I havr this model, just brought it a week ago. Lit a fire in it for the 1st time yesterday. Loved it. My only complaint is that I was sitting 4 feet away and barely felt the seat at times. Maybe it was me. But overall, I love the look of the Fire at night and don't have to worry about Amber's flying and burning someone.
@PortlyGentleman Жыл бұрын
I definitely love mine. Did you have it in the high position for maximum fire? Like anything? It does take a few minutes for it to heat up. That's for damn sure.
@CBKFL11 ай бұрын
It's definitely an ambiance more than a "heater". Advertising seems a bit disingenuous when my $150 40K BTU propane patio heater puts out substantially more heat...
@WeShootBack17767 ай бұрын
You can make it throw more heat by buying pellets with a higher btu rating, cheaper pellets don't throw heat , stay away from the cheap green/ clear bag that tractor supply sells
@jamesjones6804 күн бұрын
@@WeShootBack1776what brand pellets do you recommend?
@alanjohnson924510 ай бұрын
Well done review. I believe the BTU is accurate but you can't directly compare to the propane radiant heaters. All the heat on this one basically goes straight up. I might try a diffuse on top also. Very satisfied with mine.

@alanjohnson924513 күн бұрын
winter. It heats the area nicely. I have enough air leaks that carbon monoxide isn't an issue. Tried putting a large aluminum plate on top to see if it spreads the heat more when not tarped. Helps some I guess. Not gonna lie, the ambience is amazing without smelling like a campfire. On "high" it puts out a LOT of heat but mostly up. Sitting around it you need to be within 5-7 feet to feel it

Nice video? How do pellet heaters smell? Do you get that nice smell of a wood fire?
@PortlyGentleman4 ай бұрын
Thank you very much. Not really. It actually Burns pretty clean. I don't notice much odor. That's me though.
@markweidner8803Ай бұрын
I see you have this on a wood deck. Do you think a composite deck would be safe, or should you use something to protect the deck? Also, how long does it take to burn out once you stop feeding pellets?
@PortlyGentlemanАй бұрын
I'm actually really comfortable with it on the deck. No issue and no noticeable heat below it. Obviously I could put something down. I just don't see the need. Having said that, I don't leave it running unattended. Once the flow of pellets from the hopper is turned off, probably takes about 15 minutes to burn down. If you really need it to go out quicker you can manually pull some of the pellets in with the tool provided. This will cause it to burn down rapidly.
@pdizАй бұрын
My biggest assembly dilemma with this was "Do you put the 'caution' triangle logo in the front, in the back, definitely not the side... Most put it toward the rear where the hopper is... OCD will get you every time. I ended up putting it in the front as you have it, lol.

I pick one up a week ago on sale for 250.00 I only wish chimney roof was wider to deflect more heat outward ran on high expected wider heat coverage.
@PortlyGentleman Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm bummed there. I'm sorry right now for 250. It's a good deal I think. Definitely a wider top piece would definitely make sense. Maybe it was too heavy or it couldn't take wind or who knows what.

I agree. I found an 18" aluminum pizza pan on amazon for 20 bucks. im going to order one and set it on top of the existing cap and see if it helps. if it does i'll fasten it with a few stainless self tapping screws. its still an awesome product though.

I've had zero issue. The heat is negligible that comes down from the bottom. The Gap is pretty significant. And I've run it for probably up to 6 hours at one time

It's hard to say but I would say easily 15 to 20 ft
@alanjohnson924513 күн бұрын
Truthfully maybe 5-7 feet even on high. Throws a LOT of heat out the top but not out to sides so much. Remember it's a glass enclosed flame, don't compare it to Infrared heaters.

That depends. I think if you're sitting it's probably about 8 ft 9 ft on high away from the heater. I found that pellets play a big role on this. You need to buy a decent quality ones.

Was looking at this one as I have a pellet smoker/grill already and it's cheaper/easier/safer to stock extra pellets than propane tanks at least around here. My one concern is I have a Trex deck and I don't want to end up melting it if the fire gets too hot and the heat source is too low height-wise. If you end up reviewing the tall and skinny lamp-post model let us know! @tractorsupply send him one! :D

Hey thank you mine's obviously sitting on a nasty old redwood deck. I didn't notice it getting hot. They do sell small protector sheets or plates. If you will that you can put under something like this. That might be the ultimate safety precaution. I'll link one that I recently got amzn.to/47eIuy3
