Am fully doing it for xp. Completed every faction and main mission. All be it playing the non killing, high morals guy. Wasn't even level 50 by end. Granted had other side missions to do but I thought the main content should of seen me through to 50 atleast, bearing in mind u have to be level 318 to unlock all skills. It maybe boring right now for me, fabricating them frames, sleeping, but it's way quicker than speeding running missions or owt like that. I found it alot easier to just get my separate outposts going without the links. Since you can't hasten the links, its easier to just fly to base and grab everything instead of waiting. Youll be overencumbered but it's not like Skyrim, you can still run and walk. Also you can drop mass items as one single entity at an outpost.

Nice video. Just a tip you can carry a much as you want to so you dont really need a freighter. You lose oxigen, hp and cant sprint but you cant die from that. You keep about 10% hp. So you can carry around millions of items. Saves a lot of time unless you need to travel often. Also you mentioned macros not working in starfield in the nickel/cobalt video. I use logitech ghub to spam (e, m1, e) with 50 ms in between each click and it works. In the end i made a nickel/cobalt outpost on Bessel III-B (has 50x UT so half as much as Venus and 2x rest is way faster than traveling) and put down TONS of storage after finding a location with as much cobalt/nickel as possible. Its a moon so no animals (= no need for turrets). Put down crafting bench and a bed next to it. And thats it. Sleep 2 days = all storages full. then macro for an hour with 2,X crafts per second. Slightly less xp/min than this method but you dont have downtime and my strat has "maintenance" of about 20-30 seconds every hour so you can do other stuff while waiting for the exp to come in. for anyone reading this it was fun and works but tbh its not that different from using the console. Lastly you can keep all your crafted magnets and have infinite cash. just dump the stack on the floor in your ship (not cargo). store a few thousand in the cargo and you can use that as currency at vendors. You can sell it aswell but i find resetting vendors way to tedious.

I think the bug with interacting with crafting stations occur more frequently when placed on the terrain. If you get some sort of platform up off the grounds many hitboxes, it might alleviate some of it. From a technical perspective and experience with bethesda engines/modding, that's what makes most sense. I hope it'll help.

I just built a cobalt/nickel farm on Vega 2-e and craft the isocentered magnets. If you romance a companion you can put a bed next to the industrial workbench and sleep for however long it takes you to fill your containers, when you wake up you get a 15% xp bonus from emotional security and you craft away. Rinse and repeat and you get around the same amount of xp and its a lot faster to set up.

Oh I found a way closer planet with Iron and Aluminum in my run it has also an atmosphere so you can use Solar Panels and Wind energy. Muphrid IV in the Muphrid System. It is to the right of Narion then Cheyenne then Kryx then up a bit (up and very slightly to the right). Hope that helps. Ps.: I see it hasn't Nickel and Cobalt.

You just need to build a landing pad for each mineral. You'll only have enough space on an outpost to place maybe 8 while still having room for storage. This means you need to make shipping reciever outposts that produce items. Then ship those individual items to another outpost that only accepts t1 products. Make that outpost a t2 production outpost. Then ship to a t3 outpost etc etc etc

6:30 - It's not really necessary to put your storage bins right near the extractor, especially with elevation issues. A good way to be more efficient though, is to put ONE bin (small) right in the center of the extractors and connect them all to it. Then go find some other location that's better for bin towers (not blocking resources, landing pad, ect). Then, rather than tracking down all of the extractors and linking them to the bin tower, you just connect that single bin. And when you need to rebuild your bin towers and need to re-link, you can just delete that single resource link and reconnect it w/o chasing down every extractor. Same works for your warehouses and fabricators, ect.

the "bug" you are talking about is to do with the massive time skips that happen between 1 hour jumps while waiting. if you check the cargo containers you will notice some of them have an insane amount of ore/items in them and others do not. i normally see ~1.2k items in some containers and others have has the normal amount. certainly a bug but with how much simulated time is passing, it's to be expected that something like that would happen.

What happens to your storage? Storage is what makes or breaks this method honestly. I had my storage all messed up where I had nickel going into cobalt storage and basically I would have an overflow of one resource and nothing of the other. You really have to separate each resource type and have a method of linking them.

You actually can't die by filling up your co2 while running overencumbered, your health won't go below 10%. You can hold as many items on you as you want and just run around with 10% hp, just no fast travel on foot

I've had like 65k adaptive frames on my char that it said i had like 130k weight on me and I didn't die.... I just ran with zero oxygen and my health drops to like 10-15% and never drops below that. So pick up as much as you want and go to city to sell all those frames or go to your other outpost to combine mats or whatever you need to do. I dont have to worry about dying so I dunno why you have to wait for mats to be transferred when you could do it yourself and just sleep and loot storage and then repeat however many times you want then create your items and lvl up. Seems much faster than this waiting thing for ships to bring mats to you.

Should probably note some of these planets are deep freeze planets and you can't build on them without lvl 1 "planetary habitation" on the last science row. I worked around it for the Titanium planet but can't find a suitable replacement for andromas.

Don't worry about xferring to your ship for this. the health drain from being super overweight only bring you down to 5-10% before it stops hurting you. get enough weight and you can sprint permanently even at full red health bar. The blinking can be annoying, but you save a lot of time not constantly going to inventory to xfer it all to the ship. EDIT: Also for the ship issue, just save and reload the game and it will appear. Sometimes it's in the port instead of above it, but after accessing the ship menu for editing and exiting it'll be back up properly.

Hold up this might be an interesting variation of this. You don't mess with Cargo-Links *at all*. Instead, you have 2 dedicated outposts for each of the com relay ingredients. You pick up a dumb amount of them manually, way more than you can carry without being encumbered. You drop them on the ship, it stacks as just one dropped item. Fly over to the other planet. Get the other material. Then at the 2nd outpost if you have a workbench there you can proceed to make your comm relays. Less efficient, but less complicated. Still likely lucrative

The cargo-link system doesn’t seem to work properly for me. Outgoing ships seem to work just fine, but on Lantana no ships ever seem to come in to deliver the Neodymium. So instead, I set up some cargo transfers and manually transfer any material I need in my inventory. Yeah, I’m encumbered, but it only makes things take a few seconds longer. By the time I’m done, all materials are used up, and if not, I’ll usually have enough cargo space on my shop to store what’s left. Manually moving things is so much easier than dealing with the grief of cargo links. At least, until it is fixed.

I'm trying to follow this video on Xbox at a level 22. Perhaps you made a video for dummies, like me, explaining if most of the stuff you are doing is locked behind advanced skill trees or learned recipes. 1st: how are you grouping the storage units together; through "create output links?" 2nd: I don't even have the "Builders" category in the Build Mode. Is this found by leveling the Outpost Engineering tree? 3rd: I don't have the "Warehouse" option for the Storage category either. So how do I obtain that? I simply stopped watching the video just 7 minutes in because I quite literally cannot advance any more. I found that the cargo link is bugged. At least with two on the same planet. Mine wasn’t pulling any resources from the storage and if you manually put it in the cargo link it would disappear completely. They need a system to name them and choose specifically which link it goes to. I did the first XP farm last night and it works well, just a lot of setup. I also used all planets in Alpha Centauri. Zamka, Kurtz and Voss. Having scanning 1 is necessary to find the Cobalt on a scan.

ok but how do you link 2 outposts and make the material transfer more efficient? the "cargo ship" in the cargo link seems to be the bottleneck, allowing you to only transfering 500 materials per landing. i made 2 cargolinks (which in total 4 cargo links, 2 for the sender and 2 for the recipient), but it definitely take same space in my outpost, not to mention materials needed to build it.

You never have to worry about being encumbered anyway. You can infinitely sprint with no oxygen, health only drains to 10%. Its a useless shstem outside of combat. Cargo ships are also useless for this kind of thing when u can just carry it all yourself

For my world generation in the game the border with cobalt, helium and nickel doesn't exist at all. Spent 4 hours trying to find any area like that before I gave up, just wasn't worth the time in the end. Is there another planet that you could suggest that might have similar elements?

I go to narion and use 2 construction methods first the adaptive frames and the 2 is to construct coms relay 90% is found in 1 system.. 99xp for the frames and 198xp for the coms but i make all the materials on 1 planet so to construct the com relay you need construct 2 materials that are 99xp each. The best part is that you can construct the adaptive frames 80% off the time and after the suply yiu can cinstruct the rest. I made a lot level 400+ in one day😅

@@VideoGameDataBank yeye, outside the fact the biome lines are a bit hard to see i found it extremely useful given its resource generation, wait time and lack of animals to defend from. Glad you liked it! I will be searching for more planets (namely ones with tier 3 and 4 resources to take advantage of) and moons once i get some more side quest done and a few more levels

anyone else having issues where gas storage containers are not "cascading" to each other? Mine stay full where the extractors are dumping into and not filtering down the line. I have them all linked properly..I've even redone the whole chain multiple times.

i absolutely CANNOT tell the difference between hills and craters on this world - i cant find the seam to even start to try to follow it. what's a better world?

The issue with your Titanium planet suggestion is that it requires a skill for being able to build the outpost on the planet. Might you have any other planet recommendations?

All planets with titanium are extremely cold, so you always need the skill.

Every time I think of a character getting like 4 or 500 levels I'm just imagining them looking like they haven't slept in a month red blood shot eyes and when they run into an enemy they just scream so hard that the enemy dissolves lol

It would have been good to warn the view that you *cannot* follow this through, *without lvl 1 "planetary habitation"* I cannot build an outpost on Andromas. And other people here say they couldn't find another planet with the same resources, but a better environment.

To get even more xp..romance a character then sleep right before and also purchase tea at paradiso that will give you +2% xp gain. Total 17% more xp

You could sleep and drink some tea before crafting, to get an extra +12% XP while you're crafting all the stuff.

I saw another comment like this and now I'm wondering, did you land at new atlantis and run to jemison mercantile? Or did you start somewhere else and go to jemison, maybe if you start in the commercial district and then go to jemison maybe the ship isn't at the dock? I'm not sure, but make sure the ship is at your dock and make sure it's cargo space isn't full.

I always play in the play at Bethesda game legit but never do. Less then 1 week and I’m taking the elevator on Jemison to the well and then back to the starport to respawn civilians to powerlevel ballistics

Also, if you have romanced a companion and go to bed, you will get another 15% xp bonus, then you can drink a coffee to bump that up to 17% xp bonus in total.

I think I am going to do something similar, but instead of having the magnets and Tau Grade made for me, I am going to make them all manually. So I will get the 108xp (rest bonus) for all the magnets and tau grade, and then get the double XP for making the com relays. Since you can't cheese the cargo ships by resting, I might as well use that time to get even more XP.

His idea is neat but it's alot of money and resources a new player wouldn't have. And an older player might be trying to finish loose ends and does not want to wait half a real day. Ur idea seems better

@@chowjappa6470 I didn't want to make my main character too OP so actually made a new account last night and was able to get enough money to purchase all the resources within an hour or two. I just did the linear first couple missions looting anything valuable then traveled to a random abandoned outpost and looted it as well. I was able to do all this afterwards with no problem.

I also went this route, I allready have the al frames, tau grade and that vlave thingy in one outpost only need to get magnet end and I am all set, plus i have AMP production also

How do you disconnect things? I screwed up the order of everything at a different location. Do you lose everything if you start over?

If you mean the output links, you can hover over the red line when in Modify Mode and it'll show a button to hold to delete it. If you want to delete output links between storage containers that are stacked together, you'll have to move the containers apart first so you can actually see the red line. If you have a lot of storage containers, it may be easier to delete and rebuild them. You lose nothing for deleting something in an outpost, as you get back all the resources you spent to build it.

Have you experienced the issue with your solar arrays and extractors randomly exploding? I’m on Xbox and it seems like if I place over about 6 extractors (even with turrets places) every now and then they start to explode and I have to constantly be repairing. Wonder if it’s just an Xbox thing

Happened to me as well and it ended up stopping, I had buildings on top of each other and moved them around, that's my only guess for a fix.

I don't know if that's a bug or not. The only time I had it happen was on a planet with animals, and I placed a bunch of turrets all over the base and then it didn't happen again. It might have just been a coincidence though I don't know.

@@VideoGameDataBank weird, yeah I did it on the moon andraphon like in the guide and that’s where it was happening. I had like 10 extractors per each resource and I would repair them all as well as the solar arrays and before I could repair all of them they’d be blowing up in the same order I just repaired. Reduced it down to 5 per resource and just a little bit more power than needed and it seems to have fixed it.
