Fun fact, there’s 6 types of tapeworms you can get. There are pork specific tapeworms just like there’s beef and fish specific tapeworms you can get. You can also get tapeworms from eating any food that has tapeworm eggs on it. Tapeworms eggs live in human poop, so if someone with tapeworms gets poop on their hands and that poop has eggs in it and they don’t wash their hands before preparing your meal, you can get tapeworms.

Hate to disagree with Sean´s logic, but pigs don´t get tapeworms from other pigs... they start out as tapeworms, that´s where pigs come from, tapeworm is the first stage, than they cocoon up and a pig comes out. This is why pigs are found unholy in some cultures, same reason no one eats frogs (except the unholy French) or butterflies. Just a little fact for you..
