1-Thank you for posting this video. Thumbs up (of course!). 2-Absolutely gorgeous ship! She’s a unit! I had played the original Starfleet Command games and as a kid and the Ark Royal was the best looking ship I had ever seen. Plus; it was a ”carrier” a.k.a my favorite ship-type in any space or naval combat games (when available). So; ever since STO was released maybe in 2010’s; I was looking forward to the release of my precious… the Ark Royal class. And finally; she is to make her debut on STO, a most welcome guest to our host indeed, I would say 🎩 off to you :P

Wouldn't it be just hilarious if the Ark Royal, as the new heavy carrier class, had only 2 or 3 weapon slots but 6 hangar bays? That'd be fun as hell!

The Romulan Warbirds from SFC II look like a perfect intermediate between STO's Thrai Class and the D'Deridex Class so I hope a version of those ships is incoming. The Klingon designs are not bad either, especially the battleships. The really cool SFC designs are, of course, the Hydran ships with the Hellbore Torpedoes and Fusion Cannons.

The Ulysses and Yamato classes. I remember, right before I left the modeling scene for SFC, a beautiful Ulysses model was released. While being around 7-9k polys, it was smooth, clean, and gorgeous. The Yamato Class, there are some beautiful and gorgeous models currently being used in Bridge Commander. FYI, some old school SFC modders are working on revamping SFC:OP. Just saying. :D

Fingers crossed for other faction ships if their branching into fleet command slash other games out there. Never been much of a sci fu captain mainly shield heavy DPS ships that dish out damage and can take it.

Interesting indeed , this must be a very old type of Ark Royal , my current one is a Sovereign Class , Ark Royal NCC-82207 , good luck with this one .

I'd love to see the NX based battleship that was called the USS Yorktown in the same game. I loved the look of that ship and think it shouldn't be too difficult to adapt to STO or even make it a 2409 design.

It won't be 3 Hangars. It's not like the Jupiter doesn't also visually have a dozen different bays. It's purely a visual detail.

capts, is there a quick and easy reference tool to cross check before buying a new ship, if you already have a generic variant of that class , but with a different name and or faction or skin, or on another alt toon , already acquired from say an anniv bundle , mudds package, etc? (its confusing to me to kno off hand that ship y is a variant of ship x by a different title, that i already have somewhere on my account). in order to avoid duplicating buying a z store ship, whose class which you already have from ,say, an anniv or mudds bundle?

Great, another expensive lock bock ship incoming. Better stock up on the scam box gambling keys while on sale. You'll need at least $200.00 USD to even remotely get within the hemisphere of possibly winning one of these SCAM BOX ships. But chances are, it's going to cost closer to $2,000.00 USD in Scam Box keys.

The only Romulan ship i really want is a D'deridex flight deck command carrier. That class was originally designed by its creator Probert to feature extensive hangar bay facilities in the lower hull section. And Klingons really deserve some love too, they especially lack decent carriers besides the D7 FDC.

Design team decided to give the TMP era designs some more presence in the game. So there will be a focus on those going forward. Which is perfectly fine with me. I dig those clean retro lines!

I would like most if not all of those SFC ships added into the game. A lot of variety in TOS/TMP skins that would look gorgeous with modern graphics. It might even give KDF and ROM some interesting ships that are not butt ugly. I don't know what Cryptic was thinking with over half of the klingon ships, half of the romulans and probably a third of the fed ones. If i would get my wishlist since it's Axemass and while cowering inside from Robot Santa Claws one can dream: 1) I would replace most KDF ships with the some of the older FASA designs, (at least those tried to keep the klingon lineage in mind), or some of the fan designs that look klingon. 2) Add "refitting ships" as a feature, move weapons slots around, change specialization seating, add some armor, shields or movement if i would choose so, within reason, for dilithium, at least that way the zen market wouldn't be stuck all the time. (but then again it's not like the game has any balance beyond zooming around the map, hard stop, DPS rinse and repeat) . 3) Add a fucking option to unify weapon colors and effects (at least within the same energy type), i am sick of having rainbow spewing ships no matter what you build for. 4) Get rid of CSV (it has no place visually in a ST game, maybe make it a point defense thing but even then i don't think it was ever depicted on screen). 5) Maybe splitting the eras, seeing TOS, TNG and STO designs trashing the borg in a random TFO really breaks the immersion and the feel. 6) Get rid of all the screen filling effects, i don't need 20 gravity wells every time a sci ship is in the game and decides to clear the map in one go, and i don't need to see 20 torps or more when i release a split torpedo 3, 7) What is with the all the "magic" BS ? ST was never about ships throwing lightning bolts or flaming breath in the vacuum of space at each other. 8) Bringing the combat more in line with Bridge Commander would be awesome 9) Get the factions to feel at least a tiny bit different and the ship classes to actually have a role beyond DPS. In SFC2 if you had a ship that used most of it's power on ECM you couldn't target it, you had to counter with ECCM, the FED ships had shields that actually worked and took time to bring down, if a klingon got in your rear arc and you couldn't dislodge it with mines or outrun it you were screwed, a romulan decloaking and dumping three heavy plasma torpedoes usually meant you were dead.

there is only one ship it needs to be comparable to is the flight deck carriers. if not its just another average carrier to this day both MW flight deck carriers are the best carriers in game

Honestly, i wouldn't mind a new heavy carrier class with 3 or even 4 hangar bays and a 3 -1 or even 4-0 weapons layout. Really go all-in on the pet spam build. This way, one could have both debuff pets, DPS pets and support frigates at once.

give us the eclipse class (I wanna say its a fan ship) that one you tuber calls the real enterprise g in 2 versions a 4/4 cruiser in the c store and in the lockbox a 5/3 with an experimental weapon slot, both ships have the ability to split into 3 parts and the lockbox one comes with the real enterprise g card..... well why not? you know people would go for both ships.

I'm good with a 4/4 and would come closer to getting it over spending a fortune on keys and as a mostly free to play player, money for keys is not very high on the priority list. Sides the only difference between the two would be the weapons layout and the existence or lack of the experimental weapon slot.
