@@videogadabout Ricky Gervais played the original manager in the British Office series (2001), the American Office came out 4 yrs later which Steve Carell played basically the same character. Kirkland brand is Costco's discount knockoff brands. Basically Colbert called Carell a cheap knockoff.

@@CelticWarriorWoman I did not know Kirkland was a Costco brand. Now I get it. I felt the American Office has a completely different tone than the British Office. The British version uses dark humor whereas the American version is sugar coated like many American TV shows. So in a way it was a cheap knockoff. But never the less they are both great TV shows. It was always great because these two are such fluid performers. They prepare well and can make a loosely rehearsed bit look extremely polished. Their improv backgrounds served them well.
