That Diablo Fiero would be the PERFECT candidate to swap in an LS4 (with ported milled 58cc 706s+ thinner headgaskets to get the compression up to 11:1+, NBS/TBSS intake, a nasty cam, headers) and an F40 6 speed manual transaxle. Depending on how hard ypu work the 5.3 with flattops they can make around 500hp at the crank. In a car that tiny and light it could be a fun car and reasonabibly good on fuel too, at least 20-25mpg with he right gearing and tuning making 450-500hp, at a lower state of tune making 350-400hp could get close to 30mpg. I'm not sure if I could be that kind of guy with some fake Lambo...I would probably rather just have one of the last model year Fiero GTs and do the LS4/F40 or just get one if the last model MR2 or early Lotus Elise and do that swap.

Buddy of mine had a base Fiat 500 and the things transmission detonated under normal driving under 80k miles. They said the transmission replacement was going to be more than the car could sell for in working order so they scrapped it. I hear the Abarth's are slightly better but still piles of shit. Subaru's CVTs fucking suck too. Toyota is the only company that has a half decent one, emphasis on the HALF part. It has a separate gear for 1st and reverse so it gets rid of the low RPM starting off problems, but they've still been recalled 7 times and still just randomly explode.

Having worked at an auction house every single 500 abarth drives like it's either been babied its entire life or is singing the song of its people one last time. That being said I've seen multiple Nissan CVT's just give up on the way around the auction and have yet to 500 being pushed so there's that.
