Gorilla boys played a lot of hours TOGETHER , have practice lots of new tactics. They know perfect wich units they need to fight somme kind of enemy units. And there enough tricks to foul enemy players who like to attack. And sommetimes it is good to give somme ground to have more kills with archers... The more you play and practise with youre mate the better you both becomme . Like apollo once said, manny small victories makes one big victory !

Apollo keeping up the daily vids is awesome! We all appreciate the hustle and hard work, haven't missed a single one of this series. Great game, if the whumsars had managed a little bit better their generals at the end and the enemy archers in the earlier stages, they could have won this. We'll se how the next one goes, can't wait for the two series of the Crimson Chickens ;))

it would be a really cool feature that the bodies would stack, and if you have archers on top of the pile, they would get a range increase, but also a morale debuff, because they are standing on bodies :P

Fun fact ! If people didnt know this shooting at units on their sword carrying side does more damage than shooting om their shield carrying side !

Genuine question, why does noone utilize the towers? Like, Apollo had a point at the beginning of the video, those parthian swordsmen couldve overwhelmed the defenders if you send them at once. Last 3 seiges all look like a grind battle and who has better micro in the same area of the siege..

Well first of all the unit that is landing through the tower cant really charge so you lose out on the charge bonus. Another big thing is you also dont get to throw your javies, and you saw how devestating those things can be. It is also very easy for the defenders to javie them or encircle them while they are still landing. You saw me do it, with the ladders, since they make units climb faster and still that thorax got nearly deleted in an instant - took so much micro and missiles to save them although they still were pretty depleted by the end

Kinda odd to leave both generals alone when so much is on the line, poor choice but ultimately would probably ended the same.

I think that the battle was turning in their favour. With their generals alive their units could have held firm, but even if they were losing sending BOTH generals to their death is completely suicidal and braindead. They made a good play by charging the enemy archers and then decided to top it off by losing the game

Hey Apollo I just want to give you some advice. I’m not the best player on the world but I have beat much better players then me because they play like you. I mean no offense in that. What I’ve realized about a lot of top tier players is that there planning for every possible scenario and waiting for the opportunity to jump it which is good on most aspects. Yet slowing down and letting the enemy come to your defenses while defending and being patient is better you think clearer and if you place troops correctly you can respond fast. While attacking I recommend something similar plan what ever attack you want but be patient with it until you see a weakness. I recommend you do that next time you face off against gorilla boys in the playoffs or any other team. Just take your time to scan to cool your brain helps you micro better to.

Being passive isnt always bad. Waiting for an opportunity to strike. But being proactive when your enemy isnt is the best way to get victory. Sitting back and waiting for your opponent to come to you can lead to them getting into positions you dont want them to be in. Be proactive. Make things happen and control the flow of the game.

Pikes are too easily dealt with + restricted in use with this ruleset so not worth it for the great players here.

I find using hoplites as hopelites, especially on defense, they can do really well. Using at least formation attack, but mainly hoplite wall ability they are great for holding a chokepoint, and can even get decent kills. If i instead take them off formation and send them in like regular spears or sword infantry, its really hit or miss onchow well they will do

If the attacker isnt using their towers and only attacking the single breach point, i think its better to make a concentrated defense at the breach. If the attackers are using multiple avenues and or towers then i think it can be better to fall back in to the city, or at least away from the walls.

the initial attack was picture perfect. took time, went in with tank hoplites and backup archers. kept the sword inf to clean up. well im at 12:20 so loving it
