Another fabulous vlog, Evie. Congratulations for both horses. They are both stunning. Maggie is a superstar 🎉 Donut is doing brilliantly - what a jump he has!!! I loved the way Donut jumped the cross-country, even when he's unsure - was it the 'bird's nest' skinny? He looked at it as he jumped it, bless him. He so wants to please, even when he gets a bit 'giddy' in the showjumping with a "let me at them" attitude🤗. I love watching your journey with your horses. Thank you so much for sharing & all that involves. Best wishes to you, your precious Mum & your 4-legged family ❤

So glad to see Maggie back to her happy self and what a lovely test she did. Congrats on second place but she will always be first in my eyes just love her ❤. Donut what a guy. He is looking fantastic and I thought he did a really nice test too. A wee bit exuberant in the showjumping as he was keen to get to those jumps but he is so capable at that level and a lovely cross country again which is such a confidence booster for you 😊 you are so caring and hard working and love your vlogs. ❤🥰

Love your vlogs and really enjoyed your course walk and the rationale behind your lines etc. How do you keep the white boots so white?! I need a set of boots for my chestnut and had been debating what colour but never thought of white. Looks so striking!
@ELSEventing2 ай бұрын
We love the white on the chestnuts! I wish more brands did white xc boots. Donut’s boots are new this year but Maggie’s must be about 7 years old, I literally just put them through the washing machine! I think the outer material is quite waterproof so they stay white fairly easily x

I run an animal rescue. The dog deep breaths can be a lot of things but they do call it “reverse sneezing”. If he’s doing it every once in a while I wouldn’t worry about it but if he all of a sudden started doing it a lot he might have caught kennel cough which is basically a bad doggy cold.
@ELSEventing2 ай бұрын
Oh amazing thank you! He does it very occasionally so sounds like the reverse sneezing but I will keep an eye on him ♥️
@oldageisdumb2 ай бұрын
@@ELSEventingI think a lot of dogs do that now and then
@kellybiddulph4212 ай бұрын
@@ELSEventing my dog started doing it suddenly in the backseat of the car while we were driving one day, so we went round the corner straight to the vet LOL and he said the same thing ,it’s like a reverse sneeze . He also gave me a tip, that if it doesn’t go away and if the dog looks a little bit distressed you can put your hands around the dogs nose, like cup your hands around his nose and gently blow into his nostrils like a short sharp blow and it sort of shocks the larynx ,you don’t put your lips on his nose, just blow like you would blow out a candle . Same as when someone giving you a fright when you’ve got the hiccups.

It looked like Maggie was relaxed and riding forward and smooth in the show jump. Both were doing well this day. Do you know abuot equireel? You can get video when you are jumping all the fences in cross country and you can yourself see how you jump in the cross country and you could add this to the vlog

@@ELSEventing I'd a sudden recollection of watching someone's vlog where she stopped and asked the judge if it was okay to do something (can't remember what) and she was allowed to. Or maybe the judge stopped her and said she could sort out whatever the problem was...?

How long does it take you roughly too walk a course I'd like too do a one day event with my ex racer but obviously i don't want time too get away from me 😊❤
@ELSEventing2 ай бұрын
I leave an hour to walk if I am on foot and if I am on the bike I can do one course in 20-30 minutes easily. If you’re planning timings for your first event, plan an extra 30 minutes leeway - that way if you can’t find something at the venue or get stuck in traffic or have trouble getting studs in etc, you’ve got extra time. And if nothing goes wrong, you have some chill time! X
