Ken's Full Story Leading into Street Fighter 6

Couldn't tell ya, as Alpha 2 and the SF2 animated movie both came out in 1996. Probably shared the information there and both decided to portray it, albeit in somewhat different ways.

SF Alpha 1 was a 1995 game that features the aforementioned headband as Ken's ponytail band. I think it was always planned out as soon as they make the headband red in SFII.

Juri should help Ken out in SF6. She has a past of putting down organizations and considering Ken is kind of isolating himself to protect his loved ones, someone like Juri could be very effective at getting intel and her and Ken's chemistry could be a very entertaining scenario to see especially with their personalities. I'd get a kick on how well they would work together emotionally and physically.

Ken doesn’t dye his hair that was never confirmed only speculated by fans. Capcom keeps things mysterious, they understand people will speculate and have fun with it. Kens beard is blonde which leads me to believe it’s natural

I'm 39 and I been a fan of street fighter since its inception. I like the way things are turning up with Ken. Although Ryu will always be my favorite I'm glad to see some respect being put on Ken's name. I can't wait to see what baby Ken will become. Side bar: when tf is Ryu gonna find a women and have some kids! He doesn't even have to stop fighting but got damn it he needs a son! That boy would be legendary!!!

find it funny in the main series it's ryu and ken when in the vs. games it's ryu & chun li.(wish we'd see him & sakura in another vs. title) always loved ken's moments in the series like giving ryu his hair ribbon as a way to help him focus(love the animated movie's version a little more with how it's a visual apology for going a bit too hard with training/gets a callback when ryu tries to snap violent ken out of it.:3),him,sakura & sagat taking on m. bison long enough for ryu to defeat him(with how charlies ending got retconned out/the satellite appearing in 5 assume karin destroyed the psycho drive with it.),his meeting with eliza(off model early capcom arcade art aside.) that with how 2's canon events are pretty murky headcanon he won against ryu and won. his moments in 4 worrying for his family with eliza assuring him enough to go ending with mel's birth and meeting sean early in 5 influencing him in 3 likely from saving the matsuda from fang/his big sister going with ken and enjoyed the family theme with mel(do wish we saw eliza in the main story.) and chun li and cammy seeing it with the new family they get at the end. with his 6 story with him hiding to protect his family from the people who framed him(think it's gill's group manipulating the mad gear.) hope we see ryu help him out alongside mel being playable(like ken's 5 arcade ending where he starts to throw hadoken's/hits ken right in the nuts by accident making it look like a fighter struck him mortally.) since li fen is or with how she's trying to find something to do with life(and sadistically mocking ken about it when he's still in a way better life path than her.) juri help him.

Ken should be the main character of SF6 he's literally the only one of the trio that never had a real purpose. Chun LI wanted revenge on bison 👍 Ryu beat the satsui no hado 👍 Ken wants to...uh idk beat Ryu? This was the PERFECT opportunity to both introduce Luke as the future protagonist and finish off kens story

After successfully clearing his name, Ken reclaims the family business. But, because of his time spent on the streets and in the underground world, his new methods of furthering that business would later involve affiliations with crime syndicates, blackmail and murder. Eliza resists and plans to leave with Mel, but Ken finds them at the beach and, while he leaves with his son, has his goons eliminate his wife. Some time after Eliza's disappearance, her brother, Guile, manages to tie the loose ends and figures out that Ken murdered his sister and goes to confront him, telling Luke to look after his bike. But Guile would finally meet his defeat at the hands of the same man he went to confront, since Ken, having vast experience in masterminding socio-political and economical affairs, had been anticipating the match. He leaves his brother-in-law paralyzed for life and comatose with absolutely no possibility of regaining consciousness. Sometime after, we find Luke at the hospital, protesting against the wishes of Guile's family to pull the plug on the machines keeping his friend alive, but gives in knowing that's what Guile would wish for and that it would be best. He asks the family to let him be the one to take the responsibility to end the man's suffering. Luke, now devastated, goes into hiding and starts roaming the streets at night, infiltrating various gangs known to export goons for hire and that consistently collaborate with Ken's 'Masters Foundation'. It is there where he learns that Ken plans to hold a Tournament of his own where he intends to kill Ryu and Chun-li, his only remaining rivals which would surely find out what he had done. He decides he would join. It is around this time that Luke started a romantic affair with Sidney, a waitress at one of the bars ran by the gang he was involved with. One night, a 'Masters Foundation' recruiter busted into the venue to announce the organization had open spots and was looking for fast recruitment for the upcoming Tournament. There is only one recruitment rule and it's simple: Kill an innocent. The sound of broken bottles was a usual occurrence at the bar, but Luke never heard the tray drop until that moment. As he turned, he barely caught Sidney's last glance at him before the life left her eyes, the knife still sawing her throat until she swiftly fell to the ground, decapitated. Luke only woke up out of his rage after Sidney's killer was just a pile of mashed meat and bones. The recruiter was standing in front of him, pleased with such force and brutality and hired him on the spot. At the 'Masters Foundation', Ken and Luke are staring each other down. On the desk lies a still unsigned VIP Protection contract for the upcoming event. Ken finally asks if the terms are unsatisfactory, but Luke replies that he wants to fight in the Tournament. Figuring out part of his intention, Ken then asks Luke if he is sure about that since he saw how simple the rule of recruitment was and that he would still need a VIP bodyguard for his guests at the event. That would mean more blood on Luke's hands. This enrages Luke but he manages to collect himself. Ken is amused by this and hands him an invitation, then swiftly incapacitates him. Luke wakes up in an alley, in the rain. A baby cat took shelter in his jacket. He thanks her for keeping him warm and takes her to his apartment. Names her Sidney, and starts training. At the Tournament, Ken always watches the fights with his young son, Mel. This newcomer, Luke, is very strong. Ken is very irritated that day. There are 3 fights left counting the one currently ongoing, clearly in Luke's favor. Ryu and Chun-li were already eliminated and seemingly vanished right after their fights. Both defeated by "this boy", as he keeps referring to him. Mel likes him and his fighting style and tells his father he wishes to fight like that too one day. Ken ruthlessly slaps Mel and sends him out of the room with a couple of his goons. He has to prepare for fighting the Tournament winner. On the last day, Ken is waiting, atop the Masters Tower, for the winner of the day to arrive. The match isn't part of the Tournament, as it's been advertised as just a friendly Exhibition between former and current champions. But he knows it's Luke and he has other plans for him. Luke arrives and steps out of the helicopter that brought him. He has no apparent injury from his last fights and seems like he is determined to not give Ken an easy time. Luke's rage and lust for revenge is visible not only in his eyes but on his body as well. Each heartbeat hardens him and steam starts coming out of his forearms. He is also in full sprint toward Ken by now. "Not going to go out easy? Fine!", Ken thinks to himself as he dodges Luke's first attack. Fire propels his Tatsumaki. Ken lands his kick right on the side of Luke's face but he notices that eye contact was not interrupted in the slightest as, now, Luke grabs his leg and gi and plunges him straight through the helipad, onto the towers roof. As Luke is reeling back to deliver a swift killing blow with his Sand Blaster punch, a fierce Shoryuken hits him in the chest. The cameras are rolling but the fighters know this is a battle to the death now. Many hours later the tower rooftop was completely destroyed and the two are fighting in the rubble of what was once an office area. Twisted metal, rubble dust, fires, large amounts of paper floating in the wind and inside of it all, Luke and Ken are fighting it out like wild beasts. Punches thrown are so brutal they can be heard all the way down on the pavement. The downside of such brutality, Ken notices, is that he can only channel Hado through one arm now. But the realization came too late as Luke's fist was already on course and the impact threw Ken into one of the buildings exposed steel frames, bending it just enough to not let Ken fall. This was it, finally, he could end it... Sidney flashed through his mind and how, while they were on a date, instead of taking a dog that bit her to be put down, she insisted on taking it to the vet and adopted it. Killing Ken was no longer the priority. "Where did that fire go?", asked a bloodied up but smirking Ken. "I'm slipping, y'know..". Luke realized his adversary wasn't lying. Maybe he hit him so hard that his muscles weren't ready to sync up with the brain. He found himself running over, crawling on the steel frame and extending his hand to try and grab Ken in time. An ugly smile was painting Kens face as he purposefully pushed himself just a small necessary distance, to one side, to slide off and hang from the frame by one arm. "I'm going to dirty you up real good, boy! Shame I won't be around to read about what they'll do to ya, since you killed me and all that.. Ah, who cares!?", were Ken's last words as he let go, laughing at Luke until he died, moments before hitting the ground. The ending shows Luke managing to escape the authorities and taking Mel under his wing, traveling the country with their cat Sidney. Luke develops an entirely new fighting style and changes his name to Terri B. Gart. And Street Fighter becomes GAROU: Mark of the Wolves, just like how CAPCOM always wanted it.

@@SkillBasedGamer hear me out: - Ken kills himself to frame Luke - Luke runs away and adopts Mel and guiles daughter Amy - Luke changes his name to Jeff Bogard, Mel to Terry Bogard and Amy to Alice Nakata - After years in hiding a mysterious figure known as geese shows up and kills Jeff (Luke) *fatal fury happens* Terry (Mel) recieves a letter for a tournament and decides to enter *King of Fighter '94 happens tho not in 1994* At the end it's revealed that Rugal is Ken Masters who survived the fall due to tapping into the Satsui No Hado. Geese was also in fact the fighter Urien that worked for gil back in the SF days *Street fighter transitions into the KoF storyline* This would explain how Rugal had so much money, power and influence. Also would explain the crossovers between SF and KoF, and lastly Rugal looks like sf6 ken with a mustache also has similar attacks etc. Would be insane but genius

If u think about it, his son Mel Masters has a lot of potential to become a future SF character. His dad is Ken, his uncle us Guile, & his godfather is Ryu. I hope to see Mel mix the fighting styles (& special moves) of Ken & Guile

Its interesting to see what all this could possibly lead up to SF6 especially giving that JP could be the new main antagonist and maybe connected to Ken in some way. There's was even some audio file leaks (no spoilers btw) that may suggest even that. Either way I am looking foward to see what happens once the story is unfolded and that if Ken & Luke were to meet face to face they join forces or face each other in a fight.

The only thing that doesn't make sense to me... the terrorist attack that killed Luke's father happened in his childhood. Luke was an adult in SF5, and we're now past SF3. How and why is Ken connected to that incident so many years later?

I knew there was some connection between Luke and Ken, Luke has that same bravado that same self-assurance Ken has. You also failed to mention Ken beat RYU in the beginning of Street fighter 5, while I do love Ryu I'm a huge Ken fan, I'm going to be a loyalist and always will be always have been nothing's going to change that.

Ken is and probably always will be my favorite SF character. Hell as a kid, I took up Karate and got a Red Gi.. Gee?.. not sure how the spelling is tbh.. But ye basically copied his outfit and even wanted to grow out my hair like him lol
