In this case I’m really glad the engineer went so hard w/ the auto tune/the company let them. It fits so well stylistically and honestly without it the song would’ve lost that feel. The producer went hard with all those fills and the beat in general but that mixing and also mastering engineer went harder with the post processing. The first thing I thought right when the drums came in on my first listen was “thank god this mixing engineer actually let the kick have a presence in the mix.” It’s so necessary for these trap influenced songs but it’s subdued a lot in Kpop.

this is a really good debut and their sides tracks 1. Moon has a Loona vibe to it like similar sounds 2. Bon Bon Chocolat of course a full bop! 3. focuses more on vocals its a nice song to hear to destress

Everglow definitely does an amazing job at setting itself apart from other girl groups. Personally, I have never been really into any girl groups. I like Red Velvet and Mamamoo and listen to some of Twice's stuff but Everglow is the first girl group that has actually fully caught my attention. Their sound is just so unique and unexpected.

I really loved their debut, and I thought it was really strong! Also, Anth if you notice..The 1st drop is heavier than the 2nd and 3rd. The last 2 are emptier than the 1st one, it's a small detail, but it's cool.

since 2ne1 is too obvious a rec for some more autotune in girl groups i leave you this medium-sized list, some are oldies but they hold up pretty decently imo ----the absolute classic that is Brown Eyed Girls' Abracadabra, it has a dark vibe, killer vocals and a memorable video --- 4minute (hyuna's group)either I My Me Mine or Muzik, hype guaranteed ---T-ARA's Crazy Because of You, epilepsy warning, it's my fave but they have more examples than i can handle ---EXID's I Feel Good, succeeds at the trend of it's time which is to be catchy, and contains just enough of the tragic fashion from back then to merit your sympathy ---after school's flashback, og sexy concept girl group, very straight-forward club hard-hitter ---wonder girls' like money nails the american pop sound so it's not a bad song or anthng but it's less refreshing than others ---kara's speed up (which strictly speaking is a japanese single but if we were to rule out such a category a third of girls' generation bests would be tragically lost too, in this particular case Flower Power would be relevant) ---for something more recent there's Kyungri's Blue Moon that also happens to have an interesting video i am still confused about and of course one cannot leave out f(x) queens, goddesses, legends, visionaries, game-changers note-worthy track Red Light caused ripples on the scene persist to this day
