to me this song is an underdog song, so the line "the last be first" means that those who are in the last place or falling behind will be first ! it's kinda like a rallying song for those who feel like they are at the bottom

and then sihyeon's "please don't be fooled by the lies that there is no light anywhere in this world" line + the "together we're going to have a dream we've never seen before" line is saying that you there is always hope no matter how bleak or impossible something may seem bc change is always possible (which goes along with the "the last be first" line)

I feel like once you understand the lyrics it brings a 10/10 song to 100/10. "please don't be fooled by the lie that there is no light in this world" I feel like I used to be great and have so much talent and ambition, but the world has beat me down, I've become negative and cynical, and this song is like, STOP IT. Don't hide your talents from the world, dream the dream you've never dreamed before, go after your goals, put yourself first. They're even like, wake up at 530 at dawn, take it one step at a time, don't slow down! It's the exact encouragement I need to go out and be the artist I've always wanted to be.

I loved the song and choreo at first watch but something that came in my mind was how are they going to pull off singing this live with the intense choreo? but good lord, the girls killed it. Everglow has many instances of lip-syncing but they really sang in their performances and pretty well at that! they must have worked their butts of for this. So proud of them!
