Can’t believe the gorgeous Don was 58 here - he’s always looked much younger than his years.

Here, Don is a very good brother, because Phil has problems to braethe

@hummelne7041 - Yes, I see it now that you mention it. Phil is struggling to breathe, to sing, and to reach and stretch the final chord. He holds his guitar but doesn't try to play it. It seems to take all his energy just to push out the notes. I did not realize that COPD had already begun to affect Phil's breathing 20 years before his death. The comments often paint Phil as gracious, congenial, charming, and "hail fellow well met." Then Don is described as selfish, prickly, headstrong, and mean. But I have never believed it. One reason I've never believed it is that Phil himself described Don as flexible, willing to listen, easy to work with, and the very opposite of a power-hungry lead singer. Phil said that Don was not at all a domineering control-freak. In this video we can clearly see how tenderly Don keeps looking at Phil to be sure he's all right. So I often wonder if the many rumors about the brothers' difficult relationship were not manufactured and exaggerated for the sake of publicity. Don said when they were singing, they could read each other's minds. I don't believe that kind of harmony is purely musical. I believe it is emotional as well.

@@hummelne7041 - Congratulations on your English. I can't speak a word of German. Not one word! I have thought a great deal about Don's "unpopularity." I think that he was greatly misunderstood because he was the introvert of the two. There is a photo of Don leaving the stage. As he passes by several tables of fans and admirers sitting in a restaurant, he does not look at them. He does not acknowledge them at all. He does not say, "Thanks for coming out." His face is solemn, very private. Like a man who just wants to lie down. I actually know what that feels like and I can truly understand.
