This tip may be a year too late, but here goes: To get across the invisible bridge, use find to Ssra zoneline (or Fungus Grove if going the other way). You'll get a clear path exactly where to run. I've autofollowed boxes across at selos speed no problem this way. Just stick to the find path like glue.

For my SK and cleric (each molo-ing on their own), the Arcstone undead are a bountiful feast! So so good and plentiful. The only bummer is they hit you with a ATK debuff and really slow you down. Even still, this has been a fantastic place for these two classes. The only bummer is I've been hitting it daily with both and have yet to get the SK/PAL weapon to drop. And the SK was even able to solo the named roamer mob in the middle, with a little help from a ridiculous dmg shield. Thanks for these incredibly useful videos!

Old Seb - make sure you can snare / root a mob or those Froggies go arunning which isn’t great when you are solo asyou will have five more on you in no time

50 to 60 id also recommend City of mist and research you 1.0 epics. There is also a mana press shield that you can use for your casters. Plus some decent proc weapons. 60 to 70 go to dragonscale hills there is gear and weapons that have heroic stat boosts augs ect. And minotaur meat to make Stat foods. 70 to 75 Valladolid spiders and oozes great xp and rk2 spell drops. Just options.

I think he was focusing on Hot zones mainly but I second this comment. Mike is right on point

I would always follow the zones with the highest level mobs from the earliest expansions because the enemies will stay weaker than later expansions with enemies of the same level. Some Hot Zones can work but some are often a pain to reach and there's better alternatives.

Yeah some of the HOT zones are tedious to get to. Seems worth it in "most" cases though, I get about 20% of a level on most of them.

Went to Velks castle today at 63. Was getting 1.3-2% a kill. At 64 some mobs were still dark blue. Stayed till 65. Mobs were good exp and died real fast. Biggest pull was 6 mobs which my merc cleric and I had no problems with. At 65 before I left mobs gave .7-1% each depending on mobs level. After dailies tomorrow I will probably come back and stay till 66. Just too damn easy.

While it's not a hot zone you can hit the Plane of Fire castle around 65 if you are a tank class with a healer merc or as a necro you can kite it. Mobs in castle are level 65 so dont go light blue till 71 and at 71 you can go to the inner castle C2 for a few more levels or dark blues.

With an ench and the spell command of druzzil just go to the bee zone in BOT from 64 to 75, you lvl in 2 days.

Haha took me a while to figure it all out my first time. Every 5 levels or so new exp and new spells. I have location guides for all of them at this point I think too. If you need them

I went to veksar this morning but couldnt find the quest mobs (highborn and wraiths). I did level from 60 to 61 on the golems which were level 54. I will have to go back and chack again.

They are typically at the way at the very end of the zone. After the grandmasters/etc

@@hammackj I watched a video on it after I posted. Can run past golems through undead traders and up ramp then jump over wall right next to highborn and wraiths. I will try tomorrow. I did 62 in Plane of Innovation but now they give less then 1% a kill. At 62 I might get a doable mission in the 65 range and might skip veksar.

I was kind of excited to play again until you mentioned boxing. I know this game is old, but man I really don't want to form my own group by boxing.

Hey man, this video is kinda old so the info on that is a bit outdated. TLP == 100% chance to get a group in most cases. Live Join a guild and avoid boxing all together. Boxing is just a path you can take. I enjoy it personally but I make videos and don't like waiting for anything.

@@hammackj Thanks for the reply! That makes sense. I played EQ at launch, so chasing that dragon is probably just dumb, but would be kinda cool to have some of that back. I know a lot of people say 'play project 99' or whatever... but that's just a straight up illusion. Live or die. IDK. lol

I don't like P99 because the high end is toxic as fuck from what I understand. Plus on TLP all the raids are instanced so you can do them vs get on a waiting list or race for everything. /pick zones make leveling fun because you can actually kill stuff. I love live =)

3 characters is a huge assumption in the current era. Truebox is becoming more common.

Dunno. No live servers are truebox and the new TLP are limited truebox until omens. This is an older video tho, my thoughts on some things have changed.

I find my druid is a much better healer than my shaman from tss to sod so far on thornblade.i six box a MT group of clr/dru/ brd/enc/wiz and war. Currently in SOD, the shaman healing is kinda terrible. I know it gets alot better when they get the splash heals around 100/105. But 50 - 75, dru is the better healer imho.

I could see that. What do you heal with the cleric in group? I had a group close to this at one point and I only used the cleric heals and pure dps on the druid. Mind you this could just be I was on live vs TLP.

I'd really love to find a good guide without boxing. I don't know why the assumption is that everyone is going to be multiboxing at this point because it's simply not true. I have seen a lot of people that are not doing so and I am having a hard time finding a good guide that covers play without boxers.

Most of my guides are doable by 1 to 6 players, boxed or real players. It all boils down to efficiency. I play on a live server (bristlebane) and I rarely see anyone LFG before 115. I am currently doing a solo/molo series on Twitch with a monk. Doing all the locations I have mentioned in my leveling guides. I solo/molo'd my necromancer 1-120 for the most part with some boxing here and there. What class do you play? Live server or TLP? My guides don't really work as well on TLP as I jump between expansions a lot. Do you use a merc? Give me a little info on your situation and i'll see how I can address these videos to be more universal in my 2022 updates of the videos, which was my intent.

@@hammackj I still enjoyed your video for the record. I just realized how negative my post sounded. It is frustrating however just because finding that optimal zone for like, 55-65 has been difficult. I'm a wizard and I do have a tank Merc with me. But I seem to be caught in a rut where if I have like, one add, I get screwed and the Merc gets slaughtered. So I hang out in places like Velketor, but then then Im getting pretty low XP. I mean..it's certainly fine and part of the grind but I feel like it's.pretty damn inefficient.

There are so many ways to approach EverQuest and we all have our own goals, so I guess it is hard to find the ultimate guide. But the most important part has to be to have your own goals in the game. When you know your goals you can go about and try to solve them as best as you can. If you want to reach max level as fast as possible, your best option is to either start boxing or at least 2-3 friends, if you got 5 or even 70+ such friends, consider your self lucky and privileged. Anyway, I think most boxing guides would apply just as well to a regular group just replacing the boxed characters with real players. Other than that you could make several different guides to EverQuest, there are so many ways to play and enjoy it and it is hard to make a guide that fits all.

Multiboxing in Velks is NOT easy when you get the Paws daily. Navigating the ramps up is difficult.

You can invis them up 1 by 1, just time consuming. Great exp spot in the village.

I have been boxing all over Velketors Labyrinth with my 3 box crew, Shaman, Cleric and Monk. Normally I move my chars 1 by 1 (this was back when Velious was new of course). It is a great zone to explore and XP in (also today if you start out fresh). For powerleveling it is not the best place today of course, but for regular grouping and playtime it is awesome. Definitly one of my favorite zones from the old days. But yes, there are of coures way easier places to play and get XP. But I used to love the challenge of the deeper parts of Velketors Labyrinth.

Here's my take on "Boxing" multiple toons. Almost every single person, outside of the bubble of EQ, sees such a thing as cheating in an MMO. When people have tried EQ, that are curious about the history of MMO's, they play on live and all they see are a bunch of boxers and come away with 2 things. 1. They think it's cheating and sad. 2. They think Everquest has always been like that. I, personally, have no problem with the activity as long as they aren't AFK for hours on end. I don't like it. I think it reflects poorly on the game...but I do understand the reality of the state of the game. I also think that the whole reason they implemented "mercs" into the game was to alleviate the massively long LFG time with a smaller and smaller population in order to be constructive solo for more classes. I do not think it was intended to make "Boxing" easier so 1 person could do content that was designed for multiple PEOPLE....not just 1 person playing 2 or 3 accounts. As it turns out, Daybreak made lemonade out of lemons and now have an economic system that actually depends on boxing for the survival of the game...BUT this was not the original plan. "Accounts" don't talk, network, and spread the word about a game...PEOPLE DO! This is the failure of "boxing" and how I think it's unhealthy for an MMO. "Boxing" is a bandaid, workaround, or a jury-rig and is not a healthy system for MMO's to adopt. just my 2 cents;>

Boxing is a very interesting topic, almost like religion at times in the gaming scene. Personally I am against AFK botting/etc. I have always had at least 2 accounts in Everquest since launch. I even multiboxed in Ultima Online before I started playing EQ. Its all about time for me, if I log on and have to spend 2 hours trying to find a group I just wasted 2 hours. All my videos are on a fairly populated server and I rarely see anyone LFG and the ones I do see LFG are the same people who spam general with nonsense all day. On TLP the experiences are different but those all seem to have a huge population drop after Velious / Luclin. Realistically there are 24 servers currently and lets say the top end population for a server is 1k(Based on a high pop server having General chat 1 and 2 with 400ish in each room), probably less than 30K total accounts play the game now. It would be nice to able to to play with others at times but most of the time it isn't worth the effort. As for this guide I recommend at least 3 because things get hard and so far Necros are the only good solo class for what I have tried. A Zerk + a merc isn't going to last long enough vs exp mobs in the next video(75-115) so having that group base now is important. Currently every group I see in the wild on my server is using Macroquest with 6 characters, spamming instances or perma camping spots.

Valid points, but without the ability to box there are many who could not play. If you have a group of toons you can get on and get busy instead of hoping to find a group. I remember nights early on doing nothing but LFG

@@robmullins3619 Absolutely, I remember those days as well and was the main reason I mained a cleric for a year or 2 back around Velious until PoP or so. (easy to get groups) The "pandora's box" of boxing with mercs is not able to be shut. It is what it is, but I do think it's important to at least keep in mind how other modern MMO gamers think of it in order to keep ourselves grounded in perspective. "AFK Boxers" straight up take it too far and is where I draw a line. Dominating a camp killing a rare several times in a 8-24 hr period (I've heard of some staying in a camp for literally weeks!) deffinately DOES affect my game experience. It prevents me from killing a rare I may need...it floods the market with items monopolizing it which is bad for the server economy...and is just plain greedy and disrespectful to others. It's what ruined the Ragefire/Lockjaw servers way back when they promoted it as being a "Return to EQ like it was in 1999!"...I was there, and tried Ragefire/Lockjaw for a good 3 months. I saw streamers come and go away with a very bad impression of EQ. I saw returning older players give the TLPs a try with discussed rage at the "Bot Armies" and perma camps. I was also in EQ starting in Dec. of 1999...EQ was NOTHING CLOSE to what I experienced on Ragefire/Lockjaw...not by a long shot. Sorry for the nerd rage. It's not directed at you personally. The AFK boxers really cream my corn! (equal time: WoW had, and has, a problem with "gliders" which are afk botters in that game as well, but is limited in some ways by game mechanics to generally trash mobs and old dungeon content for transmog items...just as despicable to me I might add.)

Really, these zones are great: 60 Veksar 60 Blackfeather Roost 60 Barindu, Hanging Gardens 65 Barren Coast 65 Drunder, Fortress of Zek 65 Torden, The Bastion of Thunder 70 Arcstone, Isle of Spirits 70 The Hive 70 Stoneroot Falls Hell you can get 75 in Veksar easy, Bot will take you to 70+ Some hot zones suck yeah, but these ones are pretty easy. everquest.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ:Hotzones

I am 50% sure whatever quest he gives is the hot zone for that month. So if you get Veksar it’s the hot zone and not black feather or barindu. It’s a quick leveling series I typically only do one and move to the next band.

Necromancers also can rez. You also can buy rez tokens at the loyalty shop.
