EverQuest - Luclin class TIER list!

Here is my opinion on class rankings for Classic Everquest in the Luclin expansion- for the TLP server Oakwynd and P99/P1999/Quarm
What rises, what falls? Agree, disagree? let me know in the comments!

def happy to see you place wizzies alot higher, I'm usually parsing in the top 5 on a 72 man raid, but Ive ground out almost 200 aa already

We have a new member wizzy in our guild. 50% of bosses fight he parses on top.

Hmm. I never understand what are you ranking ? Soloing ? Raiding ? Boxing ? Grouping ? And what mob are you fighting on Luclin ? If it hits for 500+ or need an AE taunt. Warrior is S. Depending on the mob resists the wizzard can go from top to bottom of list. Also enchanter and bard for a group are top S, always. From Kunark to GoD at least.

SK's put out some DPS if played right on raids but do require a good 2her (Golden Rod for example) some mana regen items + Mental Corruption = endless mana, then taps, timing disc, and keeping dots refreshed just before fading (making a GINA trigger is good for this). So when you add that in plus how well they can pick up adds on raids with the new terror lines and just how well they tank/kite in general I would bump SK's a little higher for raiding :)

Alright only explanation is TBC secretly mains a druid and just wants to convince the rest of the TLPers that they are terrible so he can hoard all the druid loot for himself.

i live to 2 box a druid and enchanter, which allows me to charm an animal and run 2 charms. Plus druids get all the cool buffs and such. After 2boxing a chanter and cleric in the previous tlp, the druid provides much more utility (as long as i dont die). With a big charm, druid is S tier dps on par with enchanter.

Truthfully I think you did Paladins a little dirty. And, full disclosure, I'm maining a Paladin on Oakwynd. I think they deserved to go at least up to B tier, on these merits: They got a lot more fun to play (that's your main reason for ranking right?), they got a lot more utility and survivability. They buff the raid with Brell's (for those who want it, lol), they are the go-to Rampage tanks, their group heals are not too bad at all, and they have their AA mount which is really handy, especially in places like Sanctus Seru. When it comes to solo or small man play, they have great survivability with their fast casting HoT spell (which targets yourself if you're tanking which is sooooo nice). Their damage still sucks, but fights are usually a battle of attrition that the Paladin wins because of their survivability. I fully agree with your C (or below? lol) rankings from previous eras, but I feel like Paladins are finally coming into their own, they finally have a defined raid role, they got a lot more fun to play, they have some decent utility, plus Slay Undead is super fun when it's relevant. I'll shut up now, but yeah. I think B tier is perfect for them. I've never played an SK in this era, but it feels to me like they don't do anything on raids other than tank trash, and maybe put out half decent DPS for a tank, but what else do they do to keep them in B tier?

Enchanters critical for fast and steady Group content, and also have the most desired buffs to increase DPS on raids (Haste/KEI), while also being able to resist debuff / cripple and yet you still leave them at C? Boo this man!

You say you are basing the list on fun play style for you, then you rate 3 classes, which by your words can be played optimally with a simple macro or toggle ability while you go get something to eat, in top slots. Are you saying that your most fun version of everquest is not playing but letting it play itself?

It's funny seeing the class mains getting all offended by these rankings. FWIW I think you've still ranked druids too highly, they're a last resort that noone really wants to invite.
