I actually love FTE because of the anti-train. Also I agree with you. The bonuses should be like 200%, then years from now the server is like 500% exp, loot, etc. just go pure chaos with the bonuses.

FTE (Encounter Locking) has some great features, and some big issues. NPC's do hang up, guards stop responding, NPC just standing in the middle of a zone, not doing anything. They need to fix this, if they want to make this the new "standard" for future servers. (Yes, I'm looking at the 25th anniversary server next year). Talking about that, this server will be mostly DEAD in a year. Why? Everyone, yeah, everyone, will move to the "let's party" 25th anniversary server. It will just happen. We'll all want to be on those servers. With all that said Oakwynd is totally fun for now.

SO GLAD YOU FEEL THIS WAY I've been 'putting the fire out' in the daybreak forums since server release expressing these exact things (I even brought up Lguks trains! haha).. I never thought i'd say this, but FTE is fucking great. TONS of bugs Daybreak needs to patch, but overall it's certainly helped levelling chars. I also want to point out that the switch from NO TRADE to HEIRLOOM isn't brought up enough. in my opinion this is the biggest perk of Oakwynd by far... If i know I want to roll a Cleric next, I can farm out all the gear (NO trade or not) and just chuck it in the bank for when im ready. Heirloom also prevents raid gear from rotting.. Someone has an alt or wants an alt at all times, the gear is going to use! Daybreak is silly for not leading with this foot when describing Oakwynd.

The Evolving ruleset doesn't go nearly far enough, most of the 125%ers should come with Kunark, like all of the 125%ers right into Kunark for everything they are modding and then 150% into velious and keep it climbing, we're really only here until a new TLP releases this isn't going to make it as far as Mischief without something special. As far as the FTE, it is a bit annoying for the massive power leveling I do but I do think it does improve quality of life and was probably necessary, I would like to see an option the group leader can set to turn it on/off for mobs locked to them so we can still power level without having to spam /yell , I think FTE should be modified and carried over to a modified mischief ruleset for the next TLP.

Glad to hear that FTE is working ok. Will be interesting to see if there are any shenanigans with epic mobs in Kunark. ❤ the loot pinata servers. I just can't go back to servers with loot drops tuned for a 1 year/6 month xpac cycle compared to the 6-8 week cycle of tlps. Thanks for your content. Agree that the evolving rules should have a bigger impact.

I agree with wanting the numbers a bit bigger for the evolving ruleset. Another point I have made is that the legacy exp modifier seems low. 10% is such a negligible amount.

10% for first char but upto 100% is you are levelling 10! i know someone thats onto their 6th SK on the same account, getting the 60% boost.

I thought i would hate the FTE, but its been nice. Trains basically gone, in fact it means you get to cherry pick rares, so trains are great! Makes it easier to deal with boxers, and people who dont respect camps too.

Now that you ask, camps have been a lot better than last year, Yea, and we might attribute FTE to that. I've heard people have better results hunting jboots (I haven't tried yet). We've had a couple of raiding problems with it, something to do with the person pulling being killed while they're sole person on threat. Hit or miss whether the boss then engages and is invulnerable. The evolving rules mean absolutely nothing to me, nothing will be noticed IMO.

Honestly, I don't know why people keep saying this. The game feels almost exactly the same as it ever did. I don't know what about the FTE ruleset is more "casual" than anything else.

I wish the warrens and stoneburnt mountains were open in classic. Would open up alternatives for fbss and ssoy with quest item lesser versions of those two items.

Was exited to join your guild, i initially made an SK then decided to swap to a Warr (at the time they were needed). But due to real life stuff i didnt get to level up as much as i would have liked. Not even 30 yet and warrior recruitment is closed, not sure if i want to join as a second stringer. I do realize that this is because i dropped the ball and didnt level as fast as i wanted to!

I made a warrior alt cause we looked light, will say typically by kunark it will open up a lot, a lot of people start then quit,l and so on! I always say recruit the player not the character!

I would really like to know what impact 125% on loot ACTUALLY makes. It seems to me that it would only be impactful on raid boss kills when the boss normally drops 4 items, in which case you get 5 instead (so, dragons I guess? Even PoTime bosses only drop 3 things normally). Because if it's any less than that, what is 125% of a kill that drops 2 items? It's not like the mob can drop 2.5 items, which is what 125% of 2 would be. So what happens there? Should be interesting to see.

Classic is not really a test for FTE. The FTE test will be Kunark with epic mobs, VP keying, etc. There's not much in classic to fight over, however, from my experience so far the whole point of FTE was to stop mass pling, and training. It honestly did neither, and there are straightforward ways to get mobs aggroed on another group. The issue is most people weren't really training in every other TLP, and it wasn't that big of a deal. Kunark is going to be the true test with FTE.

Agree kunark will be a bigger test, but I’ve heard there could be some QoL improvements coming for kunark. The plying is going on and I’m aware of the exploits/bugs and how to do them. I will say there was never alot of intentional training but certainly accidental happened alot (hole , guk, chardok) and that’s what has really stopped!

Bonuses should be after the expansion they would be useful. Kunark should be Coin (instead of PoP), Velious should be Loot mod (instead of Kunark), Luclin should be faction (Instead of Velious), PoP Should be AAXP (Instead of Luclin) As for the percentages it is tolerable though it would be better if it was 150 vs 125 but then you would end up at the end with close to 800% on some items which is far too much imo.

I just joined this server last week and i already hate the FTE mechanic, mob spawn and are greyed out/cant atk for a few second before u can actually engage it... So when their is 2-3 player's around it, it goes to the one lucky to hit atk at the right time, why not make it go to the one who first engage as it spawn and turn grey for other's who were not fast enough...

My only adjustment I'd like to see, and it's a big one. Pets cannot be first to engage a mob.

Thankfully I’ve not come across intentional training! I think what fte helps with is with the accidental, which is far far more common

the one i saw was 100% a bot with a clicker going every 10 seconds! I always interact with people, send a tell ask how long they are staying, if its a genuine person i will always leave them alone, but i dont feel bad for being the first to engage against a bot!

@@TBCNexus That's great you were able to confirm. But I play 2 mages with my brother and we have LOTS of people that run in. Curse us out and take our mobs while CLAIMING we are bots. It sucks. Just because I choose to play 2 mages and an enchanter doesn't automatically mean I'm a bot. But the Oakwynd community is so rife with toxic players they don't care if I am talking or responding, they just spam I'm a farming bot as they're taking my stuff. Gearing out has been tough people SKs and warriors coming in and taunting our mobs before we can even attack.
