Okay, there's a screen on the volume knob and a second SSD-slot. But where does the 2x price tag over the A8 come from?
@agustinpaz153021 күн бұрын
It seems like it is coming from a better internal circuit, better clocking, better linear power supplies, bigger screen, better thermal isolation, better DAC, better r2r volume knob, better remote control, new room correction feature...
@christiankogler654721 күн бұрын
@agustinpaz1530 I understand...so, it's mostly a snake-oil upgrade. The price tag certainly is too high for what it is. At least for me.

@@agustinpaz1530 For me, it's something I can actually hear. A DAC which might be 0,1% better , a better thermal isolation in a system without heat and room correction for stereo is not a valid reason for twice the price (+€200 would be reasonable, but it's +€2000). If it would at least include an amp and 5.1 option to also use it for the living room... Nevermind, it certainly isn't for me but it could be the perfect match for someone else.

However, I would like to be able to use my two svs sb 2000 subwoofers together with my speakers. With the A10 is it possible to use the coaxial output to drive the dynaudio and at the same time use the subwoofer outputs to drive the subs while maintaining the preamp function for both the digital output and the subwoofer outputs? Furthermore, is it possible to have room correction on both the digital and analog outputs together?

“Room correction usually only found on more expensive models (sic)”. Let’s see now; Onkyo TX RZ30 $1200 with basic Dirac live, $300 for add on DLBC, pretty decent streaming apps, 9 channels of class AB power ( de rated to maybe 100 with all driven?*) dual independent sub outs, phono input - but then no fancy touch screen or volume knob displays. *as good an opportunity as any to ask what y’all think about the FTC’s proposed new power amp rating rules? Gene at Audioholics did a recent mini-rant on the subject.
@AudioAdvice18 күн бұрын
Yes the Onkyo is a great value, but the A10 is entirely different when it comes to decoding streaming audio, far better DACs and power supply. On the FTC, we love it. It is about time. Things went wild in the 70's with crazy power ratings until they stepped in. They had gotten out of hand again with some companies only quoting 1 channel driven at 1k with high distortion, let alone the crazy numbers you see on soundbars. Thanks for watching

My usb connection from PC to non-Eversolo reference dac causes a lot of popping noise. Will the DMP-A10 clean this up? So like PC streaming to A10 to reference external DAC--will it be cleaner?
@strongchallenger226922 күн бұрын
The popping noise is not from the DAC. You mentioned that you are using PC to hook up to your DAC via usb. It's your player settings from your Pc. What player are you using? Fb2k? I used to experience static noise too however it disappeared after some adjustments. I am using Fb2k. If you are, go to Preferences:Output and adjust the Buffer length. Try not to adjust too low. There are many factors that can cause static noise. Your PC could be the culprit. Make sure you update your DAC to the latest software. Good luck!

I'm sure this will elicit some interesting responses... Holy $$$ signs Batman 😢 For that price this thing better cook my meals too :-) I'm all for Eversolo's entry into the marketplace as a spin-off of parent Zaidoo... But let's face it they are not Aurrender, Bryston or NAIM or other big names that have been around a while with a proven track record. I think they're really pushing it with this pricing--being almost FIVE times the cost of their original A6 model? It also should at least have multi-channel capability rather than just two channel. And once again you have that completely useless in my opinion touch screenLCD panel and in this case a *secondary* LCD panel which adds significantly to that cost. This is obviously not going to be used at the desktop in 99% of the cases...so why include a panel that you're going to be 12 ft away from and have duplicated on your phone? I just don't get that thinking... I personally think the much better value is the parent company's UHD8000 @ $1500 which includes pretty good audio and also full video capabilities that the Zaidoo line brings.

This is basicly an ad for the product. I'm guessing Audio Advice is getting paid for doing this. It's like someone is trying to sell me a car. I find this lacking of the very things any audiophile would expect. Deep dive into the sound quality and comparing it with other expensive streamers in the market mainly soundquality in mind. Personally I've never gotten any helpful "advices" from this channel and it's not even in my audio bookmarks. I trust how I'm feeling and this is a pure marketing channel. PS. I have A8 only as a streamer to more expensive r2r dac. Which is to say I'm not angry. I'm just fed up. I'm just pointing out how these so called "influencers" are used by the companies. They really shouldn't get our trust that easily as a channels.
@Mixu56722 күн бұрын
I doubt anyone is paying Audio Advice for this (other than maybe KZbin add revenue). However they are retailers of Eversolo products and would naturally want to hype them up to drive sales. This being said, I think the A10 looks like a really nice unit. Is it worth the price? I'd say that depends on your budget and commitment to the "Hi-Fi hobby".
@AudioAdvice21 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. We were not paid for this review, but we did receive a unit early from Eversolo to review that we must send back. We also do not use ads on our videos so we do not make any revenue from ads. This KZbin channel is free. We wanted to make a solid "overview" about all the features and technology in the A10 for someone who is trying to decide if this is the right unit for them. We actually did really enjoy the sound and everything about the A10 so we put that in the video as well. If we didn't like it, we simply wouldn't carry it on our website and turn it down. Of course, we are dealers of this unit and all we ask for is that if you found any of the overview helpful, you can support us by giving the video a like or purchasing and of your audio/video gear from us at audioadvice.com. If not, no hard feelings. There are a ton of great dealers and influencers out there in the industry that we love to support as well. Hope that helps you understand our position. And thanks again for the feedback, we will consider this moving forward. BTW, happy to hear you enjoy your A8, that unit is great!

The volume knop is a gimmick, I would prefer a simple volume indication by a small line…

The A10 (plus a NAD M23 power amp) ticks all the boxes for me - at least for the next 5 years. Can then upgrade (again) to the A20.

We have not heard about an A12 coming anytime soon.

@@AudioAdvice It is just about a fine dose of sarcasm - does not hurt a new Eversolo customer as much as someone who just purchased a new A8 a month ago...

True, but we have not heard about an A12 coming anytime soon.

The only thing about the look I don't like is the screen on the volume potentiometer

They say retirement is the best, except when it comes to this hobby. Sure, you have all day, if you want to, to listen to tunes. Buying new toys, not so much.

It’s not worth upgrading to this unit if you have the earlier models as this company only wants to rinse you of your money 😢

What electronics company doesn't do that?

Look? A lot, loot worse, huge disappointment. And on this price range, where is i2s? This is high end streamer or what? No one used? Ridiculous. Cheap and weak lcd was replaced with modern Oled? Arc is much better, but why old multichannel output was removed? Or maybe - why it was placed in a6 if is not needed for anyone.
