10:03 there's actually a street fighter reason to why ryu's up air looks like this. In street fighter if you hit someone while they're in the air, you can't hit them until they get down. The exception to this was special attacks (shoryuken, tatsu) but you couldn't combo off those anyway. This move was the exception. It had to look like it was hitting up in order to have a reason for why you could combo off it afterwards The more you know

Dash attack is pretty bad, you have to be close and hit with the first few active frames. Nair does kind of suck though despite being a combo starter, any other attack in the game will stop it and you've started a combo on yourself. Down air is good, escapes juggles, can kill and conditions for down b shield breaks.

Another note on Pyra's down smash is that if you try to use it to hit someone behind you, it always seems to fail because she does a kick behind her before she actually hits them with the sword, so she'll basically kick them out of the way before you actually hit them with the sword that kills at 50. It really is a worse flame nova.

Coming from a Pythra main: Mythra's back air is probably her most rewarding move to land with. You can basically combo into imagination, and deal 40-60% just at almost any reasonable % range. Her down smash however is just as underwhelming as Pyra's

Her dsmash is pretty good Imo. It can be used to kill characters with bad recoveries very easily since the angle it sends at is disgusting and catches people off guard pretty easily due to its speed.

I actually really dislike the activation hitbox into cutscene Final Smash trend Smash 4 started. Most of them are functionally identical and just involve landing one move, getting warped into a pocket dimension, watching a cutscene in said pocket dimension, then watching the opponent take 40-60 damage and get launched at an arbitrary angle that makes no sense given the context of the move. Snores. I get nothing from Mega Man or Duck Hunt or Shulk or whatever dokng their Final Smash, they all feel so samey and disconnected. Characters like Cloud or Ryu/Ken pull off the activation thing much better, where it feels more tangible within the fight and not like an excuse to watch some cutscene where nobody putside of the cutscene is effected. Only exception I make is Sephiroth, I actually like his.

As a Byleth Main, I would have to disagree with up tilt being the most pathetic. By far their most pathetic move is their forward air. When you hit the sweet spot it does a wimpy little smack noise instead of the satisfying stab noise the back air does.

( 7:48 ) Olimar's down-tilt can at least extend into a combo (Oliver doesn't have many but other then through grabs- this move makes 75% of "combo" starters...the few that he has) So no, it's at least satisfying to land the down-tilt, try JAB- now that one's definetly pathetic, it's just a one-two flail of the arms(and if you wanna compare it to forward tilt, forward-tilt at least has a wind-up and feels satisfying to land, like a disrespectful slap to the enemy's face when they think you're helpless with no pikmin), Jab just looks desperate and it has extremely limited uses, unlike down tilt. (you call it rubbing his face on the ground, I call it a low and nimble surprise attack).

For ganon I would say it's either up air or spartian kick, the first one looks just so curled up and weak, it has good knockback but the animation is just so weak. For spartian kick it feels cramped and unnatural.
