@@ClassicPhysique27 I have farmer carry implements, I believe they’re from Vulcan Strength but I’m not positive. A couple years ago, when I bought my first program, I had the ability to do farmer carries so for the most part I did them. At the time my place had a connected garage, etc., but even then I hated it because people in the surrounding town homes could see me, and despite my size, I’m a modest guy. Now I have my own home, it’s showtime!

Just bought the program; really looking forward to it. Expecting it to be the most brutal Alsruhe program yet as I know how draining carries can be on their own, much more so paired with squats, deadlifts, etc every time out. Some great/funny lines as I read through… my favorite so far highlighting the importance of sprints… “complete xx 200m sprints in 10 minutes. If no space to run, do a 7 minute wall sit and use that time to think about a good place to run.” No thanks on a 7 minute wall sit, I’ll find some place to run lol.

Just bought the program! Super excited to use it to help me train for rugby next semester. 1 question though: I only have access to a gym on school campus with no sandbags. I plan on making them myself, but I saw sometimes they are used in the middle of a giant set. My initial plan was to do the sandbag phase of each workout in a park right next to my gym and then go finish the rest inside but after seeing that I would have to use the sandbags and a barbell in the same giant set (ex. 3 sandbag over shoulder to 2 front squats), I am now unsure because that would entail bringing a 250lb sandbag into a gym and hauling it around which I do not think is allowed. Would you recommend altering the program a bit so all the sandbag training is done outside the gym, or should I use something else in place of the sandbag, or is there another solution you would have in mind? Thanks! Btw is there somewhere we can donate to?

Brian this program is so well made, congratulations. I'm begining week 8 day 1 this Sunday, and this program has done so much for me already in 7 weeks. My grip is strong, I'm more confident loading sandbags, I hit a PR for 315 each hand on farmers and I'm just about halfway done with the program. Best of all, my conditioning has improved a ton. Took about 7 weeks to really feel like I am performance with decent condition and not feel gassed right away. Love this program!

And the Presses into waiters walks on Day 2 I had to drop the weight considerably. I guess I'll have to cut the weight as long as I get the distance\sets in on the carries?

What’s happening Brian? Love you’re content, and I’m glad you are doing way better health wise. I have a quick question about sandbags. I’m planning on buying some, but the ones that Cerberus had are the one that you tie at the top. Would these be good for the carry project? Only reason I ask is because I’m afraid they would burst open since they are not like the zippered ones with the Velcro, and since you gotta throw them over your shoulder. Any help is always greatly appreciated. Take care.

Love it Brian as always! I currently train full body 3x per week and finish each day with a circuit built around either sandbag carries, prowler pushes or farmers walks as conditioning. I can testify that these awkward locomotion exercises improve absolutely EVERYTHING. In this program, are you building up to a single carry of the stated distance, doing multiple carries on the clock, or putting the carry in your giant set format? Interested how you progress that over time, but guess I'll have to spend the dollar to find out!

I'm about halfway through the darkhorse program right now, but excited to give this a try when I'm done. I've been a police officer for about 15 years, and changing up my training to strongman a little over a year ago is one of the best things I've done for my job, especially when it comes to heavy carries and sandbag training.

No lie, this type of training and strongman training are truly the best things that any LEO could do for their health and personal safety. It’s not going to turn you into a judo master, but you definitely learn how to manipulate this kind of weight

Is that drawing giveaway still happening? I'd like to still purchase your program either way, but it doesn't hurt to have the benefit of having sandbags 😂😅

Just shut up and take my $25. Great looking program already bought my sandbag, just need the farmers carry and the bar and I’ll be set.

Would it be sensible to use Zercher Squat, Dumbbell Incline Press, Conventional DL and Z Press as Tier 1 exercises? I dont plan on competing and prefer these lifts for my athletic and aesthetic goals.

Gday Brian, thank you again for all the information. I just picked up the program and going through it now. I was just wondering what a step waiters walk with a barbell was? I’m gonna assume an overhead press while walking?

I was thinking the same thing. I know making adjustments isn't what Brain wants but I think that is a close enough variation. I dont have sandbags so my loaded carry day will be a zercher deadlift from the ground and set on pins 52in high as my replacement. Not perfect ,but close enough. Lol

I would say go for it if it’s all you got. If you can spring for a bag I think something in the mid range/your BW would be the best bang for the buck.

I am thankful for Brian’s content. I’ve been watching him for several years now. Use many of his cues to lift and may have copied him a time or two deadlifting lol. I have finally been in a position to run one of his programs almost true with equipment and such. Day one was awesome.

what an awesome program! I am dealing with some nasty tennis elbow issues right now but i would love to try this out when i get back to my old self again! might even buy the e-book (which would be the first time I ever bought a program from anyone!) your training principals and concepts and overall attitude have changed my life! i recently purchased 2 homes (my first), am planning to start a new business in a couple of months (my first) and am just soooo stepping outside of my comfort zone and i am here to tell ya a lot of that is due to the content you have presented here. when you step outside your comfort zone in the gym it's a GOOD thing and somewhere along the line you realize it can happen outside the gym as well and be a GOOD thing! In your own words: thank you so much for absolutely everything you do! Here's to doing something amazing with our lives, to working hard, and to being nice to each other! :D

How do you decide whether to do strict presses or jerks or conventional dead’s and snatch grip dead’s? Is it just preference? And what’s your recommended train/rest day schedule? 2-1-2-2?

When it comes to deciding which exercise to pick when given the option, i always go based on my level of fatigue. So if I want to do lower total poundage, I would pick an exercise that will give me the same stimulus but lowers the weight overall with a good level of intensity. Also, when it comes to picking your training and rest days. If you gave an open availability when it comes to training, do a Monday,Wednesday,Friday,Saturday or any days during the week that works for you. I personally never get to train the same days every week based on my family and work priorities. As long as I get my 4 days in per week, im good... even when I have to do 4 days in a row. I hope this helps, best of luck on Brian's new masterpiece! I'm personally loving it.

I was just trying to science the hell out of a carry intensive program after my performance in The Atlas Strongman Classic. Mine doesn't look nearly as good as the template you provided. I'm going to have to buy this e-book, because I clearly can't program like a sane person. Thanks for the breakdown, I look forward to running this!
