I'm 62 and neglected my abs for years even though I worked out. So I stopped eating sweets and started working on my abs . It took months but I had finally got my 6 pack back and I'm never going to lose it again. I lost 35 pounds and now I'm 5'10 170 . Talk about feeling better and being able to move a lot easier. And I never counted calories in my life.

In 8 months, I personally lost 30 kg of weight without losing any muscle and strength. Losing fat is incredibly easy if you know what your doing. When I lose fat, my diet is high protein, high fat and very low carb. This worked great for me. I do strength and lactic acid training, and I also do cardio 2x a week (1x HIIT and 1x steady state). If there is one advice I can give to anyone struggling to lose fat, then it is to AVOID CARBS! This keeps insulin low and improves insulin sensitivity. Eat high protein and healthy fats, especially MCTs. It is also important to include a high-carb day 1x a week to keep your energy and metabolism high and replenish depleted glycogen stores during a low carb diet. This is in my opinion the best and fastest way to lose fat without losing any muscle and strength.

GREAT VIDEO. Tracking is helpful tool, but in my experience, is too stressful because I would over think and waste so much time weighing and measuring. I follow basic guidelines and adjust nutrients based on my energy output. Whole foods as much as possible..AND... I quit drinking alcohol-- that was a game changer. Now I need to kick my chewing gum habit... it's a waste of carbs and calories. I function optimally on lean protein, cooked low glycemic veggies and small to moderate amounts of whole food carbs (berries, yams). I keep my carbs around my training schedule. Feels so intuitive now, and I love ,my food. Keep up the great work!

This approach literally got me to under 10% bf effortlessly. It shines when coupled with lots of physical labour and walking along the day. I was eating out everyday too. I think its even advantageous compared to counting calories in a way because when you eat more freely but with conscience its better for like, not underfeeding. Better feeding during a cut will spare some muscle mass. Cutting down to a lean physique really is not that much of a 7 head hydra. imo 10% or less and.. thats when you are gonna suffer. we are too accostumed to see bodybuilders dieting counting every grain of rice but they dont want to just look ripped. They want their whole skin to look vacuum seeled dry no water no fat no anything. And the suffering really is the most intense about 6 weeks out from a show and on. There is this bodybuilder from Brazil, Felipe Moraes, the best conditioned person I have ever seen, look him up. Untill 6 weeks out from the bodybuilding show he was eating tons of bread with cream cheese, hams, loin and lots of carbs. Basically cleaning up the physique is straightfoward, getting dickskin skin is the big boy game. Dont be afraid to trust informed intuition

4:08 Let's deconstruct this a little. The false assumption we make is that foods that are "sweet" have to have high calorie content. Reason: we humans (mammals?) react favourably to sweet flavours as evolution's way of making us seek energy dense carbs. Contrast with carnivore animals: tasting meat & blood probably gives them the same dopamine hit that sugar does to us. When you think of it like that, "something for nothing" makes a lot less sense as the "something" in this case isn't a hard rule, but a value we place on a flavour profile, specific to the human experience. I doubt that sweeteners like Monk Fruit extract and Stevia have any negative effect. They actually seem to be beneficial. That said, I think there is value in abstaining from sweet, if only just to not be weak to the taste, if that makes sense. Cuz the flip side is, let's say you decide to subvert sugar with artificial sweeteners but now the sweet taste still has control over you and you have to rely on buying those sweeteners which are usually more expensive than sugar just to get the feeling. Anyways I just wanted to say that cuz I think artificial sweeteners might be a big help for, say, obese populations without them suffering the negatives of calorie overconsumption.

It's actually amazing how auto-regulating your body can be if you have enough muscle mass to drive metabolism. Think part of the problem is (often) a lack of resistance training in people trying to lose body fat and (perhaps even more often) a complete lack of knowledge of just how much food (and quality of food matters) a person needs to consume just for maintenance. Western culture encourages overindulgence and poor food quality choices. Or maybe I should say corporate advertising encourages overindulgence and poor food quality choice.

Relished your easy, relaxed style in this informative video aligned with hard hitting results from simplicity and efficient time mgmt. Your "simple" eating plan echoes the observation of philosopher savant Ralph Waldo Emerson, "...common sense is genius dressed up in its working clothes." PS. In terms of energy plans for active lifestyles, seems hard to maximize performance in working out without carbs. Runners, cyclists etc need carbs it seems and for heightened performance during day. "Burn fat through the fuel of carbohydrates." Dr. Robert Haas, sports advisor to world class athletes Above all, maybe its just moderation, logic, and common sense are the keys as the early Greek philosophers highlighted. Well the situation with sugar is that we know it caused harm. The exact mechanism is glycation. You can damage a human cell reliably by putting it in contact with sugar. That, and the foods highest in sugar, or even starches also tend to be high in Deuterium, which absolutely does impair mitochondrial function. A mechanism by which a sugar alcohol can be more harmful than sugar hasn't been found, and there is really no solid ground for a theoretical mechanism. It's better to be on the safe side for sure... As long as it's actually the safe side. Eating sugar instead is absolutely not.

I was just saying that I would rather take the risk very sparingly on something that I already know is harmful for me than regularly take the risk with something that I don’t have all the information on yet

@@BrianAlsruheOfficial I suppose I am a little bit biased being that I've used the sugar alcohol for a few years now. Your logic checks out. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

I agree - I stopped all sugar substitutes- I put honey in my coffee every now and then but that’s it

@@WideAwakeHuman as long as you are not doing it all the time it's cool. Believe it or not HA1C only detects glycation from glucose, and only on the amino acids, not the lipids. Fructose is 10 times more glycation than glucose, and we are completely blind to it.

Not eating out is a big one for me, can be pretty difficult as I travel a lot for work. Usually end up having a protein shake and some fruit for lunch to try offset whatever dinner might be.

I lived on the road for about a decade with my old job and I lived off protein shakes, fish oil and peanut butter

Went ya got bills, business and family the best thing is go by the mirror and common sense 😂🤷🏾♂️ ya workout more and eat less if your tryna cut and if your tryna bulk eat more an add a little more carbs, but don’t over do it cause your tryna dirty bulk cause it’ll take longer to cut. Lastly the only thing I personally believe that is basically religious for me drinking water and staying away from sugary drinks .
