It's not infectious to humans. Or at the very least it doesn't cause any sort of symptoms in humans. An animal handler who worked with the macaques that the disease was found in ended up getting cut while performing a necropsy, but never got sick. Since then, people have ended up exposed via animals but no one has ever had any symptoms despite the exposure.

I didn't realize that Swine Flu was so deadly. I had gotten it when I was 9, but it wasn't severe. It felt like a normal flu to me. I just remember waking up vomiting in the middle of the night, and my mom putting me in the bath. It felt like she was putting me in freezing water, but she assured me that it was warm. I believe my temp was over 104 or 105 F. Went to the pediatrician in the morning, and she came back with a mask on. That was scary to me. I was so cold that entire week. I couldn't get warm regardless of how many blankets I had. I couldn't keep much of anything down, and my body hurt. I remember my brother's friend coming over when I was starting to get better and was no longer contagious. I watched with envy as they played outside. Luckily, this was a few months before I had developed Asthma. It would've been so much worse. I'm very thankful to my mom. Learning that it was deadly and killed so many people is crazy. I'm surprised my weak kid body handled it, even though it was mild compared to what others dealt with.

I first heard of SARS last from this lady on YT telling the story of one of the first victims. It was a kpop idol who had a successful concert with his group in China. When he woke up the next day he felt really sick but dismissed it as a flu,as time went by he started feeling worse and he couldn't breathe properly, he told his bandmates that he was going to the hospital and they kinda made fun of him for wanting to go to hospital for flu( friendly kind of fun I assume) he went anyway and when he got there his health deteriorated, his respiratory system was failing and doctors didnt know why, eventually he was put on life support but he eventually passed away. He got sick when nobody knew about the virus

If you mean what it is, its a prion. A prion is a nonviral, noncelluar disease that stems from misfolded protiens. So, protiens are these really big molecules, and they need to curl and bend in specific ways that tell the brain to do certain things. Like a little peice of code, but prions are folded in weird ways that cause dysregulation in the brain. They spread because they cause other protiens to fold that way, it can cause brain tissue loss, immune system failiures, mineral imbalance and loads of other things. In humans, mcd is called crudzfeldt jakobs disease, and spreads from contaminated meat. Meat gets contaminated when small amounts of brain tissue and spinal tissue get in the meat, and unlike other diseases. Prions like this cannot be killed by being burnt off. So it has an insanly high fatality rate (either 100% or very very close to that)

I remember having the swine flu back in the early 2010. For me, it was really just a bad case of fever that kept me in bed for 2 days straight, shivering constantly and sweating like a pig (pun intended), but after that... nothing really. It was bad, but kinda short lived. I also had Corona couple months ago and comparing the two... yeah, I'd say the 'rona felt way worse. Same thing where I was shivering and sweating like crazy, though this time I felt like I was dying from the high fever and even after it passed, I lost my sense of smell and taste for a month and had a really terrible cough for the next couple weeks.

So once when I was 9, my friend Jessica said she had seen this thing about a guy who lived near the school. She said that it might be a danger to the school. Now, we were young so we didn't know what to believe. Elliot, Clare, and I all told Jessica that it was probably just someone who we don't know. Jessica said once her old friend went around the property and went home early. The rest of the year she wasn't there. Well I told Jessica maybe it was that she had to move. Jessica agreed.
