I think Emma’s hang up was that Emma was that baby once. An unwanted teen pregnancy. So I think she took it personally. Like she felt Manny’s decision was a questioning on her value as a human. If that makes sense. That’s what I’ve always took it as anyways.

What i love about degrassi is how it was really normal. They lived in normal homes, dressed in regular clothes and dealt with rl issues not being over the top with it. No living in mansions, wearing gucci or glam life. Majority of people live normal and do normal activities,degrassi the earlier seasons nothing beats it

This is super nit picky but the Emma’s dad arc makes no sense why Emma would think he was a doctor. She met him when she was 3, and her mom was pregnant at 16… so her dad would probably have been 19-22 years old… not nearly old enough to be a doctor

I thought it was too bad they didn't invest in the Jt/Manny relationship and dropping it like a hot potato after all that build up, it kind of made no sense. I always found them to be cute and it felt like there would be at least one couple from our main quartet. Alas, they thought keeping Manny a "messy homewrecker" and Liberty's obsession being realized was more important... yeah, typical Degrassi. Ps. Emma's character is so unlikeable and entirely unbelievable. She's an "environmentalist conservative" ok yeah right... her speech about feeling ok about judging people for abortion except if she knows them was just a big yuck. Manny didn't need to thank her.

I never understood Emma’s reasoning that Shane (her dad) was a doctor. Her parents were what 13-14 when she was born & the last time she saw him she was 2-3 so that made her parents 16….girl you knew your parents were teenagers how the hell was he a “successful doctor”. I understood maybe as a toddler/little girl why that memory may have made sense but she’s a character who is about logic pretty much & she still believed that he was a doctor.

The more I watch degrassi’s early seasons the more I see how bad of a person Craig is, and how many people just kinda let it slide. People miss how much Craig doesn’t change his ways he’s always a cheater, a liar, and an abuser. But he gets to go on and make records and never truly gets held accountable for what he’s done. He has a sad story and a mental illness but that doesn’t excuse a lot of what he has done and will do
