It still boggles my mind that Pocahontas and the lion king were not only in production at the same time, but the studios “a team“ was working on Pocahontas while the “b team“ was working on the lion king. After all these years it’s clear which film is superior, and yet I think shlaff nailed it on the head when he said that Pocahontas s crew were so wrapped up in the Oscar bait that they lost sight of what they were really doing.

Good thing I’m not the only one who thinks Pocahontas (1995) is overrated, even when compared to the highly praised The Lion King (1994) and any other Disney Renaissance film because they are beloved for just working in every way from their revolutionary (or just incredible in general) visuals to their strong and fun characters (yes, even The Rescuers Down Under). If that movie is the result of *the crew losing sight of what they were really doing*, then am glad they did. Yes they came up massive flaws, historical inaccuracies and a boat-load of reasons for people to forget it but for my 2 cents Pocahontas on its own has every right to escape oblivion to this day. Yes its not Atlantis or Prince of Egypt: The animated movie of all time but the animation, music and songs are more than enough to cancel its snore-fest status. Bottom line, the Colors are flawed but they are also vibrant ^_^

Back during production The Lion King seemed to be taking more risks, with it being a film in which the animals aren't anthropomorphic. Luckily the team that was put on it were very passionate about the movie, and wanted to take risks with it, thanks to the low expectations, and those risks paid of. Sadly never got to see it in theater (the movie was already 9 years old when I was born, I missed the rerelease, and the 2019 remake doesn't count), but as soon as I get the chance, I'll go for it. By far my favorite animated movie, and generally one of my favorite movies too.

One of my favorite parts of my first viewing of Princess and the Frog was when Charlotte REALLY WAS Tiana's best friend. I was SO SURE she was going to turn into an antagonist, and just the fact that she was a thousand percent in Tiana's corner at the climax of the movie was wonderful to see. "All my life, I read about true love and fairy tales and... Tia, _you found it!!_ I'll kiss him for you, honey, no marriage required!" through the happy tears _gets me every time._

The thing I love about Mother Gothel from Tangled is she isn't only evil for the sake of being evil, she's evil because she wants something Rapunzel has and will go to any length to keep it. Mother Gothel is one of the scariest villains to me because of how real she is, she gaslights Rapunzel constantly and I like that even when Rapunzel is out of the tower and free of her "mother" she still feels massive guilt due to this. Its a great way to build both characters that I haven't really seen with another Disney movie.

Exactly! It’s so heartbreaking to think that Rapunzel genuinely loved Mother Gothel, because she’s believed she’s her mother for her entire life. Gothel is written in such a way where you completely understand why rapunzel is so hesitant to leave the castle, it’s not that she is too scared of her evilness, it’s that she genuinely respects Gothel and doesn’t want to disobey her wishes. Gothel isn’t the best villain on her own, sure, but she works GREAT and making you feel so compassionate towards Rapunzel. The last scene where Gothel falls to her death and Rapunzel reaches out for her, you see the pain of rapunzel losing the woman who was her mother her entire life, whilst also losing her greatest enemy…. It’s like…… Rapunzel is the most genuinely kind and wonderful princess at her core even though she was raised by a monster. I love Tamgled so much and I’m so bad at writing I wish I could express my thoughts on it better

1:09:21 So, fun fact. Chief was originally supposed to die after being hit by a train. A lot of the animators and writers REALLY pushed for Chief's death, to properly motivate Copper's and the hunter's quest for revenge against Tod. But ultimately, the directors at Disney refused to kill off a major character in a kids film. Which was the straw that broke the camel's back and led to a bunch of Disney animators, including Don Bluth, to walk out and form their own studio. Which as you know, eventually led to Don Bluth's team's movies to out competing Disney in the box office. Which led to Disney kicking it up a notch and launching the Disney Renaissance. All because Disney wouldn't let anyone die in Fox and the Hound.

On another note, I find it very funny that Schaff listed all the characters he thought would die when in fact in the original novel "Fox and the Hound" nearly all the characters he listed die. Chief is killed when Tod tricks him onto a train track and gets run over. Tod's mates and offspring are killed again and again by Copper and the Hunter out of vengeance. Tod eventually dies of exhaustion in a final chase between him and Copper, and Copper himself in his old tired age is euthanized by the hunter.

The thing with The Fox and the Hound portraying the relationship going too fast is actually quite genius in my opinion, children are very innocent and consider any kid that likes to spend time with them their friend, and are actually quite easily attached to them. Although the movie is one of my favorites because of how realistic and "not afraid to cross boundaries with realism" it is, I think that the only problem with it is Todd's girlfriend. It would have been way more impactful if it had only been him being chased at by Copper and it would honestly be one of the best disney movies objectively if it had happened like that.

Yeah, it's mostly due to the book it's based off, where Todd's mates and kits are all hunted down whenever he gets them even as he outruns the hunter and dogs. Obviously they didn't go down that darker route, but him having a mate was a part of the story.

As a brazilian I have to agree with other in the comments that The The Three Caballeros and Saludo Amigos are very well received here and José Carioca is a beloved character. As a History student I would like to point it out that these movies are reasonably respectful with the cultures they portray because they were not made only to capitalize on a distorted view of these cultures by the American public, these two movies are part of a diplomatic effort by the US foreign affairs to create friendly ties with its still neutral neighbors during World War II: the good neighbor policy. Walt Disney himself traveled to several of the locations depicted in the films with his team of artists, including Rio de Janeiro, the capital of Brazil at the time.

Character arc of Anastasia is the finest in Cinderalla 3. As a guy, i loved the movie entirely. It showed Anastasia as the true protagonist of the story than being a one-sided side character. She learned how to become a kinder person when meeting the king, and learned to appreciate Cinderella even though they are not that close as step-sisters.

As a Mexican person I can say that the interruption in the middle of the movie to celebrate the birth of Jesus is a great cultural reference to a Christmas tradition we have where we make a play out of any story and add the birth of Jesus Christ on it. We call it “Pastorela”.

Fun fact: One neat little detail about Beauty and the Beast I have just noticed. In the first half of the movie the Beast was seen moving around the castle on all fours indicating his beastly nature, but he is eventually bipedal throughout the second half of the movie which shows that he is beginning to act and feel more human again because of Belle.

The longer it took Hercules to show up the happier I got. Seriously I can’t put into words what that movie does to me. It came out when I was 6 and I was TRANSFIXED. The anachronistic whimsical storytelling paired with the swirly saturated art style and powerful gospel music was pure magic. The voice acting was perfect. I was in love with Meg but also wanted to be her, and here we are now 25 years later and that’s still the case. Every song is an absolute bop and I will never tire of listening. And your suggestion of Bob Odenkirk taking Woods’ place is genius, he would absolutely kill it.

Fun fact: Akira Toriyama credits 101 Dalmatians as what inspired him to start drawing as a child. It's funny to think that Dragon Ball might not exist without it.

But wait, it gets even better. One animater and character designer for 101 Dalmations is Iwao Takamoto. While his name isn't too familar, he was a huge contribution to animation in the 1960s, especally within Hanna Barbara. After leaving an internment camp after WW2 (He was japanese american), Takamoto took his lessons about art from the internment camps, made a portfollio and was hired by Disney Studios to animate and design some little known films you might know... Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan and 101 Dalmations. and that's not all. He also designed most of the characters in Hanna Barbara after leaving Disney to work there - Namely Scooby Doo. So not only was he one of the biggest contributers to the animation industry in the 20th century, he also helped inspire Dragon Ball. Takamoto honestly needs more credit, he did so much work for the animation industry and doesn't even scratch the surface of how much Asian people influenced the film industry as we know it.

First time I watched encanto, I thought it was cool but it didn’t really stick with me. And then one night, was laying down in my living room, I decided to rewatch it out of bordem. I ended up paying attention the entire time and bawling my eyes out at the end. If you actually connect with and understand the story, it makes the whole experience 10x more magnificent. It's such a genuine shame that Tarzan could have been a perfect disney movie, but what you said definitely impacted it from being a perfect disney movie. I am still so glad you put it on such a high place, because it honestly deserves it. It might be an unpopular opinion, but one of my favorite moments in Disney animation is when Tarzan and Jane meet each other on the tree, he takes her glove off and both feel their hands. It's honestly so beautiful because not only is it genuinely romantic, Tarzan is also realizing "There are species like me, I am not alone" and Jane is also realising "He is someone just like me."

I actually love that Mulan stops singing half way through. Because once they actually see the remains of a ruined city, they realize that what they’re fighting for has already been taken from them. And the message that leaves is way too good to miss. If anything, I feel as though Mulan is also Disney’s best “anti-war” film to date. It truly makes war seem like a real and horrifying thing.

As a Brazilian I can assure that a lot of Brazilians really, really like José Carioca as he captures Brazilian people so well and plus his voice actor José Oliveira was an actual Brazilian, he did his voice in English and Portuguese so José doesn't the spanish accent he has in the modern stuff he shows up

Story Time! When I was younger, I was absolutely in love with Wreck-It Ralph. I cried every time at the heartbreaking scene of betrayal, loved the chemistry between Ralph and Vanellope, and always laughed at the scene where Ralph is like, "... I didn't see anything, nuh-uh," when he stole a cherry. (My sister and I still sing the SugarRush theme song at each other) Because of my love of the movie, I always watched it from the very beginning to the very end. Because of this, I saw the glitching Ralph going to the Disney logo. Every time I saw it, I would go to my mom, "See, it's gonna get a sequel! I know it will!" (She didn't believe me, but she humored me) I wish I was wrong, I really do. I was so excited when I heard about it that even though I was ten years older, I still begged my mom let me watch it. I still remember hearing my heart break like glass on how they ruined my most prized movie. With how Ralph was treated as a total idiot and disgustingly clingy with Vanellope, how Vanellope was so willing to ruin the game she spent so long trying to participate in for a little more fun, the way the story just felt wrong. My hatred for that movie is unmatched. I even wrote my own adaptation of the sequel I thought Wreck-It Ralph deserved. :(

It's not the boring conventional "all the disney renaissance movies are at the top because of course!" and there are some surprising twists and turns that are very twisty. All in all, a good video, I respect doing it all in one go.....Oh. And one more thing. FANTASIA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST DISNEY MOVIE EVER MADE AND I WILL FCKING DIE ON THAT HILL. Sorcerer's Apprentice really helped me when I was in college, suffering from severe depression, as did Nightmare Before Christmas, and so those movies will always hold a special place in my heart. They both made me realize that I wanted to study film and learn everything about the craft. Nightmare Before Christmas is a technological MARVEL, and Fantasia helped bring Mickey back to the forefront. I love Mickey. He's one of my favorite Disney characters, he's kind, and generous, but has moments where he gets angry, pissed off, scared, he's a much more complex character than people realize. I'm tired of people just associating him as this evil corporate mascot. Absolutely not. There's a reason why he's a king in Kingdom Hearts. And it's not just because he's popular. He has a noble heart, a kind heart, the heart that makes someone a good ruler. One that people would look up to and respect. Mickey in Kingdom Hearts is Mickey at his peak. Period.

Same!! It was one of my all-time favorites because it dealt with home turf. Even now it still brings a smile to my face whenever I watch it because it holds such a dear place in my heart. Would definitely recommend a rewatch; it may not be the best 2000’s Disney movie but it’s still charming in its own right - and the scenes with Koda learning about his mother’s death is still emotional.

Fox & the Hound: The older hound was actually *supposed* to die in the original story. A large number of the staff wanted the character to die off, as to raise the stakes and create a proper motivation for the rift between Copper and Todd. Disney refused to have a named character die on screen, though, as it didn't fit the 'values' they were promoting at the time. This was, ultimately, the reason Don Bluth left Disney to do his own thing.

There’s no way. Jesus. I grew up watching Lilo and Stitch and yeah I might have a bias for it. But I’m so glad I am not alone with my strong love for it. She’s a literally a child, so she’s bound to be childish and have her “bratty” moments. But she’s incredibly mature and intelligent and you can see that clearly by how Nani reacts. The dramatic moments in this movie still stands strong in my eyes even to this days. She just lost both of her key figures in her life, her parents. So she will act out, cause mischiefs and be late to her classes because she’s trying to cope, and take photos because she wants to remember the good times like she did with her parents. And it was essential for Stitch’s arc. Some people need to realise if they don’t get it, if they can’t point out what is it that doesn’t work for them, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad movie.

I think the part that makes me so mad at Enchanto, is how they marketed Isabella. In the end, they ignored her entire arc of the perfect girl but in all the merchandise, that's the girl we see. We don't see the girl who found her flaws and accepted it, the girl who wants to be herself for herself. It's her pink dress that stood out and not her creative darker dress, after her arc. I think this has always been an issue with Disney but one of the most recent examples is this.

I actually consider Alice to be one of the best Disney protagonists before the Renaissance era. I don't know if I've said this on another video of yours already, but Dinosaur deserves to be bottom of the list for another reason you didn't mention: its failure at the box office caused Disney to panic and slash the budget for Atlantis. The second act was gutted and the ending had to be completely rewritten, because it was going to have a much bigger final battle AND the revelation that the Crystal was an alien entity that crash landed on Earth millenia ago and was discovered by the Atlanteans. It was a miracle that what we got was as good as it ended up being. Either way you are not alone and I stand with you in defense of Atlantis; it's a fantastic movie, personally my favorite, and it was way ahead of its time.

I think what modern audiences can miss with Bambi's mum is how films were shown back in the day. When Bambi came out, cinemas still had intermissions where the film just stops for a time so viewers can stand up for a bit and staff can sell items like ice cream. In Bambi's case, the intermission is right after the mum dies. This allows the event to sink in more while also makeing the spring sequence less jarring as it works as the opening to a new act in the story. My dad actually saw Bambi in the cinema as a young kid, and I remember him telling me that that scene was so shocking and upsetting that he spent the whole intermission crying into the ice cream his mum bought for him. That was how impactful that scene was.

Chicken little is trash but dinosaur is great. Aladar imo is paragon of a great leader. Super smart, doesnt give up, considerate, brave. Theres also Lots of tension cuz theyre always on the run from predators, and you never know if theyll reach their destination. At the end, Against all the odds, with aladar even feeling beat at the end, we got the side characters (ima) to finally help out our main character. Often times movies would have sucky sidecharacters, or the main character doing everything, which is boring. At the end, aladar got the gril and we got a happy ending. Well deserved. So yes, its a fun and rewatchable movie. I rank it 9/10, only cuz u have other legendary movies finding nemo, toy story, etc

Fun fact: The black cauldron was originally rated R, Tim berton worked on it and wanted to keep it as R but disney didn’t want to. They had to remove 15 minutes from the movie to get it down to PG

Jeffrey Katzenberg was the one who insisted on cutting 15 minutes from the final film because he thought the sequences were too dark for a kids film. It's the first animated film in history to have deleted scenes instead of scenes that were considered, but never added, like the Siamese cats reappearing in Lady and the Tramp after the climax and being shocked at what happened to the baby.

Me being Latino and having studied racism in college in my sociology degree, we talked about The Three Caballeros, it was actually made for Latin propaganda because during WW2 the US government told Hollywood to stop being mean to Latin characters to gain Mexican support for the war so during that time frame in Hollywood Latin leads rose and less Latin racism was happening in Hollywood so The Three Caballeros actually does a good job for the Mexican side relating to the job. Idk about the Brazilian one.

Cinderella is a movie that's very close to my heart. I related to her a lot, since I grew up in a similar situation. Even though she was treated like shit by her family, she always remained optimistic and hopeful that better days would come for her. She was patient, kind, loving, and compassionate - all qualities I wanted to embody. She never let her situation keep her down. She never stopped believing in finding true love and happiness. I really love her as a character. I'm so happy to see more appreciation for Sleeping Beauty. It's one of my favorite Disney princess movies. I think the person who sang Aurora's parts has the most beautiful voice. Her singing really showcases Fauna's gift of song that was bestowed upon Aurora as a baby. The scenery in the movie is absolutely stunning. I love the classic Disney movies because of how everything has that hand drawn/painted look, which is something I miss terribly in modern day movies. But, I also just truly miss 2D animated movies. I feel like they had more heart. The way they were drawn just feels like a true labor of love to me. I'm also thankful to see the appreciation for Fantasia. I think it's a criminally underrated film. It was more about appreciating music and all of the places that music can take your imagination. I like the concept of the music being interpreted by the arists/animators based on what the music made them feel while they were listening to it. I have SO many things to say about ALL of the movies in this list, but I'd end up with a comment as long as this video. 😹

I personally think that the og Cinderella portrayed true love really well, especially for the time it came out. Cinderella and the Prince spend hours together just enjoying each other's company not having to speak to each other. Cinderella completely forgot why she was there in the first place, just having fun with some random guy not even realizing he was the prince. The Prince probably thought she was only spending time with him because he was the prince and was surprised when she didn't even know who he was. They both fell in love with each other without having to say a word and somehow that's better than most modern Disney love stories.

I don't understand why people think they didn't conversate in the first place. Like you think they just sat there dancing and lovingly looking into each others eyes for an hour? I find them honestly adorable. Cinderella was just happy to find someone who didn't treat her awfully, and the Prince was probably just happy that someone was spending time with him for him instead of doing so because he's a prince. I don't think it takes much to simply infer on what happened and why they fell in love, but maybe I'm just being too harsh.

About the whole "Dolores didn't tell anyone about Bruno in the walls" thing, she did, they just didn't believe her. At the end of the movie, she has a line to Camillo where she says, "see? I told you I heard him." She TOLD Camillo Bruno was in the walls. He didn't believe her. We know she tried to tell Mirabel too, in her section of the song in "We Don't Talk About Bruno." And also, we know how Alma was. If someone did something she didn't like, she'd force them to stop immediately. So it's possible that Dolores tried to tell Alma about Bruno being in the walls but Alma didn't believe her and Dolores eventually gave up trying to tell people about Bruno for a while So yeah, she did tell people, they just didn't listen

Which is a consistent thing throughout the movie for Dolores. The only people who listen to her are the ones asking for some tip off or piece of information. It's not until the ending where others seem to pay actual attention to her. Despite being the eldest on Pepa's side, she very much comes across as in the same situation as Luisa as a under-attended middle child which would make sense with Isabella so close in age.

Dolores knew he was in the walls, but that doesn't mean she knew how he got in there. Thus, couldn't really show them she was telling the truth. And she was only 11? When he "left". They probably just waved her off and then forbade her from bringing it up. "We don't talk about Bruno." After a few times of mentioning it and being told off, you'd stop talking about it too. I really disagree that its a plot hole, espeically when Dolores is the only one in the song that is empathetic and doesn't put any blame on him for his prophecies.

It's not about the grandiose performance and how well someone can sing; It's the about the intense emotion and feeling what's happening during the song. That's what makes musicals truly amazing. Great news! The Little Mermaid was inducted into the National Film Registry yesterday. So it’s definitely a testament to how impactful it is in both Disney history and animation history as it was the one that brought forth Disney’s Renaissance Era and brought a Broadway-style to its score and songs which later Disney films and even Disney copycats like The Swan Princess, Thumbelina, Anastasia and Quest for Camelot would imitate. @@OcioCamaraMx You just said "the most important milestones on 2D animation" and to be fair it's not a stretch to assume that somebody thought all the major milestones were hit by Walt Disney Animation Studios. I'm not familiar with Klaus, but looking at the trailer, it doesn't really look like hand-drawn 3D or anything, it just looks like computer-animated 2D with soft shading and no outlines. I think most animators still use cel-style shading and outlines for 2D (and often 3D, which is done in probably a majority of both western "2D" animations and eastern/anime at this point, but some anime are certainly entirely done that way, eg the infamous 2016 Berserk anime) regardless of whether it's hand-drawn or CG, because it gives the hand-drawn (and therefore more "authentic") aesthetic. I can't actually think of an anime off the top of my head that heavily uses soft shading like that, but it's nothing revolutionary; It's a matter of a digital artist using a soft brush instead of a hard brush but otherwise doing the exact same thing.

It pains me to see Cinderella so low, down with Home on the Range and Raya. While I much appreciate your point about the mice, even as an adult there's a lot I enjoy about Cinderella, as a character and her story. Like the other two classic princesses, we don't get to learn enough about her, but we do learn that she actually works really hard, she lectures her cat and dog like she's their parent, and she rightly chooses her own happiness over the only relatives she's ever known. For anybody who's felt trapped, wishing someone would magically appear and show them the way out, Cinderella is that simple, hopeful story.

Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora were meant to represent the "I dream/wish" era, while the later female Disney princesses or leads were the "I want". I feel like this is something that nobody talks about enough. Because when everyone is little, they always would dream or wish for something, but when your older, you say "I want...", because say dream or wish is something in a "fairy tale".

Bambi is also too low. You don't need a "backstory" to be sad when Bambi's mom is killed and a little fawn is crying for its mother. You just need to be a decent and logically thinking human being with empathy. Like you need some elaborate backstory behind the life of a deer just to satisfy your 5 second attention span so you can feel bad when a tragedy affects its life... It's the same reason people cry at the end of Ol' Yeller or The Yearling. Behind it all too, Bambi is a coming of age story, IMO better told than even some parts of Pinocchio. He has to learn to take care of himself and learn how to treat others well, to become a well adjusted adult with major responsibilities in life. It was also based on a novel for adults, so the subject matter would equally be suited for other age groups the way Fantasia was supposed to. Disney Movies don't have to all be for just kids, and Bambi is a masterpiece in dealing with such a complex topics as death and adulthood. Man IS one of the worst Disney villains, there's no repercussion for our actions, and we are capable of making a movie like Bambi or being the person who sets the forest on fire.

@@matthewcole4753 , I mean it would have been nice to have a seen similar to what they tried to do with the beginning of Bambi 2 where once Bambi gets taken in by the Great Prince asks, “She’s never coming back is she?” and the Prince gives a look that says no. Or at least have a minute of Bambi moping around mourning for her, but maybe his pals or Friend Owl, let’s him know that it’s just the way of life. The Lion King suffered from this problem as well, as we don’t see Simba doing the same as well. I think the closest that did this properly in the movie was The Land Before Time , with how Littlefoot lost his mother.

@@osmanyousif7849 Bambi also was made during WW2, so death wasn't exactly handled the same as it would be today, it was accepted as a reality and people moved on faster. Was is the best way to deal with grief? Definitely not. But it's not an unrealistic concept, and some cultures still perceive death in this manner. Bambi grew up to become the buck that his mother would have wanted him to, and that's as much how people went through life and accepted death as an unchangeable reality. Bambi cries pretty hard when his mother dies, and Bambi's dad does break the natural order to console his son and ensure he has the skills to be an adult, all the while revealing he is his father. The father doesn't abandon Bambi, and Bambi has his other friends who are supportive as well. I will not tolerate however that Bambi is placed behind Dumbo or the Emperor's New Groove. However, I'm a ride or die Classic Disney Fan so my ranking would be completely different from this anyway, although my ranking would also place Alice in Wonderland highest amongst all the classics, because it captures the whimsy and fantasy closest to any of the stories ever told by Disney, remaining the closest to the book. (Tim Burton couldn't hold a candle to it.)

I wouldn't call the movie boring. It might not be high-stakes and it's definitely a slow burn, but the characters are solid and the romance is excellent (I'm not sure where Schaff is coming from when he says that he didn't like the romance). Not every movie needs a clear three-act structure; sometimes, it's nice to see a movie where the characters just go about their lives. Also, the rat DOES appear earlier in the film. Schaff is obviously entitled to his opinion, but I feel as if he's being way too harsh on the movie.

@@talhahhussain5603 i completely agree! i don’t find the movie boring at all, but that’s usually the complaint people make when criticizing this movie. and yeah i didn’t understand his complaint over the romance considering that was the overarching theme of the movie; their romance makes sense to me. i’ve always considered this a classic walt disney film. the character designs are great, the songs are lovely and the ending ties everything up nicely. this is a movie that’s always resonated with me so it was hard to hear his lack of appreciation for it but can’t win them all i guess!

The animation in that film is so beautiful. Disney at that time was showing off their animation and new tech really instead of focusing on the plot of the film. Same with sleeping beauty. But those films are gorgeous and are high rank imp

About "The Three Caballeros", it's a pretty charming film when it gets to the part about the culture. I can't say about the part where they talk about Mexico, but the part about Brazil is very charming and heartwarming. And the music that Zé Carioca sings and his dubbing in our language (Portuguese) is enough to carry most of the film. So, to answer your question, it's not offensive but it doesn't go too deep either. But just because the film focuses on a region of Brazil that isn't just "São Paulo" and "Rio de Janeiro", it's very good to see. And here in Brazil, the name of the film is "Você já foi à Bahia? (Have you ever been to Bahia?)" and that makes me laugh a lot, since they don't stay that long in Bahia.

It's not great, but I don't think it was made to be, and it's understandable that some don't like it. Still, as a brazilian myself (that was not born in either SP or RJ) I can't help but see charm in it! Besides, I totally agree with you :D Also! I can't lie, it's heart warming to see Brazil represented in media, especially when it's not common (I know there are countries that are even less represented and I definitely hope that changes! It's sweet seing and learning about other cultures) besides- who doesn't like (accidental) poly birds

The Three Caballeros is accurate to the cultures it portrays in context. It was made in the 40s during the war. It was borderline educational about central and South America at the time. It was made as a sort of way to say, “Hey, Mexico and all those other countries south of us, can we be cool? There’s there a war on and we wanna be friends.” It was over the top but pretty accurate for the time. But it was super random and the last 10 minutes was bananas!
