Just in case you’re wondering in the United States it’s is illegal to booby trap your property in a way that causes bodily harm. You can in theory be arrested for first degree murder if your trap kills an intruder. Having the trap implies that you knowingly wished to kill or injure someone which can be considered “premeditated murder.”
