I’ve mentioned a lot on this channel that I was studying Film Studies at school for one of my A-Levels. I mentioned this because I figured that you guys might find it interesting to hear my unique perspectives on certain films. However, this unique perspective eventually inspired me to create a video ranking all 11 films which I had to look into and write about in my film studies class. This video will allow me to talk in depth about the films I had to think about for the past two years and it works as a fun little time capsule of my time studying this fun subject (and if anyone from my class is watching, I hope you massively enjoyed this as well). This video will feature analysis of the films themselves as well as stories related to my experience of studying them and any facts I learnt about the films. It’s been a long time since I uploaded a completed, full-length video but hopefully this will be enough to satisfy you. A wonderfully meaty ranking which somehow beat the length of my Puss in Boots Retrospective (and the Best Animated Feature nominees ranking will be even longer). The films that will be covered in this video are… Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) Casablanca (1942) Vivre sa Vie (1962) Bonnie and Clyde (1967) Sweet Sixteen (2002) Pan’s Labyrinth (2006) Fish Tank (2009) Inception (2010) Stories we Tell (2012) Wild Tales (2014) Captain Fantastic (2016) TIMECODES (use these to skip a segment if you want to avoid spoilers as I WILL be going in depth and WILL spoil all the films): Intro: 0:00 Number 11: 4:14 Number 10: 20:22 Number 9: 30:22 Number 8: 40:49 Number 7: 54:00 Number 6: 1:04:45 Number 5: 1:14:03 Number 4: 1:25:58 Number 3: 1:36:40 Number 2: 1:48:53 Number 1: 1:54:32 Outro: 2:09:35

Wow this was an absolutely phenomenal video! I really liked hearing your opinion on each of the films here, and I also enjoyed the detailed reviews of them as well. I can tell that there was a lot of effort put into this video, and all of it really paid off, because this is fantastic! Along with that, I actually haven't watched a few of the films that were ranked, and I definitely want to give them a watch in the future. I think you talking about them made me even more curious and interested in watching them too. Well overall this is superb! ❤

22:05 Have you heard of Senna from 2010? That's also a documentary, but there are no "talking head" interviews, it's assembled almost entirely from existing archive footage with occasional voice-over, and there's so much footage available of the events being portrayed that they were able to structure it like a more traditional drama. I haven't seen it in a while, but it seems like a documentary that more closely resembles what you say you're looking for in a movie. Great video by the way, kind of makes me want to take a film class at some point.

I think there’s a lot of Documentaries which are kind of like that style, I just haven’t yet seen them. One of my friends from another school studied ‘Amy’ for their Documentary film and that seems quite similar to Senna as it is also structured using archive footage as if it were a drama. I do need to watch more documentaries at some point Anyway, thank you for watching the video 😁 Film classes are enjoyable but I definitely prefer doing the more practical stuff (which I plan to do for university) as sometimes the exam questions are a little bit annoying to deal with

@@JAProductions494 Amy has the same director as Senna, actually. I haven't seen Amy yet though.
