I think another reason why Volume 1 feels so weak is because they feel less like episodes and more like shorts for an already existing show. I don't know how to explain it but it just gives off that energy

That’s exactly what energy it gives lol. I also have a sneaking suspicion that these were put into production before the doll line/new ghoul at school officially launched so the team didn’t actually *know* how big MH was going to become and therefore didn’t think they *needed* to put much thought in it

Probably because Volume 1 Webisodes are literally half the time of all the others from Volume 2 and onward. When I'm rewatching the Webisodes I honestly skip Volume 1 most times... Lol

I still don't like Nefera being whitewashed in the webisodes. That didn't sit right with me when I first saw her intro webisode.

Volume 2 was iconic the storyline made me believe high school was all about drama, a cool group of friends and pretty lockers.

Also toraleis backstory was confirmed to be canon by sanders-the dairies did mention her parents but sanders stated that was an error, she is an orphan & lives in monster high

As a Frankie Stein fan, I was really disappointed that as time went on, she became less prominent, like an extra in the show she had originally starred in.

Yay, glad to see another upload from you. Personally my fave is two, but that's just because I'm actually obsessed with Jackson and Holt. Also Cleo's ears being visible later on is kinda cursed.

13:26 Not only that, but also the fact, Frankie is already in the school aaand in the fearleading squad, even though Toralei was there before and with much different ghouls in the original team. My tought was, that this scene was just pre-recorded by Spectra and she didn't really bother with the details, so she just asked her friends to be in the recording. 😊😅

When I learn that the web series was a web series in 2013 when I was 19 I was FLABBERGASTED It aired on CN 2010-2015 in turkey

volume one holds a lot of nostalgia for me but i honestly get where you are coming from. some things i missed from V1 was the sound effects like hearing the ghouls' heels stomp or Cleo's jewelry move. it was engaging to hear idk. the thing i miss the most though was Draculaura's voice and some of her drier personality. in V1 her voice was deeper, which i liked and imo it suited her more. i also liked her dry delivery in some scenes she used to have great comedic timing.

This is the first time i seen a critique towerds g1 being episodic that isnt “theres no overarching story like in g3!! Bad!!” Tons of rlly good shows r episodic like courage the cowardly dog and tons of bad shows that are serialized like star vs-you dont need one continues story to create a good show That aside i do agree rlly important character traits r constantly condricated , i get the whole joke w frankie is her being 15 days old but still

I love your videos! You should make a video ranking the monster high characters to their personality traits there flaws and character designs. It sucks because there’s so many amazing character designs but they don’t have a personality on the other hand there’s amazing character designs with actual personality I would love to hear your input! Also I never knew there was a monster high anime like what?!?!

I love your series! Please keep making them! and volume 4 is tied with 2 as my favorites. If you want maybe do a clothing/hair ranking or maybe a ranking on the dolls themselves? omg what about commercials? lol I love MH so any content you'd do I would watch

Omg I love this so much!! This is such a great video and idea! Your list is very strong! I think for me the ranking would probably be; 6. Volume 1- Because of similar reasonings. It lowkey feels non canon due to many things getting retconned. 5. Volume 6 - I love how it ended with Mr. Rotter finally giving A's when they brought him to tears but yes, it suffered from 'Buy The Doll Syndrome' plus with how short it is... Yeah... 4. Volume 4 - For me, I did not like the Jane Boolittle storyline or the focus on the pets at all. I feel the Manny and Iris storyline was funny (I mean, the ghoul was always on the verge of breaking up with him whenever we focused on them lol) but not strong enough to save this volume. When we get here I find myself mostly bored unfortunately... Except for Zombie Shake! That was FIRE! 3. Volume 3 - Like you said, a whole bunch of randomness was happening all at once. It's kind of jarring coming off of the over arching story of Volume 2. But while it was indeed a bunch of randomness, it holds some of my most favorite webisodes! There's so much in this volume to enjoy! 2. Volume 5 - For me, Volume 5 shows that you don't need several episodes to tell a story. I find the Moster Exchange Program to be extremely interesting! I wish the Volume was longer so we could have gotten more time with the exchange students (Mainly Lorna) and it was truly solid all throughout. Plus the Gil/Lagoona storyline concluded here, thank god. 1. Volume 2 - When I think of Monster High, THIS is what I think of. The Fearsquad storyline is so strong all throughout this volume! Plus i feel this is where Monster High truly hit it's stride and found it's identity. And everyone coming together at the end to help our main ghouls at the finale was awesome! It felt like a true ending and it introduced some of my favorite characters in this volume. Perhaps i have nostalgia blinding me, but for me it's peak Monster High. I hope this video brings more people to rewatch the webisodes and make their own lists!

Definitely in later seasons you can see them being more commerical based for new dolls lineup and theme. I mean al volumes just one big commerical but at least story based ones have some substance 😅

Volume 2 is the goat, each episodes follow the past ones and there's zactually a storyline being created, with each ghouls, not just the main cast, getting character development. I loved the other volumes with more than 26 episodes but it felt just like each new episodes were about one new monster or to show a new doll line and that was it. The worst Volume for me was the last ones because there was less than 10 episodes in them (for what reason wtf)

The webisodes are free to watch on the official Monster High channel. There are playlists for each volume but if you want to watch them in 1080p then I’d recommend the compilations.
