Really wish we got gods like Njord, Vidar, Demeter, Apollo & Dionysus in the games. I mean we already see Artemis (who was missing too) & many references to Apollo but ntg else.

I understand why there might not have been enough time to introduce Vidar and Njord (as well as Forseti, Nanna, Idun and Hodur), but might show up in a spin-off or a graphic novel. As for all the Greek Gods, the best way to introduce the likes of Artemis, Apollo and Dionysus and Okeanus would be through another game, maybe one that sees Atreus venturing through the remnants of Greece.

They could not introduce them in Ragnarok and were not important in the Greek games since we already have enough Lords as it is especially since people hated ascension which stopped them from making a game with them involved

Being the son of Ares, Phobos really should’ve showed up in God of War 1 as the secondary antagonist. Just give him maybe two boss fights, one in somewhere in the Temple of Pandora and another in Athens as Kratos comes near the final battle with Ares.

Phobos was a general of Ares. I can imagine that he was not happy when Kratos assumed the throne of God of War. What if the fear that consumed Zeus was the primal fear that Phobos was born from? It could be that Phobos was locked in Pandora’s box and when it was opened he somehow possessed Zeus. When Zeus died Kratos released Phobos and he reigned in Greece with the Olympians’ absence. Along with Phobos, hope (Elpis) was spread throughout humanity. So we can have a spin off game in the Greek roots introducing many aspects connected to Kratos’ past and a chance for Loki/Atreus to explore Greek myth. Atreus is an archer and Artemis is the goddess of hunt who was known to use a bow (see the connection? She could teach Atreus a skill or two). Hestia is Zeus’ sister and goddess of family. She is also Atreus’ great aunt. Atreus could meet his Greek god family members in the future and they could teach him magic like the ones Kratos used (but less powerful). Apollo also used a bow and was the god of light, purity and music. Atreus asked Kratos to teach him the lyra, but Kratos refused in Ragnarok leaving it for another time. Maybe Apollo teaches Atreus how to shoot fire from his bow and a bit of music. He is Atreus’ uncle after all. Imagine a game where Hypnos, Phobos, Morpheus join hands to hunt Kratos, but end up finding Loki instead. (Kratos’ son). They could be using giants’ souls to create and control monsters and Atreus has to free them and collect their marbles. Hestia, Artemis, Apollo, Dionysus could help Atreus in his quest and Atreus could also do side quests where he fixes Kratos’ mistakes. Imagine an Easter Egg where he meets Aphrodite’s son/daughter. It would be funny.

I am conflicted about Sinmaras absence from the game as the cut has its benefits and downsides. I hope she and the great eagle of Helheim will play a larger role in the TV adaptation of Amazon. Kratos should definitely fight the eagle in the show. And I will never lose hope to see Phobos, Artemis and all the other gods who didn't die during GOW III appear in a future game.

Artemis, Sinmara, the Helheim bird and the marked warrior clone are my favorite. For Artemis I LOVE the idea of her being a centaur lion creature huntress (which we kinda got in ragnarok with the stalkers). I also think that it would have been an interesting story (probably in ASCENSION) for her to have a wholesome sibling bond with Kratos. As for Sinmara, it would have been WAY more impactful to have that quest line as it would showcase atreus being a trickster god (like in mythology) and have her being combined with Surtŕ to form ragnarok (thus fulfilling the prophecy) which would then lead to the scene where Kratos tells atreus to open up his heart therefore bringing Kratos, atreus and (I guess) Sinmara's characters full circle, but also have ALL of them feel earned. As for it making the game longer? Well if the iron wood segment dragged to develop atreus and angrboda's relationship, you might as well be equal and do the same thing for the father son duo. As for the Helheim bird, this one REALLY made me sad, because one of my problems with GOW 2018 was repetitive bosses and enemy types and having you fight the troll AND the bird (and also crossing the bridge of the damned) would have made that game even more iconic. But the marked warrior clone from GOW 3 is interesting, and I have my own theories on how his role could work. Hoping for the Amazon show will rectify these issues. Either way thank you kaptain for always bringing quality content!! ❤

I'm really sad we never got to see deimos (the god of fear) and phobos (the god of panic) in one of the later GOW games. Either as hench men of Ares in GOW ascension, maybe even along with eris (the goddess of destruction) enyo (a minor goddess of war) or kydimos (the god of panic in battle). Or them wanting revenge against kratos for what he did to their dad, in the later games.

Sorry but Thanatos was not Death itself but only personification of death, and 2nd in command after Hades who is also killed by Kratos and weaker than Zeus... My guess is that Death itself is yet to be seen as being of higher existence or Kratos is one of the reapers, since he is called "Destroyer of Worlds". IMO we will see in which direction with lore SM will go after mediocre Ragnarok.

We could still see kratos as a Grim Reaper in a future game. Imagine a god of fear making kratos experience All The Horrors of his past with a mini boss or a enemy wave after a scene with atreus as a illusion being killed by the grim reaper that under the cloak is kratos as his worst fear himself still being a destroyer that killed his family again.

everyone will say that they expected apollo to appear, but i really think apollo was already dead at the beginning of gow ascension, think about it, in that game, the murals at aletheia's temple told that apollo defeated the great serpent of delphi with his great weapon, the bow of apollo, but in gow 3 pirithous has the bow, and refeers to it as "my bow", confirming that the bow isn't property of apollo anymore, in gow ascension his glorious statue remains in ruins, and that's not all, in the greek saga, everything that carries apollo's name, its either abandoned, or destroyed, or doesn't belong to him anymore

In my headcanon i imagine that there's a conspiracy there. We know that Zeus did worked together with the Fury sisters, who are masters in manipulation. So, what if Apollo was killed and have Delphi's oracle being forced to shut in, so that people would not 'seek the truth'? Apollo is the god of light and truth, the exact same thing that the Oracle of Delphi have been giving to basically everyone, be it from Greece or not. This ofc, will angers the furies.

While I would have liked to see all the Greek gods you mentioned, I was so disappointed we didn't even get half the Norse Gods. So many were cut or ommited entirely. Ignoring that they chose to merge Freya and Frigg (which is odd considering they have different husbands and different children in the myth, suggesting they are different entities. Frigg has several sons with Odin but only one daughter who is unnamed, while Freya only has two daughters, Hnoss, Goddess of Lust and Desire, and Gersemi, Goddess of Beauty) there were tons of cool and interesting gods we could have gotten that we did not. Including but not limited to: Hodr - God of Winter and Darkness. Brother of Baldur. Bragi - God of Music, Wisdom and Eloquence. Son of Odin. Husband of Idunn. Hermod - Messenger of the Gods. Son of Odin. Vidar - God of Space, Silence, Vengeance, and Footwear. Son of Odin. Idunn - Goddess of Spring, Eternal Youth and the Keeper of the Apples. Wife of Bragi. Then we also have several Vanir gods that were completely ignored. Njord - God of the Seas, Winds, Wealth, and Fishing. Brother of Frigg. Kvasir - God of Wisdom. Odur - God of the Summer Sun. Husband of Freya. Lytir - God of Fertility. Not to mention several Jotnar that are among the Aesir/Vanir gods. Including: Aegir - God of the Seas. Brother of Logi and Kari. Logi - God of Fire. Brother of Aegir and Kari. Kari - God of the Wind. Brother of Aegir and Logi. Gerd - Wife of Frey. Nott - Goddess of Night. Wife of Dagr. Dagr - God of Day. Husband of Nott. Sol - Goddess of the Sun. Mani - God of the Moon. Ran - Goddess of the Sea. Wife of Aegir. As well as a few Elves that are among the gods. Byggvir - God of barley. Servant of Frey. Husband of Beyla. Beyla - Goddess of Mead and Bees. Wife of Byggvir. I would have liked to at least see some of these.

Phobos not getting in is a real shame, but MAN would I have been stoked for that Artemis co-op idea. I'd play that into the ground. That concept art captures a lot of the essence of the badassery you mentioned. Not to mention, it reminds me of the situation with Atalante... Maybe she could be one of the few in the pantheon that Kratos either has no beef with or outright prefers, so they have a nice former-coworker relationship and it's why she winds up gifting him a big F-off sword in the first game? I dunno, I'm just sad we wound up missing out on that. Woulda been an eight or a nine outta ten experience for sure, I think.

There's also Eris, Goddess of Discord and Chaos, who's apparently into watching people suffer and bloodshed. I read somewhere that she is a sister of Ares and is friendly towards him, which kind of makes sense seeing what war does to people. Would be interesting if it turns out the Blades of Chaos were originally hers, even though they were forged in the underworld. If she found out that Ares's chosen was no longer a violent monster, she'd probably want them back.

Kratos becoming God Of Death actually would kind of make sense from a character arc perspective, especially now. Sometime in the far future once the need for a God Of War is no more, him becoming a shepherd to the afterlife with his newfound compassion and knowledge could hit REALLY well. From someone that violently tore people from the mortal coil to someone that gently guides them to the great beyond when their time has come.

There are a lot of gods cut from the Norse and Greek games. One that was mentioned more than any other in the Greek games is Apollo and Artemis. Both play a good role because of the weapons they gave to Kratos. In Norse it’s Forseti. He played an even bigger role of founding out who kills Heimdall, which leads into the inevitable death of Brok.

Since we got something better than what was cut except for the Hel' Bird bridge keeper, then I'd say yeah, good they were cut. Not all cut contents in a game is a bad thing. Sometimes the cut material is not a good fit for the final product.

I have a question to ask. Is the weapon that Kratos get from the great blacksmith the same as the one that Odin has. I am not sure about this as we have only seen certain weapons being able to kill the god in god of war ragnorak like Heimdall dying at the hands of Kratos and Thor at the hands of Odin. Can someone let me know if they are the same because it would mean only special weapons, forged by the great blacksmith, have the power to kill the gods.

I think the blades of chaos' fire works because the fire of ares you get in ascension is still active because ares' soul is still alive

Archimedes being in the game wouldn't make sense because he lived during the Roman campaigns against the Italiot Greeks of Magna Graecia in the 3rd (200s) century BC. If the earlier game in the series chronologically takes place during this time, Kratos being in the Battle of Marathon in 490 BC against the Achaemenid Persians in Chains of Olympus would make no sense. Also, should be spelled Okeanos (Οκεανος)

What's really weird is that after I got done with God of war Ragnarok and heard that atreus might get a spin-off game I actually thought of a melee weapon for him that Loki is supposed to wield and myth. I thought of the weapon as a short sword. Who thinks that atreus should have a melee weapon if he has a spin off game. (Like) agree (dislike) disagree

Reminds me of an idea I had once for a What If scenario where before bringing the past Titans to wage war on Olympus Kratos is met by Hesita the Goddess of the Hearth and Family because she’s realized Zeus has gone mad and needs to be stopped because after leveling Sparta she confronted him and he shocked her with one of his thunderbolts so she plans to sneak Kratos into his palace on Mont Olympus so he may kill Zeus while she kept the other gods from interfering

After I watched your video I rewatched the cutscene from GOW 1 where Kratos got impaled. Then it shows Ares speaking to Kratos after he killed his family and says, “you will become death itself.” Now hearing about Kratos becoming death in a cut ending I wonder if that was a hint.

It would be amazing if there were others Gods In the third game like: Hypnos,Demeter,Dionysus,Apollo,Artemis,Eros,Eris,Íris and Hestia with the grandchildrens of Zeus what could have been added to the game like: Triton,Hecate,Asclepius,Orpheus,Macaria and Melinoe since they are Sons of Apollo,Hestia,Hades and Poseidon another thing that also Ares,Aphrodite,Hephaestus & Athena they also have Childrens too It's a shame that these Characters/Gods didn't appear in the game who knows in the future.. I believe there could still be two games of the Greek Mythology to close the saga and in the current games of Norse Mythology what is now happening in this new saga and mythology there would be a lot to do with more two games a sixth game and the origin game with many story dlcs especially in the Ragnarok that I definitely believe surely there will be more and a curiosity: we almost had a fight against Echidna the mother of all Demons and Creatures of the Greek mythology a shame it was cut and it would have been a fight on behind the Gaia's back in a forest certainly at the beginning of the game from this third game and we almost had the NPC Ixion as one of the puzzles in the underworld in the game that he would die in one of the traps that we would try to uncover to pass the level that was cut very sad that it didn't happen.. and all these things and Gods with yours Childrens/DemiGods was cut from the final version content and they were not added/placed in the game.. 🤔🥺🤧🙏🙏 like and Bye!

Kratos becoming Thanatos would have been interesting. It could also have worked with the sequels in the form of kratos trying to find piece and make a new life despite being the incarnation of death itself. Thanatos is also a god that isnt used all that often despite his whole shtick being the grim reaper (pretty sure the GR is based off thanatos).

Kuba, do you have a theory why Hraesvelgr wasn't included in "GOW Ragnarok"? They already had a fully developed model and intention of using it. Why throw it away? They could have atleast put it as a side boss instead of more Trolls.

I think the reason she wasn't a boss in Gow Ragnnarok it's because SMS in a way shot themselves on the foot by not making her a boss in 2018. Because if they wanted to re-use her assets for Ragnnarok, the writers would have to come up with an explanation as to why she now wants to fight Kratos. They could bring the Unused Greek's Gods back IMO They could have Kratos going to Rome & find out that Ares (He was confirmed was still roaming around since GoW 1) with the other Greek Gods that survived killed & had taken over the Roman's Pantheon becoming the Greek-Roman Gods

Making poseidon powerful enough that Kratos still needed help would be Oceanus and Kalypso's entrance and it would be epic to be honest. And also stop people from ragging on poseidon saying he can't fight and is useless without his water form along with hermes, Heracles chronos as well as he was about to be in the final battle. Zagreus as well would be like a Dante like character.

I have been hoping to see more Norse gods in God of War 2018 and Ragnarok, particularly Víðarr, who is Odin's son. In Norse mythology, Víðarr is known as the God of vengeance and is considered a powerful Æsir God who even surpasses his brother Thor. It would be fascinating to witness a showdown between Víðarr and Kratos.

We should've gotten all ten sons of Óðinn. We got Týr, Heimdallr, Þórr, and Baldr. We never got Meili, Bragi, Höðr, Hermóðr, Víðarr, or Váli. Meili is literally Þórr's only full-blooded brother, and Höðr and Hermóðr are Baldr's only full-blooded brothers.

I wish that they made a new enemy type in GOW 3 called Demigods. Different colors denoting their parentage using different powers led by Hercules. It would show just how powerful Kratos has become, slaughtering his own cousins in droves. Maybe even seeing the multiplayer character from Ascension along the way? Just seems odd that only monsters were used as the army for Olympus.
